He let her go, and took it a step further, by moving away to create some distance between them.
Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out her camera, and placed it gently on one of the flower beds.
"Salvatore will come pick you up," he said, and turned his back to her.
That feeling hit Valentina again. Harder than ever before.
Her reaction was laughter. A bitter laughter.
"Of course, you run away. You light the fire, and when it starts to burn, you leave. I hate you with all of my heart, Luciano De Luca. I curse the day I met you!" She screamed so he could hear every bit of passion in her voice.
The scream was also to push back the tears that threatened to spill out of her eyes.
He paused, as if he was going to walk up to her again.
Hold her, and tell her that everything was going to be fine.
And if not, explain to her what it was she was feeling.
Because she didn't understand it. She didn't know how to understand it.
It was just incredibly overwhelming for her.
