That evening, after Lucas arrived, "Sophia, I need to go on a business trip."
"Business trip?"
"Yes, I'm going to City C. The Cooper Family once helped me, and now they have some issues. I might need to go there to discuss a partnership."
Sophia looked at him and quietly asked, "You could just send your secretary for the partnership talk, why do you have to go personally?"
"I'm going because I want to repay the last favor. If you truly understand, you'll get it. I don't want anything to happen because of Vivian that could hurt you or the kids in the future."
Lucas slightly bent his knee to look at her at eye level.
Sophia couldn't help but laugh. "I thought something serious was going on. If you have to go, then go. Don't worry about me."
"But I don't know when I'll be back."
Lucas stared at her, realizing that he couldn't be away from her for even a moment. As soon as they were apart, all he could think about was her.
