A bunch of giant, lizard-like beings land on the ground. Their tails are larger than buildings and their feet cover a large area.
The ground shakes, the earth trembles, and houses collapse. People fall here and there:
"Whoa! What the hell is going on?"
"An earthquake?"
One of them roars looking at humans beneath them and says:
"I am... The chosen one!"
The creature picks up its foot, and before it reaches the ground someone stops it. The creature looks down and sees Marshal holding its foot.
It says:
"Oh! A mere human can stop my foot? Interesting."
Marshal pushes it away and it vanishes. He stands there as Shi no Karasu appears in his hand and says:
"You don't have central heterochromia that means you're not him. So stop bragging and shut up!"
He runs to jump on the roof of one house and then flies towards the shoulder of the third creature.
His body is emitting black radiation which vanishes the creature—doesn't kill it.
Marshal lands on a building as he looks at his hands and says:
"Great! All this without any alien form? Looks like my body is adapting faster than I thought."
Just then, Akuchi appears out of nowhere and runs towards him. Marshal sees him, and starts waving his hand:
"Oh, here you are!"
Akuchi doesn't listen to him; instead, he keeps his hand on his shoulder and jumps in the air.
Marshal is standing there in shock:
"What...?"
Akuchi performs a B-twist kick; his cloak waves in the air, and his eyes shine as he cuts an enormous invisible creature into two pieces in the air.
The creature vanishes, Akuchi teleports on top of the building, and calmly tells Marshal:
"Be cautious! These species can hide their presence."
Marshal is stunned to see what Akuchi just did, as he says:
"A-Alright! But, what are these and why would they invade our planet?"
Akuchi replies:
"They're known as Reegers, a race of species from a different world. Which were born because humanity exists."
Marshal mumbles:
"What do you mean by humanity exists? Do they eat humans or something?"
Akuchi says:
"No, they don't eat humans; rather, they consume hatred, love, tears, and smiles. In short, they consume every emotion from humanity to be born."
Marshal speaks to himself:
"I don't know why but I feel like I've seen them before. A faint picture of me seeing the Reegers for the first time. These beings aren't strangers to Earth, and maybe this isn't their first time here, too..."
Suddenly, he hears Arai saying to Akuchi:
"I thought you were an introvert, but it looks like you're good at revealing information."
Marshal looks at him and then at the bag of cookies he's holding in one hand, as he says:
"What the... When did you come here?"
Arai munches his cookie and says:
"What are you saying? I've been here since they invaded."
Marshal furrows his brows and says:
"Then why didn't you help me?"
Arai replies:
"Umm, I was eating my last piece of cookie. Oh, yeah... This bag is yours; my wife cooked them so I thought it'd be better to share some with you."
Marshal hesitantly grabs the bag and says:
"Thank you! But, since when did you have a wife?"
Arai falls on the ground:
"I've been married for a year now. Why can't you remember it?"
Marshal scratches the back of his head and hesitantly smiles:
"R-Right! If you say so then I think you do have a wife."
Arai sighs:
"C'mon..."
Marshal whispers to Arai:
"Am I supposed to share my cookies with Akuchi-san?"
Arai shakes his head:
"Nah! He started disliking sweets a long time ago."
Marshal says:
"Oh, bu-"
A lady in her mid-20s, wearing the same cloak as Akuchi, cuts him and says:
"HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO KEEP STANDING HERE, YOU JERKS! GET BACK TO WORK."
Her lavender-silver hair moves as she walks and her pink eyes sparkle with a glow of dangerous power. Marshal sees her and says:
"Ashy, when did you come back here?"
She slaps him and says:
"Miss Ashy for you, Dumbo!"
Marshal rolls his eyes and sighs:
"GAWDDDD... ALRIGHT! ALRIGHT! MISS ASHY... What are YOU doing here?"
She says angrily:
"Can you see Akuchi-kun here?"
They both shake their heads. She grabs both their collars:
"It's because he is fighting the Reegers on his own. Why don't you guys go help him?"
That's when a giant Reeger appears in front of them with multiple eyes, arms, and tails.
Ashy sighs and says:
"Guess I'll have to take care of these bastards."
