Chapter 59 - CHAPTER 59

The Formation of Team Shisui

"You left that Kumogakure ninja's body behind — partly to divert suspicion from yourself, but also to create a powerful external enemy for the Uchiha," Kazama said, his tone calm but sharp.

"Kumogakure is strong. Convenient, isn't it?"

He leaned forward slightly.

"To put it bluntly, Jin-kun — you just wanted revenge."

Uchiha Jin blinked, caught off guard.

Revenge?

Was that really what it looked like from the outside?

He frowned. "Are you sure your uncle will believe that?"

Kazama nodded with certainty.

"I'm sure. As long as he confirms your hostility isn't directed at Konoha, he won't care about Uchiha internal affairs. To him, that's clan business — not village security."

Still, Jin sighed helplessly.

"I can't help but feel that the version of 'Uchiha Jin' you just described sounds... pretty stupid."

Kazama chuckled.

"That's normal. For an Uchiha, just being able to hide their strength is already rare enough. Subtlety isn't exactly your clan's strength."

Jin couldn't help but laugh.

"Fair point," he admitted.

After that, he stopped overthinking. If the plan worked, that was all that mattered.

What counted now was time — time to grow stronger. He had confidence that, given enough of it, no one would be able to corner him again.

The Next Morning

The sun had barely risen when Uchiha Shisui appeared at their tent, leading someone new.

It was a girl — slender, with long, silvery-white hair that framed a calm but distant expression. Her pale lavender eyes gave her away immediately.

A Hyūga.

And not just any — the faint seal on her forehead made her identity clear.

A branch member… a Caged Bird.

"Good morning, everyone," Shisui said warmly. "Let's introduce ourselves before we get to work."

He spoke with an easy confidence, his tone composed and friendly.

"My name is Uchiha Shisui. I specialize in shunshin, kenjutsu, and genjutsu. My Fire Release is decent, and I possess the Three-Tomoe Sharingan. I'll be your squad captain from today onward."

He turned expectantly toward the others.

Uchiha Jin spoke first.

"Uchiha Jin. I'm proficient in the basic academy techniques, Fire Release, and close-quarters combat."

Kazama followed smoothly.

"Nara Kazama. Skilled in Wind Release and the Nara clan's shadow techniques."

Finally, the Hyūga girl gave a small bow.

"Hyūga Aya. I use the Byakugan for detection and specialize in medical ninjutsu."

A brief silence followed. Everyone glanced at one another, the oddness of their team immediately apparent.

Two Uchiha, one Nara, and one Hyūga — a combination unheard of even in Konoha's long history.

Normally, the Nara were deployed alongside the Akimichi and Yamanaka clans as part of the Ino–Shika–Chō trio.

And the Hyūga, with their elite dōjutsu, were rarely placed outside their own specialized units.

This… was a strange mix indeed.

Even so, Shisui merely smiled, unbothered.

"Alright," he said. "Now that introductions are done, let's get to work."

He unfolded a mission scroll.

"Since we're still building teamwork, our first assignments will be basic C-rank missions — simple, but they'll help us coordinate. Don't underestimate them. We're on the frontlines, so even minor tasks can turn dangerous fast."

He paused briefly, his tone turning serious.

"Our orders are clear: destroy twelve enemy outposts along the western border of the Land of Whirlpools. We only have three days. Time is short, and the task is heavy — let's move."

"Understood," everyone replied in unison.

Moments later, the team departed the camp, moving swiftly through the dense forest.

The First Outpost

By noon, they had reached their first target.

Aya activated her Byakugan, her veins bulging faintly around her eyes as her vision expanded in all directions.

"Nine Genin, three Chūnin, and one Jōnin," she reported evenly.

Shisui nodded, analyzing the formation.

"I'll take the Jōnin," he said. "Kazama, Jin — handle the rest. Aya, stay behind and provide medical and sensory support. Protect her at all costs."

Everyone nodded in acknowledgment. Aya's role as both medic and scout made her the most vital support unit on the field.

Without hesitation, Shisui drew his short sword, chakra humming faintly along the blade. Then, in a blur, he vanished.

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!" Jin called out.

"Wind Release: Suppressing Gust!" Kazama followed, amplifying Jin's flames with a controlled burst of wind.

The resulting explosion engulfed the outpost in a fiery inferno.

Before the stunned Kirigakure ninja could react, Shisui flashed behind the enemy Jōnin, his Sharingan spinning. A single misstep — and Shisui's blade severed his throat.

Simultaneously, Jin appeared behind a Chūnin and slit his neck cleanly with a kunai.

Kazama's shadow technique lashed out like a whip, constricting another Chūnin and snapping his neck.

"Shadow Neck Binding Technique!" he murmured coldly.

In the chaos, a stray Genin tried to flank them — but a sudden burst of chakra sent him flying.

Hyūga Aya lowered her hand, her Byakugan fading. The Genin was down.

Within moments, it was over.

One Jōnin, two Chūnin, and one Genin — eliminated in less than a minute.

Jin exhaled quietly as the smoke cleared.

So this was the true efficiency of an elite Konoha unit.

And this was only the beginning.
