Chapter 114 - Chapter 114 - Rewards Secured (2 in 1 chapter)

When it came to dismantling the Destroyer, Li Feng did indeed have the perfect spell for it—the signature magic of Kamar-Taj: the Portal.

After all, this was a spatial-class spell, infinitely more efficient than water blades or laser cutters. So now, while the Destroyer was trapped in the time-stasis spell, Li Feng quickly opened a portal above its head and looped it around the Destroyer's neck.

However, Li Feng had clearly underestimated Asgard's pinnacle of technology.

Just as he closed the portal, he awkwardly realized that sparks of orange-yellow fire were spraying from the Destroyer's neck, as if a metal-cutting machine were at work.

Was this the effect of the closing portal grinding against the Destroyer's neck?

"What the hell?" Li Feng blinked at the headless torso of the Destroyer, then looked up at the lone metal head hovering a hundred meters in the air. "The Destroyer can even resist spatial magic?"

Sif and the Warriors Three were merely warriors, not particularly knowledgeable about magic, so they paid little attention to the water enveloping the Destroyer—at most, they assumed it was some kind of freezing spell immobilizing it.

But the effect of the portal was far too obvious, especially with the metal head floating high above. Sif and the others widened their eyes in shock and exclaimed, "Spatial magic?"

Yet Li Feng's spatial magic clearly disappointed them—the effect seemed far too weak, failing to even cleanly sever the Destroyer.

Suddenly, Sif noticed that the portal had been positioned right on the Destroyer's armor, giving her a vague understanding of the situation.

Earlier, when she had stabbed the Destroyer, she had aimed for the gaps in its plating. She knew full well that even though her twin-bladed sword was a divine weapon, it was no match for the Destroyer's armor.

Had she dared to strike the armored sections, the result would have been either failing to pierce it or her trusted sword shattering on impact.

Thus, the narrow gaps between the Destroyer's armor plates were its weak points.

Realizing this, Sif looked up at Li Feng and shouted, "Mage, aim your spatial magic at the gaps in the Destroyer's armor!"

But Sif's warning was a little too loud—not only did Li Feng hear it clearly and understand what to do, but Loki, who was controlling the Destroyer from Asgard, also heard it perfectly. Loki now realized that before he could kill Thor, he had to deal with Li Feng first.

Otherwise, if Li Feng's spatial magic truly disassembled the Destroyer and scattered its parts across the globe, wouldn't that delay his plans to kill Thor? What if his mother or "stepfather" woke up and stopped him?

Thinking this, Loki immediately took control of the Destroyer, breaking free from the time-stasis spell, and made the floating head of the Destroyer open its visor, unleashing a barrage of energy blasts at Li Feng.

Just as Li Feng was about to cast another portal, he suddenly felt every hair on his body stand on end, and a sharp pain stabbed through his forehead.

Sensing the danger, he instinctively dodged to the side, then broke out in a cold sweat as a high-energy beam scorched past where he had just stood. Sniffing the burnt smell from his hair as it was singed by the intense heat passing by, Li Feng looked up at the Destroyer's head with lingering fear and shouted, "Damn you, Loki! You dare play for real with me?! Just wait till I tell Thor your little secret—that you're a man who loves men!"

Nearby, the Warriors Three instinctively clenched their buttocks, staring at Li Feng in utter bewilderment: That statement carried way too much information.

Seeing the comically bulging eyes of Sif and the others, Li Feng couldn't resist spinning the tale further for his own amusement. "I'm telling the truth! Think about it—Loki came to Earth before to see Thor, who was completely powerless at the time. So why didn't Loki kill Thor then?"

"Because back then, Loki didn't know Thor had fallen for Jane," Li Feng stroked his chin, putting on a serious face. "Later, when Loki found out Thor had a lover, it drove him absolutely mad—after all, he's deeply in love with Thor himself."

