93. Holy Grail Recovery Failure
"Hey, hey, he's just gone like that!" Ishtar exclaimed in disbelief!
"What do you mean, 'hand over the rest to you'?! Didn't you say you'd take care of it?! Where are you?! You're not even here!"
Everyone present was shocked to see Xiling plunge headlong into what was clearly a trap, but one person showed no surprise at all—Kevin.
Rather, this was exactly what was planned.
Given the current situation, the emergence of Goetia was inevitable.
Someone had to confront him, and the choice was obvious from the beginning—it was Xiling.
The Demon King had already set his sights on Xiling, and Xiling had been waiting all along!
He will venture alone to that battlefield—the Temple of Time—to challenge the true form of Goetia, who controls the seventy-two demon gods!
Kevin pointed his flaming greatsword at Kingu. After Xiling disappeared, an undisguised, triumphant smile appeared on the corner of his mouth.
Facing Kevin's weapon, Kingu was indifferent. That dangerous person had been taken away by Goetia, and who else could stop his mother's advance?
Kingu spread his hands, his posture relaxed and carefree, even with a hint of pitying mockery:
"Surrender, stop making futile resistance. What can you do? Give up resistance and return to the Sea of Life to welcome the new era of humanity. This is your only destiny."
"Is that so?"
Kevin's response was only with simple words, and then his burning greatsword drew a deadly arc of flames! Instantly, it annihilated the approaching Rahmu around him.
Witnessing this fierce attack, Kingu instinctively frowned, but the slight ripple quickly subsided on his face, replaced by a deeper arrogance:
"Useless! No matter how strong the attack, it is meaningless to Mother, the source of life! As long as there is life on this land, Mother is immortal! Everything you have done is nothing but a futile struggle!"
Just as Kingu was lost in his victory declaration, Kevin made his move!
His target was Kingu in the sky, which was surrounded and protected by a dense swarm of Rahmu. Kevin raised his left hand, and in an instant, a basketball-sized, blazing white fireball that emitted a blinding light and destructive heat condensed in front of his palm!
In the next second, Kevin hurled a terrifying fireball at him!
"Snort!"
Kingu didn't use the Chains of Heaven; instead, he swung his arm sharply! An invisible command was instantly issued! The surrounding Rahmu, like the most loyal soldiers, rushed towards the terrifying fireball that was flying towards them!
Rumble—!!!
The deafening explosion resounded through the sky!
The shockwave spread outwards like a real tsunami, filling the air with the smell of burnt ozone and the stench of charred monster flesh.
Kingu shielded his eyes from the blinding light and scorching heat with his arm, cautiously watching the center of the explosion. The smoke and dust hadn't yet cleared when he seemed to sense something and shouted, "Stop him! Quick!!"
Too late! A figure darted out from the billowing smoke! It was Kevin!
Kevin transformed into a fiery meteor that tore through the sky, with only one target—Kingu!
"Get out of my way!"
Facing the Rahmu horde surging forward again, Kevin let out a deep roar. He no longer swung his greatsword to slash, but instead held the burning greatsword horizontally in front of his chest like a knight's lance!
Buzz—!
An even more violent flame erupted from his body, instantly engulfing his entire being! Kevin, as a blazing arrow, charged forward with unstoppable force!
*Pfft! Sizzle!*
Any creatures and Rahmu that came into contact with him along the way were instantly incinerated by the intense heat before they could even struggle!
The next second, Kevin smashed through the last barrier and rushed in front of Kingu! He unleashed a sword strike aimed at him!
Kingu gathered his magic power in his hands and blocked forward!
The two were very close at this moment. Kingu gritted his teeth and growled, "What's the point of everything you're doing now?! In that Temple of Time, the flow of time is chaotic! Even if that guy can defeat Goetia, by the time he returns here, this land will have already been completely assimilated by Mother's Sea of Life! Everything will be over! Your resistance is meaningless!"
"So what!"
Kevin's voice remained unwavering. He swung his arm violently, and the burning greatsword, carrying immense force, slammed into Kingu's hastily parrying arm! The tremendous force sent Kingu flying like a cannonball!
At the same time, Kevin flipped his wrist, and his greatsword precisely severed several silver chains that Kingu had fired in a counterattack, sending sparks flying!
Kevin's voice echoed clearly across the battlefield:
"Until that guy comes back—your enemy is me!"
Kingu forcibly steadied himself in mid-air, his eyes blazing with fury. With a flick of his hand, the Rahmu charged at Kevin again, but they failed to get close! Several figures appeared around Kevin!
"Don't even think about getting close to Mr. Kevin!"
Mash raised her cross shield and shouted firmly. The shield emitted a soft yet resilient light, blocking the frontal attack.
