Chapter 29: Super Saiyan God!

In the Realm of the Kaioshin, the Supreme Kai, Shin, and his attendant Kibito were listening to the Elder Kai's story for the third time that morning.
Suddenly, just as the Elder Kai was about to describe how handsome he was in his youth, Trunks appeared before them.
"Hello, Kaioshin-sama…" Trunks waved with a smile as he appeared out of nowhere.
The three Kaioshin instantly felt uneasy after seeing his smile.
"T-Trunks-san… may I know why you came to the Realm of the Kaioshin?" Shin asked nervously.
"Don't worry, guys, nothing happened…" Trunks replied, thinking that the Kaioshin might have assumed Majin Buu or another enemy had appeared.
"Then why are you here?" the Elder Kai asked as he sat comfortably on the ground.
"Gohan-san told me that you, Kaioshin-sama, helped him train… and he also mentioned that you are the Dai Kaioshin-sama, capable of unlocking my potential!"
"So… you want me to unlock your potential as well?" the Elder Kai asked, feeling uneasy.
"Yes… and don't worry, I'm not ungrateful. As long as you help me, I'll be ready to help protect the universe from any threat." Trunks said after a brief pause.
"Really… Elder (the old Kai), do it! Trunks would be a huge help in protecting the universe!" Shin shouted excitedly.
"… Damn you, annoying brat."
It was obvious Trunks had far greater potential than Gohan, and unlocking it would take a lot of time and energy.
The Elder Kai thought to himself that he should scold Shin later. He then looked at the smiling Trunks and sighed.
"Fine, come sit in front of me," he said, adjusting his posture, preparing himself for a long, exhausting session—or even several days.
"Wait, can you unlock the potential of two people at once?" Trunks suddenly asked.
"Yes, I can… why?" the Elder Kai asked, puzzled.
But Trunks didn't answer. Instead, he used Instant Transmission and disappeared.
A while later, he returned—this time with Goten.
"Trunks, we really have to go back once a month, or else my mom will kill me…" Goten said nervously as he remembered his mother, Chi-Chi.
A few days ago, Trunks had gone to Goten's house and barely managed to convince Chi-Chi and Goku to let Goten accompany him on his journey across the universe.
Chi-Chi was against it at first, but after Goten insisted he wanted to become stronger, she allowed him to go—but only for a short while.
Trunks also reassured her that Goten didn't need to worry about studying or working, since he was the heir to the Briefs family fortune (Bulma's family). This meant that in the future, he would inherit all of their assets.
Trunks even mentioned that if Goten ever wanted a job, he could easily give him a top position like CEO or anything else.
"Don't worry… this is also your chance to get stronger." Trunks explained to Goten about the Elder Kai unlocking their potential.
Minutes later, the Elder Kai placed his hands in front of Trunks and Goten's foreheads as a strong ki aura began surrounding them, slowly increasing in intensity.
"This will be exhausting…" the Elder Kai sighed. Thankfully, Trunks had given him some "cultural" magazines of the highest quality to pass the time.

After an entire month, in the Realm of the Kaioshin, Goten and Trunks stood with wide smiles on their faces.
Once their potential had been unlocked, they spent the rest of the month training to master their newfound power.
Goten's strength had increased drastically, and he was now able to transform into Super Saiyan 3. This was thanks to the fusion with Trunks during the Majin Buu battle, where he inherited Gotenks' memories of using Super Saiyan 3. That made the transformation much easier for him—especially now that his power had multiplied after his potential was unlocked.
As for Trunks, he was excited to challenge fighters across the universe and train with his new strength during his adventures.
"System, show me the status window!" Trunks commanded mentally.

Trunks smiled in satisfaction.
He had acquired almost all of his transformations and power with relative ease, though he had gone through hellish training to truly master them.
The Oozaru was the giant ape form that any Saiyan with a tail could achieve by looking at a full moon.
The Ikari form was equivalent in power to Oozaru, but it retained the humanoid shape—no need to turn into a massive, slow gorilla.
He had reached Super Saiyan 1 easily a long time ago, even before recovering his memories from his past life and gaining the system.
Super Saiyan 2 came after he defeated Goten and obtained a Progress Card, and he perfected it through training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Super Saiyan 3 came after he defeated Gohan while the latter was in Super Saiyan 2.
Then, he obtained Super Saiyan 4 after defeating Son Goku and convincing him to be resurrected.
After that, he and Goten entered the Time Chamber and trained on all of their transformations, mastering them fully—even Super Saiyan 4.
Though he couldn't yet reach Full Power Super Saiyan 4, he decided to leave that for later, suspecting he needed greater strength to use it.
After Majin Buu's defeat, Trunks obtained a Power-Doubling Card. Although he didn't gain Majin Buu's immortality, he did acquire a decent healing and regeneration ability.
Later, after unlocking his and Goten's potential with the Elder Kai, Trunks sparred with the three Kaioshin and easily defeated them.
While he didn't gain much raw power, he acquired unimaginable techniques and abilities.
He had also finally reached the level of the gods and obtained "God Ki" from the Kaioshin.
This allowed him to achieve Super Saiyan God with ease.
Although Trunks' Super Saiyan 4 was still stronger than Super Saiyan God, he knew he could combine Super Saiyan God's power with the Super Saiyan form to create new transformations—like Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (Super Saiyan Blue, as Goku called it in Dragon Ball Super).
After raising his power to such terrifying heights, Trunks used the Power-Doubling Card from Majin Buu, making him nearly invincible.
Of course… that would be true if Dragon Ball Super didn't exist.
In that series, villains like Frieza, Cell, the Androids, and Majin Buu—once terrifying in Dragon Ball Z—were just ordinary foes who could be erased in moments.
"Well then, Kaioshin-sama… see you later!"
Saying this, Trunks and Goten waved goodbye, and Trunks used the Kaioshin's Instant Transmission technique, disappearing with Goten.
"Was that… Kai Kai?!"
The Kaioshin's eyes widened in shock.
Even though Trunks had only asked to see the technique once to try mastering it, they couldn't believe he had actually perfected it so easily—especially since it was a divine technique.
Since when did Saiyans possess God Ki?
They felt a chill down their spines, convinced that Trunks was a once-in-a-lifetime prodigy.
Meanwhile, Trunks had simply obtained their techniques thanks to the system.
Speaking of talent, Trunks remembered how the system had told him that his Saiyan bloodline grew stronger with every Saiyan he defeated. Their lineages would merge with his, making him even more powerful.
This made him think about visiting an angry Saiyan "friend" in the Southern Galaxy.