"You all know that some women, upon discovering their lover's infidelity, are capable of anything—even contemplating killing the one they love," Li Feng said with a dark chuckle after a pause. "Although Loki may seem like a boy, he does have a bit of a maiden's heart. So, it's understandable if he harbors thoughts similar to those of a jilted woman, right?"

"Here, I solemnly remind everyone: be cautious in love, and even more so in breakups. If handled poorly, lives could be lost."

Li Feng's twisted explanation not only left the visitors from the Celestial Palace utterly dumbfounded but also drew an 'aha' look from Coulson in the distance as he glanced at Thor: So Loki came to Earth not for the throne but to steal a man! What an eye-opener.

Jane and Thor exchanged equally speechless glances: Even though they knew he was spouting nonsense, they couldn't help but feel there was some twisted logic to it.

Meanwhile, back in Asgard, Loki felt his face burning with humiliation: That little human mage actually knows my secret—wait, no! How dare you slander the noble Asa King of Gods? Kid, you're done for. I'm going to kill you!

Fuming to the point of trembling, Loki outright abandoned his attacks on Sif and the others. Instead, he directed the Destroyer's head to unleash a barrage of high-temperature beams at Li Feng while simultaneously controlling the Destroyer to charge at him with wild punches.

Unfazed, Li Feng dodged the incoming beams and summoned a portal in front of him. He then manipulated the other end of the portal—positioned near the Destroyer—to slide along the ground beneath its feet before lifting it upward.

As the portal reached the Destroyer's waist and transported its lower half right before Li Feng, he immediately relinquished control, letting the portal close. He sighed in frustration as the portal clamped shut around the Destroyer's midsection.

Damn it, the portal didn't align with the gaps—it didn't slice through the Destroyer's armor.

What followed was a scene both comical and absurd. The Destroyer's head remained high in the sky, relentlessly firing beams at Li Feng, while its lower half appeared right in front of him, serving as an impromptu shield against the attacks.

Its own head attacking its own legs—Sif and the others were astounded: Is this how battles can be fought?

Meanwhile, the Destroyer's neck and waist crackled with orange-yellow sparks, floating inexplicably in midair before everyone's eyes.

Perhaps Loki couldn't quite discern what lay before the Destroyer's torso. At times, he controlled its arms to throw clumsy punches at empty air, and at others, he flailed wildly as if swatting at invisible flies.

This only added to the hilarity of the scene.

Truth be told, Li Feng's control over the portal wasn't precise enough to perfectly align it with the gaps in the Destroyer's armor in one go. But it didn't matter. If he couldn't slice through the Destroyer in one go, he'd just do it a few more times. Conveniently, the Destroyer's lower limbs were right in front of him, giving Li Feng a good view—close enough to see the leg hair, or rather, the precise location of the seams.

Thinking this, Li Feng took advantage of the Destroyer's legs acting as a makeshift shield for him. With another wave of his hand, he opened a portal right in front of him, keeping it flush against the ground as it slid forward, successfully encircling the Destroyer's thigh.

This time, however, Li Feng waited until he had a clear view of the seam before relinquishing control of the portal.

The moment the portal closed, Li Feng grinned as he watched one of the Destroyer's thighs cleanly severed along the seam.

Without hesitation, Li Feng pulled a nesting doll from his satchel and swiftly sealed the severed metal thigh inside. Top-tier materials acquired—finally, I can forge a Magical Artifact! So satisfying!

Truth be told, ever since Mordo had warned him that the design of his staff might expose his identity as a dark sorcerer to the Sanctum Masters, Li Feng had been considering crafting a new Magical Artifact.

Unfortunately, back then, he'd been too preoccupied with figuring out how to conjure a nuclear fusion fireball to bother designing his ideal weapon.

So he'd made do with his only Magical Artifact—the scythe.

Later, however, after the scythe absorbed Carter Slade, its power suddenly surged. This forced Li Feng to wield it with extreme caution, as it was now a weapon that harmed even its own user.

Worse, it was the kind that endlessly drained the wielder's vitality, like a bottomless pit.