Quetzalcoatl laughed and threw a punch, sending a group of Rahmu flying from its flank.
Ishtar kept firing her magic cannons, killing the approaching Rahmu.
Fujimaru Ritsuka yelled at Kevin, "Kevin! What do we do now?!"
Kevin looked at Kingu, who was now enveloped by Rahmu again, and said, "The Holy Grail is still inside that guy's body. Let's get the Holy Grail out of him first. Tiamat will take at least another day and a half to reach Uruk! Let's ignore her for now."
"Hehehe..."
High in the sky, Kingu clearly heard Kevin's words. He clutched the spot where his arm had been hit, let out a disdainful snort, and his face was full of mockery.
"If you can do it, then try. Take the Holy Grail out of the protection of my brothers and sisters."
"It seems the Holy Grail really is with them, senior," Mash said cautiously to Fujimaru Ritsuka, holding up her shield.
Fujimaru Ritsuka nodded.
"Oh dear, this is a bit too much, isn't it?"
Quetzalcoatl flicked her wrist, her face still bearing a cheerful smile, but her eyes were sharp as an eagle's. She slammed her fist and palm together, making a crisp cracking sound.
"But well, now I can only go all out! Ha!"
Before she finished speaking, she stomped her foot hard! The huge pterosaur-shaped mount beneath her roared and carried her like an arrow, charging fiercely towards the heavily protected Kingu in the sky!
"Hmph! A reckless act!" Kingu sneered.
The invisible command spread like ripples, and not all Rahmu rushed to him to defend himself. Some Rahmu immediately changed direction, surrounding him more tightly like a black tide, forming layer upon layer of writhing, hissing walls of flesh.
Meanwhile, another group of Rahmu, like a splitting cloud, emitted a piercing shriek and surged toward Uruk like a black locust storm!
"Oh no! They're heading towards Uruk!" Fujimaru Ritsuka's heart jumped into her throat.
Fujimaru Ritsuka's heart began to worry about Uruk. Just then, Kevin's voice rang out, "Ritsuka, Mash, you two go back to Uruk immediately. And Ishtar, please take them back with you."
The group was taken aback and looked at Kevin, not understanding why he would split up his forces at this crucial moment.
Kevin looked up at Quetzalcoatl, who was constantly killing those Rahmu, but there were too many of them, and they were still emerging from the ocean.
"There are too many of these monsters. I'll coordinate with Quetzalcoatl later."
Fujimaru Ritsuka instantly understood Kevin's intention.
Quetzalcoatl's second Noble Phantasm!
The observation data from Chaldea's last observation clearly show that Kevin's power fluctuations are closely related to the position of the sun, from a relatively low level at sunrise to its blazing intensity at noon, and finally reaching its peak at dusk! And Quetzalcoatl's Noble Phantasm can allow Kevin's power to climb to its peak moment!
"Understood!"
Fujimaru Ritsuka replied without hesitation, her eyes resolute.
"We'll take care of Uruk! This place… I'm counting on you, Kevin!"
"Mr. Kevin! Please be careful!" Mash gripped her shield tightly, her worry evident in her voice.
"Tsk, I know, I know."
Ishtar shrugged, but her actions were decisive. Maana appeared beneath their feet in an instant.
"Hold on tight! Let's go!" The three sped off towards Uruk at an astonishing speed.
Kingu coldly watched them leave from high in the sky, without any intention of stopping them, a chilling sneer on his lips:
"A futile journey. Whether here or in Uruk, the ending is already predetermined. You old humans will eventually meet your end under the grace of mother."
Looking down, Kingu turned his gaze back to the battlefield below, where the golden-haired, feathered serpent goddess was still futilely attacking his defensive perimeter.
On the battlefield, Kevin and Quetzalcoatl faced each other across the distance.
Kevin nodded slightly, and Quetzalcoatl returned a bright smile, her eyes then turning incredibly sharp.
"This feeling..."
Flying higher in the sky, Kingu's heart suddenly clenched, and an unprecedented chill rose rapidly up his spine!
He stared intently at the two men below.
"What are they planning?! What are those two bastards up to?!"
Overwhelmed by fear and inexplicable unease, he couldn't help but roar down at the crowd below:
"Answer me! What exactly do you want to do?"
There was no response.
No answer is needed.
The next second, the daylight suddenly became even more blinding!
The sun has risen!
Quetzalcoatl conjured a fireball in both hands and, without hesitation, hurled it into the sky! The moment the fireball left her palms, it seemed to break free of an invisible restraint, its size expanding wildly like an inflated balloon!
In the blink of an eye, the sphere of light had transformed into a giant rock with a diameter of 3.75 meters.
Her Second Noble Phantasm - Solar Calendar Stone!
