Valentina sighed internally when she heard Luciano curse under his breath.
"Babe! Are you in there? Did the code fucking change?" Daniela continued to scream.
"Hey," he turned to her, and pulled away a little. "I–"
"Don't even. It's fine." She rolled to the side, and straightened up.
This was it for her. She couldn't fathom a life where she had to be hidden all the time, like an abomination.
The better parts of her life had been spent hidden already. She just couldn't take any more of it.
"Bella," he walked up to her. "Look, I'm sorry–"
"I told you it's fine. You have a responsibility to her. Please go and sort it out, so I can lea-ve."
She tried to keep her voice clear, and her emotions in check. However, just at the end, it broke a little.
Luciano struggled.
He wanted her to stay. He wanted to choose her, and tell her about his choice.
On the other hand, she was right about duty and responsibility.