Even a god wouldn't last long with a weapon that constantly siphoned their life force, let alone Li Feng, who was still only mortal.

This made him all the more determined to forge his own Magical Artifact.

But at the time, he'd been frustrated. Sure, he'd figured out the nuclear fusion fireball, and he now had the time and energy to craft a new weapon—but most of his materials had been left behind in The Mask universe. Without materials, forging a new artifact was impossible.

Unless the Ancient One was willing to lend him a batch of forging materials—but that was never going to happen.

The Ancient One wasn't his mother. Why would she keep helping him over and over?

So when he learned the Thor storyline had begun, Li Feng set his sights on the Destroyer. The thing was made of precious materials.

And he wasn't worried about being unable to melt it down. He was now a man with Hellfire at his command. Once he mastered it, he could reshape the Destroyer's metal however he pleased, thanks to Hellfire's reality-warping properties.

Just as Li Feng gleefully tossed the nesting doll back into his satchel, Loki seemed to realize he wouldn't be able to deal with Li Feng anytime soon.

Gritting his teeth, Loki decided to abandon his pursuit of Li Feng for now, silently vowing to teach him a proper lesson later. Instead, he redirected the Destroyer's head and unleashed a searing beam of energy straight at Thor. Though Thor couldn't wield his divine power, his combat experience remained. When the Destroyer's head turned toward him, he immediately sensed danger. Without hesitation, he pushed Jane aside and executed various tactical dodges.

Seeing that the first high-temperature beam had missed, Loki wasn't anxious. He calmly adjusted his aim and fired another beam at Thor.

Meanwhile, Li Feng was patting his satchel with satisfaction.

Just as he was considering whether to dismantle the Destroyer's other leg to forge some armor, he heard Sif shouting from afar: "Mage, help Thor!"

Alright, time for battle.

With a regretful glance at the metal leg before him, Li Feng located Thor and waved his hand, opening a portal to Antarctica in front of Thor. The Destroyer's high-temperature beam was instantly redirected to the South Pole.

Thor had become a walking disaster indicator—wherever he ran, the Destroyer's beams followed.

Though Thor skillfully evaded each attack thanks to years of experience, the buildings and townspeople behind him weren't so lucky. Houses collapsed, cars exploded, and the scene was utter chaos.

Only when the portal appeared before him did Thor get a moment to catch his breath and think.

But it was just a brief respite—Loki had already figured out how to counter the portal.

As mentioned before, the Destroyer's beams could melt anything, including portals. While Thor hid behind the portal, Loki controlled the Destroyer's head to fire relentlessly at the portals wrapped around its waist and neck, shattering them.

However, with one of the Destroyer's legs sealed away by Li Feng, Loki had no immediate solution. The Destroyer could only hop comically on one leg toward Thor.

"Mage!" Sif rushed to Thor's side, checking him for injuries while calling out to Li Feng. "Quick, find a way to stop the Destroyer!"

Li Feng scratched his head, watching the absurd sight of the hopping Destroyer, and shrugged. "I'll try breaking it down and sending it into space."

As he spoke, he hurled a mass of water at the Destroyer, then transformed into black mist and flew behind it. Opening a portal to outer space, he swiftly looped it around the Destroyer's neck.

But this time, there was a slight hiccup—the Destroyer suddenly shrank in size.

Normally, that wouldn't be an issue. Shrink or not, the portal would still slice through. However, to Li Feng's dismay, the gaps in the Destroyer's armor became invisible to the naked eye after shrinking. This made Li Feng throw up his hands on the spot, thinking: This thing must be related to lobsters, the kind with retractable shells.

After some consideration, Li Feng relinquished control of the portal, allowing the orange-yellow ring of light to encircle the Destroyer's neck like a headless horseman, while systematically teleporting its arms and legs into outer space.

Feeling somewhat safer, Li Feng turned his head and asked, "Sif, what's going on now?"

Sif widened her eyes at the shrunken Destroyer and shrugged, indicating she had no idea either.

