It was dark outside when Luciano drove into Neravalle.
Every step he took after dropping out of the car was controlled. Measured in a way that had him walking not too fast, and not too slow.
The halls of Neravalle welcomed him with a grip that clawed at his already tightened throat, causing his jaw to clench harder.
"BuonaseraCarpo!" Echoed through the halls with every group of boys he walked past.
He didn't respond, he didn't stop to converse, his eyes were straight ahead, guiding him until he reached his destination– the lounge.
His fists opened and closed first, before he lifted his fingers to tap at his ear plug.
"Bring me Daniela and Helena," he said to whoever was first to catch his signal.
The door opened about five minutes after his request, and Daniela strolled in with her mother.
"Babe! You're back!" She ran to him, and hugged him.
"You two look so cute together," Helena laughed heartily as they separated.
