Emiya had fought his way from the first floor all the way to the seventeenth.
The Dragon of Greed had devoured an enormous amount of monster life force.
At this moment, Emiya could clearly feel it.
Every cell in his body was saturated with powerful vitality.
He was already too full.
If he kept eating, he would probably explode.
So he didn't dare let the Dragon of Greed continue.
He could only finish off the remaining minotaurs as quickly as possible.
Tiona looked a little surprised.
"So you have limits too. I thought you could just keep eating."
"Everyone has limits. I'm no exception," Emiya replied calmly. "Alright, I'm heading back now. Have fun."
"We're not here to have fun. We're training."
"Sorry, sorry. Then I hope your training goes smoothly."
Emiya nodded toward Riveria and the others, opened his Portal, and stepped inside.
The next second, he appeared inside Orario's famous restaurant.
The Goddess' Feast.
Emiya turned around, waved at Riveria and the others, and closed the Portal.
By then, he had been in the dungeon for several hours.
When he returned, the restaurant was empty of customers.
Only Gin Dojima and the others were present.
"Hm? Where's Hestia?" Emiya scanned the room.
Gin Dojima replied, "Goddess Hestia went to attend a divine meeting. We don't know when she'll be back."
Emiya immediately understood.
Divine meetings were common in Orario.
Any god could host one, anytime.
As long as a god initiated it, most others would attend.
After all, the gods in the lower world had plenty of free time.
"Since Hestia isn't here, we'll leave her alone for now," Emiya said. "One of you stay behind to watch the restaurant. The rest come with me. I'll take you to meet the new chef I mentioned."
No one objected.
But when it came to deciding who stayed behind-
No one volunteered.
Everyone wanted to see this chef Emiya had talked about.
Gin Dojima rubbed his temples.
A headache was coming on.
"In that case, rock-paper-scissors."
Everyone looked at one another and nodded.
So they started playing.
Emiya didn't stop them.
He watched with interest.
He thought it would drag on.
Instead, it ended in one round.
After Gin Dojima shouted "three, two, one," most people threw rock.
Only Jun Shiomi threw scissors.
So the result was immediate.
Jun Shiomi stayed.
No one had expected that outcome.
Not even Emiya.
Joichiro Yukihira laughed and slapped Jun Shiomi on the shoulder.
"A bet's a bet. You stay and watch the place. We'll bring you back something good."
Jun Shiomi didn't respond.
She drove her elbow straight into his stomach.
He'd bullied her back in school.
Now he was still doing it.
Did he think she had no temper?
This was her long-overdue retaliation.
With a dull thud, Joichiro Yukihira dropped to his knees, clutching his stomach and foaming at the mouth.
Completely incapacitated.
Jun Shiomi exhaled deeply, wiped nonexistent sweat from her brow, and smiled brightly at Emiya.
"Looks like Joichiro-senpai will also be staying behind with me, Lord Emiya."
Emiya: ...
In the end, Emiya could only leave behind the collapsed Joichiro Yukihira and Jun Shiomi to watch the restaurant.
He took the others and left the DanMachi world.
They entered the world of Cooking Master Boy.
After Emiya returned, Madam Pai, who had already received word, hurried over with Karin and Mao.
"You're back, Mr. Emiya."
A few hours earlier, Emiya had vanished right in front of her.
It had genuinely frightened her.
Seeing him safe now, she finally relaxed.
"I'm back," Emiya nodded, then pulled Erina Nakiri forward. "Madam Pai, this is the personal chef I mentioned. Erina Nakiri."
"Erina Nakiri? Japanese?" Madam Pai looked surprised.
She examined Erina carefully.
No matter how one looked at her, she was a striking beauty.
"That's right. She's Japanese," Emiya said. "Come. Let's sit and talk."
He had everyone take a seat and introduced them one by one.
Finally, Emiya gestured toward Madam Pai.
"This is the head chef of Kikkaro Restaurant in Sichuan. The supreme Dragon Chef of Chinese cuisine. The Fairy Pai."