She had only heard of the Destroyer's fearsome reputation before, but fighting it was a first for her—like a maiden getting married for the first time. She couldn't figure out what to make of the Destroyer's current state, reduced to just a spherical torso on Earth.

Fortunately, Thor knew what was happening.

To put it simply, the Destroyer's towering form was ill-suited for Odin's physique.

Moreover, the gaps in the Destroyer's armor were obvious weak points. Why would Odin wear a battle suit with such glaring vulnerabilities? That would just be asking for trouble.

So, the towering Destroyer was merely its automatic or telepathically controlled form. Once Odin donned it, the armor would adjust to fit his body—what Li Feng called "shrinking"—with each metal plate overlapping like fish scales, perfectly concealing the gaps and enhancing the armor's protective capabilities.

Thor also knew that in this form, the portals would be useless against the Destroyer.

Sure enough, within seconds, the portal around the Destroyer's head shattered first, followed by high-temperature beams from its head destroying the portals on its arms and legs.

Li Feng's lips twitched as he prepared to teleport the Destroyer's limbs into space again, while grimacing at Thor and Sif: "Brother, sister, my magic isn't infinite. Please hurry up and come up with a solution, or once my energy runs out, I won't be able to hold this thing back any longer."

Knowing his companions and Li Feng had done their best, Thor's eyes reddened as he glanced at the nearly ruined town around him. Taking a deep breath, he pushed away Sif's supporting hand. "Sif, you must return to Asgard and stop Loki from making even greater mistakes."

"What about you?" Sif faintly sensed that Thor was no longer the hammer-wielding warrior of old but a gentler mortal.

Yet now, a mortal clearly couldn't participate in a battle against the Destroyer. But Thor's words suggested he had a way to end the fight, which filled her with unease. She whispered, "What are you planning to do?"

Thor had made up his mind. Li Feng and the others could only delay the Destroyer in its normal state—destroying it was impossible.

In that case, he might as well use his life to quell Loki's rage. At least no more innocents would die for him.

With reddened eyes, Thor muttered, "I'll end this farce," and slowly walked toward the Destroyer. Yes, a farce—that was Thor's current assessment of Loki's actions.

As the Destroyer broke free from the portal once more, standing on one foot before Thor, the latter looked up at it and said, "Brother, whether I ever wronged you before, whether it was my guidance that led you to this point, I apologize. But these people are innocent. Killing them will bring you no glory."

Thor turned his head to glance at Jane in the distance, as if seeing the woman he loved before death was a kind of blessing. The corners of his lips curled into a smile, though his tone carried a hint of regret for not being able to stay with her longer. "If you must kill, kill me. End this battle that should never have existed."

To be honest, Thor's apology filled Loki with a sense of smug satisfaction. This was something he had long desired but never obtained. After all, the Thor of the past had been as stubborn as an ox, never admitting his mistakes even when he was wrong. This made Loki's lips curl slightly. Maybe he should spare Thor this time and come back to chat—and hear him apologize—when he was in a bad mood?

But the moment Loki remembered that as long as Thor lived, the throne of Asgard would never be his, his mood soured.

After a moment's thought, Loki controlled the Destroyer to turn around, then backhanded Thor, sending him flying. Damn it, in his last moments, he wasn't even looking at me but at some Midgardian woman!

Watch how I—no, watch how I smack you to death!

The current Thor couldn't withstand the Destroyer's strength and was immediately sent flying over ten meters away. Seeing this, Jane, despite the danger of the Destroyer still being present, rushed toward Thor with a panicked expression, tears in her eyes as she knelt beside him.

Li Feng glanced at the retreating Destroyer, then floated over to Thor. He passed his right hand over his eyes, carefully observing the changes in Thor's spirit.

After a moment, Li Feng smirked and said, "Should I say 'as expected of a god, his vitality is truly impressive,' or should I say Loki went easy on him? He beat Thor to the brink of death but still left him with a good ten days or half a month to be saved?"

