Chapter 22 - Mission Accomplished

Forest Of Acrata.....

Unknown Pov.....

The warrior Angels (wolves), seeing that they lost the witch and the reborn version of the Angel of war, immediately transformed into their real form.

The transformation took less than ten seconds as they were already transforming during the time when they were trying shamelessly to not let the witch escape.

Not long after, the ten wolves that were big and bulky transformed into Angels. Male Angels.

As expected, their real form was filled with raw power and their aura were stronger and more overwhelming.

Their power and aura was a million times stronger than when they were wolves, which shows the power gap that occurs when they assume mortal form.

They all had hardened looks on their facial features, this shows their disappointment at the fact that they could not kill ordinary mortals.

The supposed leader of the warrior Angels turned to the other nine, his facial expression contorting into anger and rage.

"What the hell happened back then?" The male Angel roared at the other nine. The other nine, though being shouted upon had complicated looks on their faces but mostly disappointment. "I'm asking you guys, what the hell happened back then? Why couldn't we kill that witch and the baby despite the fact we had the number advantage? Everything was going according to plan but it's all screwed up. Now, I'm asking you guys, what the fuck happened?!!!"

The rest nine kept quiet, their faces bowed but still with complicated expressions on their faces.

However, the forest around the ten warrior Angels seemed to hum in response to the power and aura they discharged especially the supposed leader of the warrior Angels.

"But Sir! Our power weakens anytime we assume mortal form. You can't really blame us for failing to kill the witch and the baby and also loosing five of our comrades".

One of the warrior Angels spoke back to the leader, his face bearing a determined look.

"We had the number advantage. We could have easily killed her and the baby and by now we should have been killing the other reborn version of the Angel of war".

The leader retorted with a scornful glare.

"Despite the fact we still had numbers, we still wouldn't be able to kill the witch. With all due respect sir, but didn't you see how five warrior Angels were easily killed. No matter our numbers the witch would still overpower us because we choose to assume mortal form".

Another warrior Angel spoke up to the unjust scolding of their leader just as the first one had did.

"Yeah, Sir. He's right. We would have been able to kill the witch if we had attacked her all at once in order to overwhelm her with our numbers. And we wouldn't have lost our comrades in such shameful way and the fact still remains that a mortal easily killed five warrior Angels".

The leader breathed out a sigh.

"You guys are all right. If we had attacked her all at once, we wouldn't have lost five of our comrades and we would have ended the witch and the two reborn versions of the Angel of war. But the best thing we can do right now, is to attack her again however this time, we are attacking her in our real form".

The leader spoke to the other nine warrior Angels, carrying a note of finality.

"But Sir, attacking the witch with our real form could draw suspicions from the Ancestral Angel who started this quest in the first place".

One of the warrior Angels spoke up, earning the support of the others.

"We have to do it, it's the only option we have. His majesty must not find out that we couldn't disrupt the plans of the Ancestral Angel in bringing back the Angel of war".

The other nine nodded in response to their leader's words.

"We're with you, Sir!!!"

They all chorused.

"Okay then, let's all complete this mission and be out of this human world".

The leader spoke with finality.

---

Abruptly hearing that the remaining ten warrior Angels were still determined in ending the witch and the two reborn versions of the Angel of war, I immediately panicked.

I really didn't panic because I couldn't handle them, but because of fear of getting involved in something that I don't really know much about.

But I pushed away that fear and decided that I won't let these warrior Angels disrupt the plans of my mistress in bringing back the Angel of war.

Whatever the Angel of destruction's motive may be for sending fifteen warrior Angels to disrupt my mistress's plans from coming to accomplishment, I'll find out soon.

With determination, I decided to jump into the bigger picture and make my presence known, by doing this, I have successfully stopped every interferences that doesn't want the fulfilment of my mistress's plans.

I released my powerful aura into the atmosphere, seemingly causing a shift in the atmosphere.

The ten warrior Angels were already making their way to the witch's home to try another opportunity in ending her life and that of the baby.

But just as they were about making their way there, they noticed the sudden shift in the air.

Which of course was caused by me.

I released even more aura, making the spiritual energy around to become more denser.

"Do you feel it".

One of the warrior Angels spoke up and the rest nodded in agreement.

They felt the aura I was releasing.

Although, I decided to take them out of the picture really quick and later meet up with my mistress to get the full story of what is actually happening.

Without much thought, I jumped down from the tree branch I was standing on all along, allowing my human body to drift down the tree's cluster of leaves.

I landed on the ground, just a few feet from the warrior Angels.

The warrior Angels seemed taken aback by my sudden appearance but they seemed not to recognize who I really was.

That was good.

Although, I kept a hardened look on my face.

"Who are you?!"

The leader of the warrior Angels spoke, a silver sword suddenly forming in his hand as he stretched his sword towards me.

I didn't answer, mostly to spike things up and I had a smirk on my face.

"Speak before I put an end to your pitiful existence, demon!"

The leader of the warrior Angels said once again, with a growl.

That's when I realized that he must have assumed that I was a demon. Maybe it's because of the two black horns on my head.

"I wouldn't allow you or your leader to disrupt the plans of my mistress. Take this message back to your leader; the Angel of destruction. Whatever his motives are, the Ancestral Angel would stop at nothing to bring back the Angel of war".

The leader of the warrior Angels, hearing my words was taken aback for some seconds. His mouth hung open and his sword seemed to contort between reality.