Madam Pai flushed red.
"You can just call me Madam Pai."
Gin Dojima and the others were quietly astonished.
That title alone carried immense weight.
Even Michelin three-star chefs didn't compare.
Emiya continued, "They're all chefs from Japan. Masters of various cuisines. They came today hoping to learn about the depth of Chinese cooking from you."
Madam Pai nodded, understanding immediately.
"I wouldn't dare teach. We can improve together. I'm also very interested in cuisines from around the world."
Emiya smiled.
"Then let's head to the kitchen."
He led everyone inside Kikkaro Restaurant's kitchen.
"Each of you prepare one signature dish," Emiya said. "Let Madam Pai taste them."
"If you're missing ingredients, just tell me."
Gin Dojima and the others nodded and got to work.
Even Erina Nakiri and Hisako Arato joined in.
Everyone prepared their specialty.
If something was missing, Emiya created it on the spot.
Madam Pai watched closely.
There were many spices she'd never seen before.
She found them fascinating.
After all, the Qing Dynasty had closed itself off.
Foreigners were rare.
Foreign cuisine even more so.
These dishes broadened her perspective.
Then her eyes suddenly lit up.
"That girl is making medicinal cuisine," she whispered to Emiya.
Emiya glanced over, then looked away.
"That's Hisako. Erina's secretary. She specializes in medicinal cuisine."
About an hour later, all the dishes were complete.
Gin Dojima prepared a bowl of ramen that looked simple, yet carried a rich aroma.
Mana Nakiri made a Western-style steak.
Sonoko Kikuchi prepared a fruit salad that appeared deceptively plain.
Takumi Kakuzaki made Spanish paella.
Fuyumi Mizuhara cooked Italian tomato pasta.
Rindou Kobayashi presented a French mushroom mille-feuille.
Momo Akanekubo, naturally, made a dessert cake.
Nene Kinokuni prepared traditional Japanese kaiseki.
Erina Nakiri made oden.
And Hisako Arato made medicinal cuisine.
It was a shame Jun Shiomi and Joichiro Yukihira weren't there.
Madam Pai smiled faintly.
"I'll begin tasting."
She started with Gin Dojima's ramen.
Ramen had originated in China.
There were countless varieties.
Hollow noodles.
Dragon beard noodles.
Stuffed noodles.
Water noodles.
Oil noodles.
But after being introduced to Japan, it evolved.
It became something distinct.
A completely different flavor.
Fresh broth.
Chewy noodles.
Smoked chashu.
Pickled bamboo shoots.
Green onions.
A classic Japanese ramen.
Japanese ramen was divided into broth ramen and soup ramen.
Gin Dojima had prepared soup ramen.
The base was fish broth.
Milky white.
Fresh, but not greasy.
Madam Pai sipped the broth.
The flavor slid down her throat.
Her tongue was wrapped in the taste of the sea.
Her face flushed slightly.
A low sound escaped her lips.
This was exactly what made Food Wars chefs dangerous.
Their cooking always felt borderline illegal.
"It's a wonderful flavor," Madam Pai praised.
She picked up her chopsticks and tasted the noodles.
"The texture is excellent as well."
"This truly reaches Super Chef level."
Erina Nakiri leaned toward Emiya.
"What's a Super Chef?"
"It's a certified title here," Emiya explained. "Every four years, there's a national exam. Only those who pass can be called Super Chefs."
"So it's an officially recognized chef rank?"
"That's right."
"Then what about Dragon Chef?"
Erina hadn't forgotten the title Emiya used earlier.
"That's honorary," Emiya said. "Only Super Chefs can even be considered."
"So Dragon Chefs are above Super Chefs?"
"You could say that."
Emiya nodded.
Most Dragon Chefs were indeed stronger.
After finishing the ramen, Madam Pai moved on to Mana Nakiri's steak.
It was her first time tasting a purely Western dish.
"It's very novel," she said. "Refreshing, and unforgettable."
Then she continued sampling the rest of the dishes, one by one.
