" Don't look back, just keep walking, " the boy holding a crow bar said to Tatsuya as they walked on the roof top.
Tatsuya followed quietly behind the two while cautiously choosing where he steps.
' I wanted to look down the building, but I was stopped and told to run, ' he thought as held his chest. ' that was terrifying... And the worst part is I didn't know what I was running from but I do remember hearing a whistling sound. '
They continued walking on the in silence and jumping from one roof to the other as the moon illuminated it's light upon them.
Meanwhile Ren was in his uniform, walking down the streets, cars were speeding in the road and the street lights brightening up the crowded side walk.
He let out a yawn as he glanced back without turning his head, ' they sure are relentless, ' he thought as he noticed three figures trailing him, ' they've been watching me more lately, and they are not pros if Rick noticed. '
He then grabbed his phone from his pocket and his red eyes reflected on the screen, he moved it a little and showed the face one of the people following him.
He studied the face on the screen, he noticed how they tried to match his pace while pretending to not watch him.
' they're using the crowd to blend in while following me, ' he thought his face calm. ' how predictable, don't they know the version has been updated. '
He then unlocked the phone and screen lit up.
He opened the Guide app and scrolled down, which read, " CURRENT POINTS EARNED, +635 POINTS. "
He then let out a sigh while looking at the screen, ' it's not good enough, we are moving at a slow rate and I'm still waiting to receive my quest. '
After staring at the phone for a moment, he then put it back in pocket before muttering to himself, " time to lose these NPC's. We'll play when the right time comes or if a quest demands it "
After that he took a turn down the alley and without walking much at the corner which was covered by darkness, he leaned against the wall the shadow of the building covering him.
The three figures entered the alley and sprinted past him fast as they turned their lights on, one yelling, " Quick, don't lose him again. "
Ren watched them run after nothing with his hands in pockets, ' the best hiding spot is always in plain sight. ' he thought as he walked out of the alley and continued walking down the pavement.
The next morning at Raikou academy, the sun was rising giving off it's morning rays, the students were just arriving for school and were as loud as they as ever.
" I heard the three are still unconscious as we speak. " A boy said to his friend as they walked in the hallway.
" It's pretty hard to believe, I mean people don't just collapse for reason... But I there, I saw them, three lifeless bodies on the ground. " Another said his eyes widened and hands shaking slightly.
Then the boy continued with a question, " What do you think caused it? and do you think it's like contagious? "
" I'm sure they'll find out what caused it soon.. I mean the president has stepped in, so we'll be fine. " The first boy assured his friends
" Yeah the president will figure this whole situation out. "
The topic of the three students while collapsed was the trending all over the school, some were worried others didn't care because it didn't happen to them but all were sure the president would handle the situation.
Meanwhile Rick had just slammed a door opened, " hey there, it's been a while. " he said, breathing heavily, his arm leaned on the door while the other holding a paper.
Yu's eyes popped open as he saw Rick, " what do you want? here to threaten us again. "
It was the computer club and Yu was the only member present. He stood from he side and two few steps back.
" Threaten no, I want to kill you, " Rick said as he straightened up and advanced towards Yu.
Yu's face remained netrual but the gulp sound from Yu swallowing saliva betrayed his expression.
Rick then lifted up the paper before smacking it down the table, " How the hell is Tatsuya ranked higher than me, " he asked his tone in disbelief.
" Huh? What are you talking about? " Yu asked asked raising an eyebrow.
" I'm talking about the dawn student ranking, " Rick replied his voice mock serious.
He then started yapping, " I was having a good day but I stumble upon the list in my apartment, then my curiousity got the best of me and I decided to take a look. Only to find out I'm ranked number five in looks. "
He then let out a deep breath before continuing, " and how the hell does my overall score put me at number thirty out of the hundred first years and worst of all how is Tatsuya ranked higher than me. "
Rick's sky blue eyes were staring daggering into Yu as he thought, ' what stood out to me the most was there are students ranked higher than the boss man, I just can't see it being possible so I need more information. '
" I don't know what to tell you, " Yu replied while avoiding Rick's eyes. " The computer does all the calculation we just feed it the data and print out the list, " his tone was hesitant.
Rick then put his hand on his face as his eyes looked down, the hand was covering the smirk even he didn't register.
Later in the day, the lessons had just began and Ren was resting his cheek on the palm of his hand as he stared outside the window.
All while the teacher in front carried on with the lesson, Ren was stuck in his thoughts, ' so many things happened I wonder what my quest will be like I hope it's not like some kind mystery visual novel and everything I've seen so far is all connected. '
While stuck in his thoughts the sound of the door opening grabbed his attention, a teacher wearing a white shirt and black trousers walked in.
" Ren Katagiri, my office now. " The teacher commandEd and without waiting for Ren to respond the teacher walked out the room.
Mummers erupted among the students.
" Mr nonchalant is in trouble, talk about silent but deadly. " A voice stood out.
Most students held back there laugher while others chuckles to themselves as Ren walked out the room.
Outside the door he found Rick standing next to the teacher, his expression as cheerful as ever.
Without saying anything the teacher began walking and the two exchanged glances before they followed from behind in silence.
After walking for a few seconds in silence the teacher grabbed his keys and opened the door.
The teacher then sat down and pointed on the pointed his finger on the floor while his eyes locked with Ren's, " Sit. " He commanded.
Upon hearing the order a grin appeared on Rick's face and he immediately covered it with his hand while giving an attentive look.
Ren maintained eye contact with teacher his face still neutral and not giving a response.
" Did you not hear what I said? " the teacher tilting his head slightly before he asked. " or do you prefer if you knelt down instead. "
Rick side glanced Ren's face, studying it as if waiting for his move. And again Ren gave no response and remained standing.
The teacher's eyebrow twitched at Ren not complying, " Boy how disrespectful are you? I'm talking you to. "
" Oh, so you were talking to me, " Ren replied his voice sounding a bit surprised. " I assumed you were mumbling to yourself. "
" How dare you take that tone with me boy, I can have you expelled! " The teacher was fuming his face was red.
With a slight tilt of his head and his eyes narrowing a bit Ren thought, ' there it is, the arrogant and self righteousness side most adults have. always abusing their authority and always being unreasonable. '
' Adults are really petty when you see them for what they are, most of them are just losers with power and this teacher has just become an NPC. '
Ren then looked at Rick, his eyes then moved towards the teacher like it was some sort of gesture, Rick then nodded and stepped forward.
" Teacher I think what my friend here was trying to say, was that we don't know what's going on, if you at least explain things to us, we'll know the reason you are so upset at us, " Rick said the tone of his voice low and calculated.
The scowl on the teachers face slowly started to disappeared.
The sound phone buzzing had Ren's attention while Rick had just started calming down the teacher.
Ren grabbed the phone out his pocket and he saw a notification from the Guide app on top.
' i wonder what quest I'll get, ' he thought as he clicked on it.
And while reading it his eyes widened. " YOU ARE TEMPORARY SUSPENDED FROM QUESTS. " The text blinked in red while his eyes widened slightly.