She runs towards the Reeger and starts fighting it. Marshal says:
"Sensei?"
Arai replies:
"Hmph?"
Marshal asks:
"I... forgot who she was?"
Arai gasps looking at him and speaks to himself:
"He is forgetting things that he used to remember, which means the cursed bindings on Shi no Karasu are showing negative symptoms."
He says to Marshal:
"She is the girlfriend of Akuchi. Same organization, different clans. She had a crush on him and he accepted her. Can you recall it now?"
Marshal nods:
"Oh! Yeah, I remember it now."
Arai sighs and says:
"I wonder where Aku-"
Ashy yells at him:
"PLEASE! HELP!"
Marshal tightly holds Shi no Karasu and is ready to run but Arai stops him and says:
"Stay back; I'll take care of it."
Arai walks while saying:
"Marshal! Do as I say, stop using Shi no Karasu and force your mind to release more Empo than Diu."
Marshal replies:
"O-Okay!"
Arai takes a deep breath and takes on his alien form. He transforms—his body white, lean, athletic body, black eyes, and golden radiation emitting from him.
The sheer light coming from his form blinds the Reeger as it says:
"I CAN'T... SEE ANYTHING! WHY?"
Arai jumps saying:
"Too bad you can't see."
He kicks it in the chin and it vanishes. He lands on the ground. Ashy smiles mischievously:
"Your light... It doesn't work on me!"
Arai replies:
"Because I don't want it to. If I allow my powers, then you'll be erased too!"
Ashy raises her brow while smiling and says:
"I see! So you haven't changed at all."
He says to her:
"Stay with him. I'm going to check on Akuchi."
She says to Marshal:
"Howdy! Sorry, I was a bit angry because you two... Ugh! You two just never stop yapping about random stuff!"
Marshal snaps his fingers, summoning two chairs and a table with two cups of coffee, he sits down and says:
"I want to relax. Because my head is dizzy. It's hard for me to stand. Join me if you want to..."
Ashy sits down speaking to herself:
"Is something wrong going on with him? It's not his usual self at all."
He asks:
"Is something wrong?"
She shakes her head:
"No!"
He takes a sip and says:
"Do you know anything about Reegers, Miss Ashy?"
She smiles looking at him:
"Just like your sensei, I know everything too."
He sits back:
"Alright! Then tell me..."
She nods and says:
"Cool! I will try to keep it short. So, Reegers have three types—Tyrneks, Varkyns, and Astryns. They also have a king who leads them. They fear him the most so they can't act on their own."
He mumbles:
"King, you say? I see... What about the types... I mean is there any difference between each type?"
She replies:
"Yeah! There is a big difference between each type. Tyrneks are the third type—the one we fought just now. They have larger bodies. They know one thing only and it's destruction..."
He asks:
"They're dumb intelligence-wise, right?"
She says:
"Yes! Just like you."
He gasps:
"What did you say?"
She chuckles:
"N-Nothing, hehe!"
Arai walks in alongside Akuchi, and reveals furthermore:
"Varkyns are the second type and they're usually much smaller than Tyrneks. The usual pattern of Reegers is that they start with the last type and slowly move towards the highest type. Intelligence-wise they're like Ashy."
Marshal says:
"Well, well... Looks like the second form is dumb too!"
Ashy furrows her brows:
"What did you say?"
Marshal chuckles the same way:
"N-Nothing, hehe!"
She throws her shoe at him and he falls on the ground. She looks to her right while sighing but then gasps, and she starts blushing as she says:
"H-Hey!"
Akuchi is sitting calmly, he sees her and says:
"How are you doing?"
They both start talking to each other. When Marshal asks Arai:
"You didn't tell me about Astryns."
Arai replies:
"Let's not talk about it for now. There might be a time when you'll know them better. Instead of getting to know their last type now, it's better to wait for it."
Suddenly, they hear a big blast and a building falls down. All of them stand up. Ashy says to Arai:
"Last Group?"
Arai replies:
"I think so."
Akuchi says:
"There's no sign of Tyrneks."
Marshal continues:
"Which means..."
They all say at once:
"THE VARKYNS ARE HERE!"
