Chapter 68 - CHAPTER 68

The Awakening of the Mangekyō

No one wanted to believe it.

Uchiha Fugaku took a deep breath, disbelief flickering across his face.

"Shisui… what did you just say?"

"You mean Uchiha Jin awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan—and used Susanoo to kill the Seven Ninja Swordsmen?"

He stared hard at Shisui, his tone wavering between shock and suspicion. "Are you sure this isn't some kind of joke?"

Even Fugaku, known for his composure, couldn't suppress the tremor in his voice.

As much as he trusted Shisui, the matter was too extraordinary.

After all, the Mangekyō Sharingan was the ultimate secret of the Uchiha clan—something that hadn't appeared for decades.

The other Uchiha gathered around wore equally conflicted expressions—

shock, excitement, disbelief, and even awe.

Since the days of Uchiha Madara's departure from Konoha and Uchiha Kagami's tragic death, the clan had not seen the birth of another Mangekyō.

Now, hearing that one had awakened once more—it was almost too much to believe.

"Of course I'm sure," Shisui said firmly. "The Mangekyō means everything to our clan—how could I possibly lie about such a thing?"

He continued, his eyes resolute. "Besides, if Jin hadn't awakened it, how else could four of us have possibly killed the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of Kirigakure?"

"Susanoo's power was overwhelming. The aftermath left almost nothing behind—but the seven swords of Kirigakure are proof enough."

At that, Nara Kazama stepped forward.

"I can testify to that as well," he said calmly.

Hinata Aya nodded beside him. "Me too. That enormous skeletal warrior… even now, the image of it still sends shivers down my spine."

Unlike the Nara, the Hyuga clan had records describing the Uchiha's legendary techniques.

The mere mention of Susanoo was enough to make even their hearts tremble.

Without hesitation, Shisui handed over the sealed scroll containing the seven swords to Fugaku.

The Uchiha patriarch broke the seal, unrolled the parchment, and saw the unmistakable weapons—each one infamous in its own right.

After a moment, he re-sealed the scroll and returned it to Shisui.

"Shisui, you didn't lie," Fugaku said solemnly. "These are indeed the Seven Ninja Swords of Kirigakure. Their deaths are unquestionable."

A collective gasp rippled through the Uchiha.

Even without having seen Jin's eyes themselves, the conclusion was undeniable.

"Another Mangekyō… after all these years…"

"Our clan truly is unmatched!"

"Uchiha! Glory to our name!"

Voices rose in excitement, echoing through the camp.

For a moment, the Uchiha brimmed with pride and fire.

The long-dormant flame of their clan's supremacy blazed once again.

Yet nearby, several Konoha Jōnin frowned, their gazes dark with unease.

Though the Nine-Tails Rebellion had not yet occurred, the Uchiha's reputation in the village was already precarious.

Ever since Uchiha Madara's departure and Tobirama Senju's rise to Hokage, the Uchiha had been viewed with suspicion.

Under the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, and his inner circle—particularly Danzō Shimura—that suspicion turned into systematic suppression.

Danzō's hatred for the Uchiha bordered on obsession.

Fortunately, the Uchiha's strength was undeniable.

Despite Konoha's attempts to weaken them through endless wars, the clan's power endured.

Their eyes—those cursed, blessed Sharingan—refused to be subdued.

And now, with the reappearance of the Mangekyō Sharingan…

The atmosphere in the camp grew heavy.

Every Konoha Jōnin present understood what this meant:

If the Uchiha rose again, the fragile balance within the village could shatter.

And in the midst of war—an internal conflict could destroy Konoha entirely.

The Jōnin exchanged grim looks and sighed quietly.

None of them were foolish enough to voice their fears, but they all shared the same thought:

Konoha is about to become… very interesting.

---

When all had been confirmed, the group returned to camp.

Uchiha Jin—still unconscious—was carried into the central tent of the Uchiha command post.

Every tent around it was occupied by Uchiha elites.

Three squads guarded the perimeter day and night, their vigilance unbroken.

The message was clear:

Uchiha Jin, the new bearer of the Mangekyō, was now the clan's most precious treasure.

Until he awakened, nothing was allowed to happen to him.

If necessary, the entire Uchiha force would die protecting him.

That was the power—and the pride—of the Uchiha clan.
