VATICAN CITY
Luciano sat across from the mother superior in the secret room she had led him to as they discussed the future of the church in calm, measured voices.
"If you don't have a candidate in mind already, might I make a suggestion then?" She asked as she refilled their wine glasses.
He picked up his own glass, and took it down in one gulp.
Whiskey would have been his preference, but the mother superior had decided to sin without any trace.
"Who do you have in mind?" He asked, as he relaxed into his seat.
"Thomas," she said, and followed it up with a smile.
Luciano was not smiling back. In fact, all traces of light in his eyes were gone.
"Just give me the robe instead," he replied sarcastically.
Mother superior threw her head back in laughter. "Oh my darling, boy. Don't tell me you're still holding grudges against him. He's your family, you know?"
He hissed through his teeth, every vein on his body standing at attention.