"How did you find out about all these things?" The leader spoke with a darkened glare and a deathly voice, quite opposite of his handsome face. I smirked even more, not hiding my amusement. Then he asked again. "Is the Ancestral Angel, Tamara, your mistress?"

Hearing his question, I broke into a crazy smile, my dark eyes moving about the other warrior Angels.

Meanwhile, the other warrior Angels were quiet and motionless, letting their leader to handle the talking.

But I won't be speaking for long since I'm going to end this soon. I have to go back to my mistress and report to her there's more to everything that's happening and going to happen.

"What if I say yes?...." I say, my voice twisting into a dark cruel entity. "Infact, she entrusted me the mission of bringing back the Angel of war and also, little advice for you guys, let your majesty know that the Ancestral Angel will bring back the Angel of war whether he likes it or not".

The resounding and simultaneous gasps were heard from the warrior Angels seemingly hearing what I had just revealed.

But wanting to end this charade as soon as possible, I decided to act.

"That doesn't matter because we're going to kill you, demon!".

The leader suddenly roared after taking in the information I had just revealed.

He and the remaining nine warrior Angels charged at me with the speed of sound, their speed far surpassing my expectations.

The ground seem to thump in expectations of the power and raw strength that was about to be exchanged.

Still, I didn't have time to fight these warrior Angels instead, I'll send them to where they belong.

"Asarat Letrium Sintus!"

I casted a spell.

It was a dark spell, very dark spell or even one of the darkest spell ever.

It was a spell that calls on the abyss. The abyss answers and absorbs the life force of beings in an instant. Let's say, it's a quick way to kill enemies lesser than you though, it can't work on opponents stronger than the user.

The leader of the warrior Angels must have recognized the spell, so did the other nine warrior Angels.

But it was too late as in an instant, as they were about to attack me, they dissolved into nothingness, leaving their soul fading away as the abyss absorbed their life force, which is actually their souls.

I smirked, seeing how easily dealt with the ten warrior Angels. The witch took care of five when they were in mortal from but I took care of the remaining ten when they were in their real form.

Nevertheless, using the spell actually backfired as a lot of spiritual energy was seeped out from my body.

I fell to the ground, breathing incredibly hard as I tried to regain strength.

Using abyssal magic was terrible but I'm only used to using demonic magic, infact, I specialize only on demonic magic but I use abyssal magic when it's required.

However, I still have one more thing to do before I go back to my mistress.

In seconds, I was up on my feet to my next destination.

___

Linda got home just in time.

It was already deep in the night and the night insects were all out, chirping and making noises.

She simultaneously landed on the ground, just a few feet away from her doorstep and she controlled the gathered firewoods to land on the ground as well.

"Home Sweet Home!"

Linda breathed out, a exasperated sigh escaping her mouth.

She glanced at the baby in her arms and she smiled seeing that he was fast asleep.

He looked extremely and otherworldly cute when asleep that she couldn't help but feel happy.

A lot had happened just for only this evening and she is glad that she has a baby as a reward for enduring a lot.

But just as she was about to enter the house she felt something or someone behind her.

Her breath seemingly caught in her throat as fear suddenly flooded her senses.

Could it be the beings that had attacked that had come for her again?

Are they the ones behind her?

She focused her weak senses to pick up how strong the presence behind her was.

For once, she forgot to breath properly as she felt that the presence behind her was way powerful than she was.

She just stood there still, actually waiting for the presence to make a move or say something.

Her hand was on the handle of the door that led into the house.

Taking a deep breath, she finally turned around and her eyes layed on the most handsome looking man she had ever seen in her life.

He was tall, very tall. Her had lean muscles with a broadened chest, he had dark lashes with fitting dark eyes that spoke of wickedness and cruelty.

But the most striking feature was his black lips and two horns that stood on his head.

The man was unknown, the demon king of pride. He had a cruel smile on his face.

"Hey mortal! How are you doing, today?"

Unknown asked, his voice holding dark secrets.

Linda was lost short of words but she was able to stutter a response.

"I.... I... I'm fine".

Unknown smiled even more and nodded. He moved his gaze to the baby in Linda's arms. Linda sensing his gaze on the baby in her arms, looked at the baby.

"Isn't he cute and peaceful?"

Unknown asked, his voice carrying a dark softness.

Linda nodded, still lost short of words.

"He has a great destiny. He is part of something great, something even I don't know or understand". Unknown said after which he continued. "Take good care of him, protect him if you have to and train him. I'll be around but keep in mind that his destiny is intertwined with the Angel of war".

"The Angel of war? How?"

Linda couldn't help but blurt out, kind of piqued at the mention of the Angel of war, especially being the real reason why she has her power.

"Don't worry time shall tell. Let's say, he has the gateway to bringing the Angel of war back. Take care of him, witch..... take care of him".

Just as he said this, Unknown started fading into nothingness, disappearing from her sight.

"Wait, what's your name?"

Linda blurted out, seeing him vanishing out of her sight.

"Unknown, the prideful demon King".

Unknown said as he disappeared from Linda's sight.

Linda seemed conflicted by the words of the strange man but when bed eyes rested on the baby before her, she vowed to take care of him and train him to wield magic just like her.

The man's words further fueled her believe that this baby was destined for greater good.

This mysterious baby was destined to be the gateway to bringing back the Angel of war.

Only if she knew that the baby she adopted was one of the reborn versions of the Angel of war.
