The radio hissed with static.
Damian's jaw clenched. He didn't move, didn't speak but Luca saw it in his eyes, fury and pain.
The ghost of a man who'd been waiting years for this reckoning.
"Boss…" Luca began, but Damian was already turning away.
"Bring the car around. We will move tonight."
Upstairs, Isabella felt the shift of that invisible pull in the air that told her peace was ending.
She turned just as Damian entered the room.
His gaze met hers, dark and full of storms.
"What happened?" she asked.
He brushed a hand over her cheek, his voice low.
"It's starting."
And though she didn't yet know what it was, she believed him.
Because even before the war reached their door, she could already hear it in the distance like thunder crawling closer.
As he held her that night, the ocean whispered against the cliffs.
The same words again and again, too faint for human ears.