Nearby, Coulson, who had been recording the battle footage, quietly approached Li Feng. He glanced at Thor, whose chest was barely rising, and whispered, "Are you saying Thor can still be saved?"

The moment Coulson finished speaking, deep within the distant base, the seal on Mjolnir was officially lifted by Odin.

The instant the seal was broken, Mjolnir, which had nearly gone mad from confinement, joyfully shot into the sky. The moment it sensed Thor's barely clinging life, it erupted with a sonic boom and raced toward him.

Of course, Mjolnir was, after all, a divine weapon, and its entrance naturally came with the grandeur befitting one. Dark clouds gathered in its wake, thunder and lightning serving as its entourage.

Honestly, Li Feng thought the hammer had a serious flair for the dramatic.

Seeing the hammer flying toward him, Li Feng grabbed Coulson with one hand and lifted Jane with the other, flying them all to safety. At the same time, he couldn't resist a playful thought, shouting internally: Thunder's here, rain's coming, better hurry home and get the laundry!

By the time Li Feng confirmed they had reached a safe distance, Jane stared in disbelief at the spot where Thor had nearly died.

The seemingly dead Thor suddenly grasped Mjolnir. In the next instant, a blinding bolt of lightning tore through the stormy skies, shattering the seals binding him into fragments.

With his divine power restored, Thor immediately donned his gleaming silver armor and vibrant red cape. After dramatically glancing back at Jane, he swung his hammer and charged toward the Destroyer.

Coulson rubbed his eyes and whispered, "Is this what Thor normally looks like?"

The appearance of the hammer-wielding Thunder God also signaled the impending end of Thor's journey on Earth, which made Li Feng inwardly sigh in relief.

To be honest, after managing to snatch one of the Destroyer's legs, Li Feng had already prepared to retreat at any moment. After all, this was reality, not a movie—who knew if Thor might actually end up being killed by Loki?

Hearing Coulson's question, Li Feng shrugged. "How should I know? Maybe." Pausing, he turned to Coulson, who was still recording, and asked, "Did you manage to capture my heroic moments earlier?"

With a barely concealed twitch at the corner of his eye, Coulson nodded against his better judgment, immediately boasting about his top-notch photography skills: "Rest assured, I've got it covered."

Nearby, Jane rolled her eyes at Li Feng. This guy's got some nerve. Earlier, all five of you couldn't handle the Destroyer, and now you think Thor alone can take down that broken machine? Still, she couldn't help but admire Thor in his armor. He looks so dashing...

Her eyes practically sparkling with hearts, Jane wiped the drool from the corner of her mouth. Glancing at Thor's heroic display, she snapped at Li Feng, "Can you two keep it down? What if you distract Thor during the fight?"

Li Feng and Coulson exchanged a look, silently reaching an understanding: Well, she's got the God of Thunder backing her now—better not mess with her.

Meanwhile, though Thor was thoroughly enjoying the fight, after a few attacks, he realized his normal strikes weren't doing much against the weakened Destroyer.

Deciding it was time to unleash his ultimate move, Thor began spinning Mjolnir at blinding speed, generating a massive whirlwind.

To Coulson, the whirlwind was just a whirlwind—no different from an ordinary tornado, albeit with slightly stronger suction.

But to Li Feng, it was something else entirely. First, the whirlwind was brimming with immense energy, amplifying every strike Thor delivered.

Second, this energy disrupted Earth's magnetic field, even distorting gravity itself.

Thanks to the gravitational interference, the one-legged Destroyer—already Thor's primary target—was forcibly lifted from the ground, floating helplessly in midair.

Moments later, sensing his power fully charged, Thor wasted no time. He swung his hammer and charged at the Destroyer, overwhelming its systems to the point where it couldn't decide whether to defend or counterattack.

And so, amidst a deafening explosion, the Destroyer's systems succumbed to indecision—reduced to scrap metal under Thor's relentless hammer strikes.
