Chapter 139 – A Double Assault

"Did… did that guy just die?"

Everyone stared at the live feed, stunned as Kashimo's figure vanished from the screen.

"He was practically at special grade level, wasn't he? And even that wasn't enough to injure Sukuna…?"

"I told you before,"

a mouth opened on Tsumiki's cheek—Yurozu speaking again.

"None of you can defeat Sukuna. If you really want a chance, you'll have to let me help."

Yurozu's intentions were obvious—she wasn't trying to win.

She simply wanted the chance to die at Sukuna's hands.

She knew her strength: comparable to Kashimo's at best. She stood no chance of winning.

If she couldn't defeat Sukuna…

then dying by his blade would be the next best thing.

"Miss Yurozu, please stop making trouble," Tsumiki replied helplessly.

"My uncle and Gojo-sensei are still here. I believe in their power."

No one else acknowledged Yurozu; all attention remained glued to the screen.

"Old man and Gojo are moving," Riko said, leaning forward.

"With those two together… they can beat Sukuna, right?"

On-screen, Sukuna looked down at the two remaining opponents.

"I suppose it's your turn now. Don't disappoint me."

Kashimo was merely the appetizer.

Now Sukuna was ready for the main course.

"Someone's acting awfully full of himself," Gojo clicked his tongue.

The fact that someone was more arrogant than him seemed to irritate him deeply.

Zen'in Shinsuke rolled his neck, loosening his joints.

"Gojo, try to keep up with my speed."

With that, his blood-energy erupted like steam from a boiler.

In the next instant—

BOOM!

He vanished, reappearing beside Sukuna, fist already mid-swing.

"Who do you think you're talking to?"

Gojo blurred forward just as quickly, appearing on Sukuna's opposite side, fist wrapped in cursed energy.

Sukuna intercepted both attacks—four arms, four shields—blocking them cleanly.

Feeling the twin impacts, Sukuna's grin stretched wildly.

"You two… only you can make this fun!"

ROAR!!

With a tiger-like bellow, Shinsuke's raw force shattered two of Sukuna's arms at once.

"Please fight quietly," he added flatly.

Sukuna slipped away, regenerating instantly via reverse cursed technique—almost on autopilot.

No more words were exchanged.

Three blurred silhouettes clashed, vanished, reappeared, and clashed again.

A pure martial battle.

■ Shinsuke – monstrous physical technique

■ Gojo – limitless precision applied at maximum output

■ Sukuna – overwhelming cursed energy and a body built for slaughter

Their speed surpassed the threshold of human perception.

The live-feed showed only shockwaves and collapsing buildings.

"The three of them… this must be the strongest trio in jujutsu history,"

Nanami whispered, his cigarette butt burning a hole in his pants—but he didn't notice.

"They've stopped using techniques?" someone asked.

"No," Yuki explained calmly.

"They can't use techniques."

"At this speed, who could form hand signs? Or chant a formula?" another muttered.

A battle between the strongest had devolved into a pure fistfight.

While moving at blinding speed, Sukuna still found time to mock them:

"If not for this body I'm using, the two of you might have actually beaten me."

Even he didn't dare relax.

One mistake meant being caught in a devastating combo attack.

If he hadn't devoured a million non-sorcerers—

if he couldn't heal endlessly—

he would've already fallen.

"How long do you think you can maintain this pace?"

Sukuna taunted, clearly enjoying himself.

"Give a man an inch and he takes a mile," Shinsuke muttered.

His muscles contracted like steel cables, skin cracking into fine red lines—

temperature rising—

power surging yet again.

BOOOOM!!!

His aura detonated upward like a volcanic eruption.

In the blink of an eye he appeared beside Sukuna, fist driving forward with such force that the surrounding space froze—

condensing into the shape of a ravenous celestial tiger that lunged straight for Sukuna's torso.

Caught off guard by the sudden boost in speed, even Sukuna couldn't react in time.

Still, instinct honed over a thousand years made him twist just enough to avoid a vital hit.

ROAR—!!

Space warped.

Two of Sukuna's arms—along with half his shoulder—were bitten cleanly away, bursting into a spray of crimson mist.

At the same moment—

Gojo Satoru, seizing the opening, pressed a point-blank Reversal: Red into Sukuna's chest.

The blast tore through Sukuna's cursed energy barrier, exploding a fist-sized hole straight through his torso and blasting him into the ruins below.

Seeing the momentum shift, Shinsuke and Gojo blurred forward together—

refusing to give Sukuna even a heartbeat to recover.

But—

A shadow suddenly stepped between them.

A freezing tide of cursed energy erupted.

"Ice Curse Technique — Ice God Armor!"

A colossal, building-sized wall of enchanted ice materialized in their path, layered with frost-blue sigils pulsing like a living organism.

This was Uraume's strongest defensive spell.

"Where'd this little brat crawl out from? Move."

Shinsuke didn't slow down for even half a second.

CRACK!

His punch shattered the entire ice fortress in a single blow—

and the shockwave continued forward, slamming directly into Uraume.

Even with the glacier's cushioning, the force caved her body inward like a crushed can.

Blood sprayed.

Uraume flew across the battlefield like a ragdoll, crashing through several buildings before disappearing entirely.

But—

That single heartbeat of delay was enough.

Sukuna now stood before them again—

completely healed, as if nothing had happened.

"Tell me," Sukuna smiled coldly, "what did you do to my subordinate?"

His expression remained amused—

but his eyes had sharpened to razors.

The massive mouth across his abdomen began chanting.

Then—

A lattice of slashing lines erupted across the battlefield, a web of death stretching from ground to sky—

a net that sealed every possible escape path short of abandoning the battlefield entirely.

"Brace with cursed energy!"

Shinsuke barked.

His muscles hardened, skin crackling with compressed blood-force.

Gojo sensed the danger instantly and flooded himself with limitless cursed energy protection.

SWISH—!!

The killing net passed through them in less than a blink.

CRACK!

A crisp slicing sound echoed.

SPLAT!

Both men staggered back, blood spraying as a grid-shaped wound carved across each of their bodies.

Sukuna chuckled.

"You survived? Tough bastards."

This wasn't an ordinary slash.

It was his newly refined technique—

"Eight-Fold Slash (Hachi)"

evolved from the attack that had cleaved space itself and slain Kashimo.

Even stronger than the one that killed Kashimo—

and yet they survived it.

Sukuna's eyes gleamed with predatory excitement.

"Good.

If you died that easily…

I'd have been terribly disappointed."
