Emiya glanced at Red Archer with faint indifference.

It was as if he'd noticed the thoughts from earlier.

He didn't say anything.

The other side hadn't moved.

With Gilgamesh eliminated, there were no remaining obstacles in this Holy Grail War.

Victory was essentially secured.

Red Archer alone meant nothing.

"Let's go," Emiya said. "We're heading back first."

He lifted Illya with psychic power.

"Wait."

Rin Tohsaka suddenly spoke.

She looked toward the church.

"Give me a moment. I have something to say to someone."

Emiya nodded.

He knew who she was going to see.

Kirei Kotomine.

He didn't stop her.

Rin Tohsaka had Red Archer with her.

And with CĂș Chulainn taken and Gilgamesh gone, Kirei Kotomine only had his Command Seals left.

Even if he practiced Bajiquan, he was no match for Red Archer.

While Rin Tohsaka went to confront Kirei Kotomine, Emiya asked Medea to contact someone else.

Bazett.

After Emiya sent her back earlier, she'd been staying at a hotel.

Now she didn't need to.

He had a better place for her.

Not long after, Medea returned with Bazett.

"Wait here a moment," Bazett said.

Then she strode straight into the church.

BOOM!

The church doors shattered.

Bazett smashed them apart with a single punch.

The noise immediately drew the attention of Rin Tohsaka and Kirei Kotomine inside.

"Surprise."

Bazett walked in openly.

Her expression was complicated.

Hatred.

Anger.

Sadness.

This was the man who had betrayed her trust.

The one who had nearly killed her.

"You didn't expect me to survive, did you?"

Her fists clenched as she forced down her rage.

Rin Tohsaka frowned.

"Who are you?"

She had never seen her before.

She instinctively looked at Kirei Kotomine.

"Is this your enemy?"

Kirei Kotomine remained calm.

"In my calculations, the probability of this was low, but never zero," he said evenly. "Congratulations, Bazett. You survived."

Bazett's anger flared.

She stepped forward.

"Do you have no shame, you piece of garbage?"

"Shame?" Kirei Kotomine echoed.

"Why would I feel that? I simply chose the option most favorable to victory."

"If anything-"

"I felt pleasure."

A faint smile appeared on his face.

"When I struck you down and saw that look of confusion, my heart wasn't filled with guilt."

"It was pleasure."

"My heart told me this was it. This feeling."

"Only then did I feel fulfilled."

"Only then did I feel alive."

Bazett stared at him.

Disbelief turned into understanding.

"You're not normal."

She'd worked with him before.

She'd sensed something was wrong.

She just hadn't realized how twisted he truly was.

Kirei Kotomine didn't deny it.

"That's right. I haven't been normal for a long time. But now, I've found my-"

"Enough."

Bazett cut him off.

"I'm done listening to your warped logic."

She lowered her stance.

"Brace yourself, Kirei Kotomine."

The next instant, she charged.

Like a speeding car.

Kirei Kotomine didn't retreat.

He stepped forward and threw a Bajiquan killing move.

Fierce Tiger Climbing the Mountain.

The punch landed.

Bazett absorbed it cleanly.

She was a close-combat specialist.

Neutralizing the strike was easy.

The two clashed immediately.

Fists and bodies collided violently.

Rin Tohsaka took a step forward.

"Archer, help her."

Red Archer stopped her.

"Rin. Don't interfere."

Rin froze.

At the same time, Emiya walked in from outside.

Bazett was completely suppressing Kirei Kotomine.

Despite knowing Bajiquan, Kirei Kotomine couldn't keep up.

Bazett was a martial-arts-oriented magus.

Her combat ability surpassed his current self.

She was stronger than Souichirou Kuzuki as well.

This wasn't a contest.

Of course, the Kirei Kotomine from the Fourth Holy Grail War would've been different.

But ten years had passed.

His body was past its peak.

Bazett, on the other hand, was in her twenties.

Prime condition.

When Rin Tohsaka saw Emiya, she asked quietly, "Who is she?"

"Bazett," Emiya replied. "CĂș Chulainn's former Master. She was once Kirei Kotomine's ally."

"He cut off her left arm and stole CĂș Chulainn from her."

Rin Tohsaka: ...

That was hatred carved into bone.

No wonder she attacked the moment she arrived.

If it were Rin, she wouldn't have talked either.

Bang.

Bazett finally broke through his guard.

Her fist slammed into Kirei Kotomine's chest.

He was sent flying like an arrow.

He crashed into the wall behind him.

The wall collapsed.

Kirei Kotomine didn't move.

The bones in his chest were shattered.

Continuing to fight would only cause the fragments to pierce his organs.

"It seems... this is your victory, Bazett."

Even at death's door, his expression barely changed.

He had no reverence for death.

More accurately-

He didn't care.

Bazett looked at him for a long moment.

In the end, she didn't deliver the finishing blow.

"We're even."

She turned and walked away.

Last time, after cutting off her arm, he'd left her to die.

This time, she did the same.

Whether he lived-

That was up to fate.

Emiya smiled faintly and left with Bazett.

He didn't look back.

To him, Kirei Kotomine was nothing more than a man chasing pleasure.

Rin Tohsaka stepped forward.

She wanted to heal Kirei Kotomine.

Red Archer stopped her.

"Think carefully, Rin."

"What do you mean?"

Red Archer hesitated.

Then spoke.

"You haven't finished the manga he gave you, have you?"

"Kirei Kotomine killed your father ten years ago."

"What?!"

Rin felt as if she'd been struck by lightning.

She froze.

After a long moment, she looked at Kirei Kotomine, slumped against the wall, blood spilling from his mouth.

"Is that true, Kirei?"

He nodded calmly.

"Yes. I killed my master."

"With the dagger I gave you."

Rin subconsciously pulled out an exquisite dagger.

A smile crept onto Kirei Kotomine's face.

"Do you know how I felt when I saw you cherish the weapon I used to kill your father?"

"That pleasure was... exquisite."

The smile widened.

Rin Tohsaka's expression vanished.

She lowered her head.

Her bangs hid her eyes.

No one could see her face.

But Red Archer could feel it.

She was suppressing her rage.

After a long silence, Rin didn't strike.

She turned and walked away.

She already knew.

Even without her intervention, Kirei Kotomine wouldn't survive.

Red Archer followed her.

Tears scattered into the air.

Outside, Rin rejoined Emiya's group.

"Where are we going now?" she asked quietly.

Emiya understood.

She'd learned the truth.

"We're collecting our spoils of victory."

"Spoils?" Rin frowned. "What spoils?"

Half an hour later, she had her answer.

On the outskirts of Fuyuki stood an old castle.

The Einzbern stronghold.

Now-

Emiya's base.

After all, Illyasviel von Einzbern was already his captive.

Inside the castle were Illya and two maids.

Sella and Leysritt.

Einzbern homunculi.

When they detected intruders, they rushed out immediately.

Leysritt wielded a massive magic axe-spear.

Sella carried no weapon.

She wasn't a combat unit.

But when they saw Illya in Emiya's grasp-

And realized Berserker was gone-

They dropped their weapons.

They surrendered.

Illya's safety mattered more than anything.

Surrender was their only choice.
