The sun finally lit up once again, the Benick Grimoire was finally secured by the three men who were sleeping soundly. A sufficient duration of time had went by, Ben's hand had gotten swollen from the returning impact of shockwaves. Fest's body was breaking down with severe pain due to extreme strain he suffered.
Festor Linen recommended Ben and Daniel to leave the place immediately and discuss the contents of the grimoire at a safe place.
"Considering how Daniel was living in a tavern, they are probably from a farther place. It wouldn't hurt to offer them to stay at my house until the grimoire and its contents are fully revealed."
"I recommend you to check the contents of the grimoire at my place if you don't have a safe place to be at. We should leave this place immediately." Festor Linen said out of concern.
"I agree with you. Let us leave here then."
Daniel agreed with Fest, staring at the circle enclosed shining half moon imprinted on the cover of the grimoire.
Daniel gave them both a rejuvenating pill from his bag before putting the grimoire inside and the three men left the mansion.
[ THE FOLLOWING DAY ]
"We will easily overpower half of this nation if we master all the sense and magic strengthening mentioned in the grimoire! On top of that all the spells too? WE SHOULD REALLY DO IT!"
Ben was curiously surprised to read the insanity of a spell. It was a tempting offer, the grimoire had a quest to learn all the magical information. The contents of the quest were vaguely mentioned, and an irritatingly crucial word was blurred out.
Shall you commit to the quest of Proof of Identity, henceforth may you receive the knowledge of the Benick Family as a reward for your endeavor.
Decipher the hints in your life, find an answer worthy of being accepted by the Universe.
This trial will test your perseverance and intellect. The emerging victorious deserves the contents of this grimoire engraved into their vessel.
Even in the absence of the Sun, the Moon shall still shine upon your luck.
Even after Festor Linen's disapproval, Daniel was peculiarly analyzing the quest's details.
"We can do this, just don't die."
Daniel confidently agreed with Ben's judgement and asked Festor Linen to participate in the quest. Fest's mind was clouded with uneasiness ever after coming back from Moon Benick's Residency. Perhaps it was due to the higher presence which he met after releasing the Trinity Seal.
"May be I'm trying too hard? How long has it even been since I came to know even about my existence.."
Festor Linen's thoughts stopped right there and he decided to follow Daniel and Ben's idea anyways.
"Pray for our welfare."
Fest removed the negative expression from his face and picked up his sword and kept it inside the scabbard. The three men pinched their thumbs to get a drop of blood and signed it on the grimoire to begin the ritual.
"You are a good man, Fest."
Daniel started to chant the beginning of the Quest.
"The creation beyond perception, listen to our need."
"We long for eternity, the ascended creed."
"Take our minds and take what we borrow, take our greed and take our sorrow."
In a second, their minds were taken to a spacious subdomain free from the time of their world. Bright lights, multiple galaxies and spacious vacuums present all around Fest, Daniel and Ben. A door opened in front of each, covered in blurred clouds, completely opaque.
Telepathic voice from Moon Benick rang through the trio, startling Ben awkwardly.
"It is me, Moon. Remember the blood imprint on the grimoire? It has allowed me to communicate to you. What you must see right now is a door in front of you, before entering the doors you need to carefully hear to what I say."
"Can you hear our thoughts? If yes then reply with Cooked Stew"
Daniel tried to telepathically communicate with Moon to confirm the difficulty of the Quest.
"Anyways, if you are wondering, no I cannot hear your thoughts. If I am wrong then you are good as dead. The quest is your Proof of Identity. You have to go through ten similar portals which open to a place from your memories. Each portal will have a hint towards your identity. You have to realize your identity within a certain time limit. The places will start to attack you in unrealistic ways after a short period of time. You can proceed now.
"WHAT WAS THAT!! I can't wait to do this!! LOOK AROUND ITS SO AMAZING!!!!!!"
Ben shouted his lungs out in excitement, not realizing the threat of this Quest.
"Let us each enter the doors now."
Daniel signaled Ben and Fest to enter.
Festor Linen was clearly hesitant to enter the door, he pretended to be all strong and wise to blend in but his heart was wavering. He entered the door at the count of three.
A new scene appeared in front of Festor Linen, it was his room. The Sun was still shining but the atmosphere was dark, completely unaffected by the lights produced by the Sun. It was similar to an evening after thunderstorm. A number of objects in his room were missing when compared to what he remembered.
A strong hurling wind strike shattered his window. Wind with high intensity was blowing through his room, knocking down light weighted objects.
Suddenly his gaze shifted towards a piece of a paper lying on his desk. It was unaffected by the winds blowing from the shattered window.
"Look at yourself and find the missing objects."
Festor Linen read the contents of the paper, his heart raced as he realized that the mirror in his room was gone. Every object that could reflect a face clearly had been erased. The water, the glass, the shining edge of his sword, there was not one object he saw that could potentially reflect his face.
The same blurry cloud appeared in front of the room's door, creating a portal to the next scenario.
