----------------------------------------------------------

Ma Kensei was a master of Chinese martial arts.

Kicking techniques were second nature to him.

Mizong Leg. Tan Leg.

Each shift suppressed Kim Kaphwan completely.

Although Taekwondo kicks were Kim Kaphwan's foundation, he was still forced back under Ma Kensei's pressure.

As a kicking specialist himself, Kim Kaphwan could clearly tell what Ma Kensei was using.

Mizong Leg.

Tan Leg.

Chuojiao.

Linked Steps.

Yinyang Leg.

And more.

There were even techniques he couldn't recognize at all.

Almost every kick was different from the last.

While Kim Kaphwan felt admiration, he was being driven backward nonstop.

Each time he tried to stabilize his stance, Ma Kensei shut him down immediately.

The continuous kicks were suffocating.

There was almost no opening.

In just a moment, they exchanged dozens of blows.

Across those exchanges, Kim Kaphwan was almost entirely on the defensive.

At first, he could still counter.

Later, he could barely attack at all.

A shadow crept into his heart.

The longer the fight dragged on, the more shocked he became.

The longer it continued, the clearer it became.

He had no chance of winning.

By the end, his confidence was nearly shattered.

Ma Kensei noticed it.

He closed the distance in an instant.

Then delivered the decisive kick.

The Ma Family's Armor-Breaking Kick.

By the time Kim Kaphwan reacted, it was already too late.

The kick went straight through.

It struck his chest and sent him flying.

"My sincere thanks."

Ma Kensei didn't pursue.

The match was already decided.

Kim Kaphwan pushed himself up from the ground, bitterness written on his face.

"There truly are stronger people out there," he said. "As agreed, I'll hand over the KOF invitation."

"Thank you," Ma Kensei replied with a smile.

The Ryozanpaku Team had secured their entry into the main tournament.

Hayato Fūrinji stroked his beard and muttered, "I wonder how the others are doing."

...

Elsewhere on Earth, a battlefield was already drenched in blood.

A group of mercenaries assaulted a heavily fortified base.

They advanced fearlessly.

But the base's defense system was overwhelming.

Breaking through wouldn't be easy.

Then-

A powerful chant echoed across the battlefield.

"Soon, the flames shall be unleashed.

The silently advancing war brings inevitable destruction.

The horn of battle sounds high, plunging all into merciless chaos.

Come-Crimson Flame, Merciless Conflagration.

The Blade of Surtr-my name is Alf!"

Nine-tailed beast Rivaria Ljos Alf stood atop a high platform.

Her chant grew louder.

Upon receiving orders, the mercenaries began retreating in an orderly fashion.

They abandoned weapons and withdrew rapidly.

The defenders inside the base were confused.

But the chanting never stopped.

A massive magic circle unfolded.

It swallowed the entire battlefield.

Flames descended from the sky.

Indiscriminate.

Absolute.

Explosions roared.

A terrifying shockwave tore upward.

The fire consumed everything.

The base vanished in an instant.

Weapons.

Lives.

All erased.

The battlefield became scorched wasteland.

From the rear, Heidern watched silently.

His expression didn't change.

He pulled the KOF invitation from his pocket and handed it to Loki.

"As agreed. It's yours."

Loki accepted it with a smile.

She turned to Ais Wallenstein beside her.

"Call Rivaria back. We're leaving."

Ais nodded and departed.

Soon after, Rivaria returned.

Loki and her team withdrew.

Heidern stared at their retreating figures.

Lost in thought.

Clark finally spoke up. "Instructor... who were those people?"

Heidern shook his head.

He didn't know.

All he knew was that they'd appeared suddenly.

They wanted his KOF invitation.

He'd only just received it.

And truthfully, he hadn't planned to participate this year.

Still, he wouldn't hand it over to unknown outsiders.

So the red-haired woman ordered a child to attack him.

Heidern had fought for decades.

A child didn't scare him.

But he lost.

Completely.

The boy named Finn defeated him cleanly.

Afterward, Finn didn't kill him.

He only demanded the invitation.

Heidern hesitated, then agreed.

He feared for his subordinates.

Before handing it over, he proposed a condition.

If they helped him with a small task, the invitation was theirs.

It was a spur-of-the-moment request.

Even if they refused, he would've handed it over anyway.

But they agreed.

Which led to what had just happened.

That puzzled him most.

They held overwhelming advantage.

Why accept his condition at all?

...

After leaving, Finn finally spoke.

"Loki, you agreed because you want Heidern to join us, don't you?"

Loki smiled.

"What, Finn? You object?"

"Of course not," Finn replied calmly. "Strengthening the Loki Familia is my wish."

The stronger the Familia, the closer he was to strengthening the Pallum race.

He wouldn't refuse that.

Besides, if other worlds had elves and dwarves, there might be Pallums too.

That alone pleased him.

Loki toyed with the invitation.

"Then you'd better perform well in this tournament."

"Only then can the Loki Familia establish itself in this world."

Finn nodded.

"Leave it to us."

He knew the truth.

The native teams-Kusanagi, Yagami-weren't the real threat.

Their true opponents were their allies.

Ryozanpaku's foundation was too shallow.

Even after learning Nen, they lagged far behind.

The Nen Team was similar.

Shizuka Hiratsuka, Michiru KĹŤchi, and Robin were strong.

But still behind.

The Hephaestus Team wasn't much better.

Aside from Tsubaki, the rest lacked depth.

Breathing Forms wouldn't close that gap.

Only one team truly worried him.

The Heroic Spirit Team.

CĂş Chulainn.

Heracles.

Both demigods.

Just those two placed immense pressure on him.

Even with Nen, Finn couldn't confidently say he could beat them.

And then there was Emiya.

Nen.

Haki.

Magic.

Multiple systems combined.

In Finn's eyes, they were the only real obstacle to the championship.

Winning wouldn't be easy.

But Finn never backed down.

"If there's an obstacle," he thought, "I'll clash with it head-on."

...

Meanwhile, the group Finn considered the greatest threat arrived at a luxurious villa complex.

Billy led them to a private training ground.

Waiting there was the ruler of South Town.

The purpose of their visit.

Geese Howard.

He wore a white training uniform with red pants.

His hair was slicked back.

He was practicing Hakkyokuseiken.

Geese had once studied under Tung Fu Rue.

So this was no surprise.

He ignored Emiya's group entirely.

Even as his subordinate brought them in, he continued practicing.

Meticulous.

Focused.

It was intimidation.

A declaration.

He didn't take them seriously.

CĂş Chulainn didn't care.

"Strong punches. Clean footwork," he said. "Disciplined. A good opponent."

"Here I come."

Killing intent erupted.

It locked onto Geese instantly.

CĂş Chulainn moved.

The spear flashed forward like a venomous dragon.

Straight toward Geese's throat.

The moment the killing intent hit, Geese sensed danger.

But he'd underestimated the speed.

By the time he reacted, pain flared at his neck.

Death was inches away.

Still, Geese Howard wasn't ruler of South Town for nothing.

At the last instant, he twisted his body.

The spear missed his throat.

Barely.

The strike grazed past.

Geese retreated.

His heart pounded.

Cold sweat ran down his back.

That single exchange-

Was enough to terrify him.