A terrifying heatwave descended instantly! The air twisted and boiled, and the entire sea below seemed to have been thrown into a furnace, with white steam rising into the sky only to be instantly dried up by the intense heat!
As if she had completed her mission, Quetzalcoatl showed no lingering attachment. Riding her pterosaur, with a satisfied smile on her face, she turned and sped away like a streak of light.
For Kingu, the Noble Phantasm in front of him was nothing. What truly terrified him was the figure in the sky that had undergone some kind of change!
That figure was like the sun!
Under Kingu's astonished gaze, Kevin slowly raised his right hand.
In the next second.
The sun has fallen!
At that moment, throughout Mesopotamia, every living being with a breath felt as if their hearts were being gripped by an invisible giant hand! They all turned their heads in terror and fear, looking towards the direction of the sea.
Where did the sun fall?
There was no earth-shattering explosion as expected; instead, there was only the arrival of a sun that ravaged the earth.
"Hey...hey hey...this...this this this!!"
Ishtar, riding on Maana, had the world-destroying light reflected in her pupils. She opened her mouth, but could only utter broken monosyllables.
Inside the Chaldea control room, there was a deathly silence; no one even noticed that Leonardo da Vinci's recording tablet had slipped from his hand and fallen to the ground.
Dr. Romani, his throat dry, recounted his findings. Fujimaru Ritsuka gripped the communicator tightly, finally managing to utter a whisper:
"Xiling... Kevin... who... are you people?"
The analysis results, which have just been obtained, coldly reveal that the scale of Kevin's spirit origin when he launched the attack has already surpassed that of Tiamat, the goddess of creation, who is being monitored!
When the blinding, destructive radiance of the sun finally began to slowly dissipate...
Vision restored.
The sea has disappeared.
Tiamat's enormous figure vanished.
Kingu has disappeared.
The Rahmu Legion, which had swarmed across the sea like a locust plague, vanished.
Everything is empty. Only the scorched earth and its scars silently tell the story of the apocalyptic scene that has just occurred.
Above the sky, the only figure still stands.
Looking down at the empty scene below.
Kevin took a deep breath and headed back to Uruk.
The Holy Grail retrieval failed.
Shortly after Kevin left, the deathly silence began to break.
The surviving seawater in the distance began to pour wildly into the huge, steaming crater.
And in the depths of that murky, churning sea, a massive, breathtaking silhouette slowly emerges from the surging black mud!
The next second!
Boom--!!!
The sea surface was suddenly shattered like a fragile eggshell! Towering waves were hurled hundreds of meters into the air!
Tiamat, the Mother of Creation!
Completely freed from its constraints, it returned to the earth in its full form.
Almost simultaneously, from the churning black mud vortex near Tiamat's enormous body, a hand covered in sticky mud suddenly reached out! Then another one appeared, as Kingu struggled to crawl back out of the black mud matriarch.
"Aaaaaah—!!!!"
As soon as he was freed from the black mud, Kingu clutched his head tightly, his body convulsing and emitting a heart-wrenching scream.
Painful!
It hurts so much!!
Even though his body vanished instantly under that attack.
But the pain lasted for several seconds.
After a long time, the excruciating pain that originated from the depths of my soul finally subsided slightly.
Kingu was breathing heavily and lowered his trembling hand.
Just a few seconds later...
"Hehe...hahahaha..." He laughed in a hoarse and crazy low voice.
"It's useless... Even if you possess such terrifying power... It's all in vain! Mother is invincible!"
"All that awaits you is only a shattered future!"
Kingu suddenly plunged his hand into his chest, and when his hand reappeared, it carried something else—the Holy Grail.
After glancing at the Holy Grail in his hand, Kingu threw it at Tiamat without hesitation.
"Restore to wholeness, Mother! Let this rebellious world return to your embrace—!"
The Holy Grail transformed into a golden meteor and merged seamlessly into Tiamat's enormous body.
In an instant, an even more violent torrent of magic erupted from Tiamat's center! The surging sea of black mud around her seemed to come alive, emitting a deafening roar! The black waves were no longer simply surging but transformed into a raging torrent of iron, carrying the power to destroy everything, and crushing towards the continental coast at a speed several times faster than before!
Now, that guy can no longer hurt Mother.
Even if the opponent launches another similar attack, it's like the sun descending.
...
"Hahaha, face me!"
"Is that all you got?"
"Die!!"
Goetia clutched his injured arm as he watched the figure galloping across the battlefield, slaughtering the Demon God Pillars. The deep apprehension in his eyes grew even stronger.
"...Monster"
The demon pillar that had been dead was summoned back.
Goetia had prepared for the worst.
He's going to start stalling for time...
