Chapter 297 - Chapter 297: Damn, He Showed Off Again

The next morning, Yang Yunhai woke up early and made breakfast himself.

Da, da, da.

Before it was ready, footsteps came from upstairs, and soon another set echoed from the corridor.

"Brother Zhuang, you can cook?" Xu Minghui peeked in with surprise. As an imperial prince, he had never needed to cook. After all, his mother and younger sister were both Food-Type Soul Masters—naturals in the kitchen.

"A little." Yang Yunhai nodded lightly. "Go sit and wait. I'll make yours too."

"Heh, then I'll have to properly taste my brother's cooking." Xu Minghui grinned, hurrying to the table to sit down.

Xue Hongchen curled her lips, pulling her younger sister over to sit opposite.

Soon, Yang Yunhai emerged from the kitchen, carrying plates.

"Brother Zhuang, let me help you." Xu Minghui jumped up quickly, taking two portions back to the table.

The food was served, and they began to eat.

After taking one delicate bite, Xu Mingjing's eyes lit up. She lowered her head shyly and said softly, "It's delicious."

"Brother Zhuang, I didn't expect your cooking to be this good." Xu Minghui turned his head, genuinely impressed.

"Not bad," Xue Hongchen muttered with a proud look.

Yang Yunhai ignored her and sighed. "I live with two freeloading old men who only know how to eat. I had no choice."

Xu Mingjing believed it instantly, her cute little face showing a heartbroken expression.

'Orphan? If he had parents, how would a child end up cooking for the family?' Xu Minghui immediately thought of that possibility, then laughed easily. "Brother Zhuang, you don't have to worry about that here in Mingdu."

"Our academy's meals are good, and there are plenty of delicious things outside too. I'll take you out sometime, eat and drink to your heart's content."

'Full-package service, huh?' Yang Yunhai put on a look of sudden excitement. "That's great, Brother Hui. I'll handle your breakfasts from now on."

"Good deal, good deal." Xu Minghui laughed brightly.

'Scheming, but not too much.'

'An arrogant tsundere for the sister, and a soft, sweet little sister…' Yang Yunhai summed them up in his mind.

"…" Xue Hongchen glanced at the two of them, only feeling like they were two peas in a pod. She chose silence.

Chatter filled the room as the four quickly finished breakfast, then headed to the teaching building together.

Along the way, Xu Minghui cheerfully explained everything Yang Yunhai asked, thorough and detailed.

Yang Yunhai appreciated his forthrightness—it made gathering information easy.

In Class One, he sat with Xu Minghui and the siblings. When Teacher Yi Lin arrived, introductions were made, then class began.

The first subject was Soul Master theory, mostly similar to Douluo Continent. But some of the new perspectives made Yang Yunhai's eyes brighten.

'Different lands, different growth. History takes another path, and even theory develops differently.'

'Take this back home, summarize it, and it'll shake the continent. Fame, reputation, faith energy—profit from the knowledge gap.'

Yang Yunhai listened intently.

Yi Lin looked on in satisfaction, believing him to be a studious child.

The dean hadn't sent Yang Yunhai to her class to teach him soul tool knowledge—that wasn't her specialty. What he wanted was for her to keep an eye on him, ensuring he didn't neglect his cultivation while learning soul tools.

And she was known for her solid grasp of Soul Master theory and sharp insights.

Time passed, and the first class ended. Yang Yunhai then went to a soul tool class.

It had to be said—the Sun Moon Imperial Academy truly had a system.

They focused on practice. The classroom was the laboratory. Students were expected to read theory at home. In class, the teacher demonstrated once, then the students worked directly, asking questions on the spot.

'Good thing Old Ming left me that book. At least I had some basics. Otherwise, I'd be a laughingstock.'

"This one's a prodigy…" The soul tool instructor, who had been briefed by the dean, had expected Yang Yunhai to be a clueless beginner. Instead, the boy handled everything with ease on the very first lesson.

'No wonder his elders sent him here. He truly has talent.'

'Brother Zhuang, stop showing off! You're making me look useless.' Xu Minghui, who had originally wanted to show off in front of him, now felt numb.

'Next time I go home, I'll definitely be scolded as the negative example—"why can't you be more like other people's children?" As the eldest grandson, I'm carrying a burden I shouldn't have to at this age.'

'So strong…' Xu Mingjing's big eyes sparkled.

'He must've studied for a long time before coming here.' Xue Hongchen pouted, consoling herself.

An hour later, class ended. Xu Minghui sat in silence, looking like a man relieved of great pressure. The four walked back to their villa, where Xu Mingjing cooked.

As a Food-Type Soul Master, the kitchen was her best training ground, so she usually cooked their meals.

If not for Yang Yunhai waking early, she would have prepared breakfast too.

'She's the perfect wife archetype.' Yang Yunhai couldn't help but admire. 'Whoever marries her will never go without buns. She can cook, her Martial Soul boosts and heals, she herself can be eaten as food, her flavors change, and she's easy on the eyes too. Perfect.'

'No wonder her mother became the crown princess. If I were the crown prince, I'd pursue her too.'

"Great cooking." As the dishes came to the table, Yang Yunhai had no words beyond praise.

Xu Mingjing's face turned red as she whispered softly, "As long as you like it."

Xu Minghui felt an arrow pierce his chest. He didn't object to this possible romance, but his heart ached.

Xue Hongchen's face darkened. She thought someone as shameless as Zhuang Zhou wasn't worthy of her innocent cousin, but she had no grounds to protest.

In terms of background and strength, the elders would definitely support it.

"Hmph." All her turmoil ended in one cold snort, a warning for him not to get any ideas.

"???" Yang Yunhai blinked.

'First time a girl cooked for me, I complimented her, and that's a problem? Are teenagers nowadays really this complicated?'

"Ahem." Xu Minghui spoke up. "Brother Zhuang, there's no class this afternoon. Do you need me to take you to the simulation training grounds or the physical training field?"

Ever since the theory of surpassing ring limits became known, the academy emphasized physical training heavily.

"No need." Yang Yunhai shook his head. "I'm heading to the library to make up for my lack of soul tool knowledge. I only tinkered before, without systematic study. My foundation is weak."

"I need to strengthen it now."

Xu Minghui froze. Another arrow straight to the chest.

'Tinkering casually, yet already so smooth… Is this talent? What 99% hard work and 1% talent equals genius? Bullshit. In the face of talent, hard work is worthless.'

'Damn it, he's showing off again.'

"Very well." He just nodded and ate in silence.

The sisters also nodded lightly, silent as they ate.

'Nice.' Yang Yunhai thought, content.

That afternoon, he spent more time in the library. That evening, he copied notes, cultivated soul power, and later sang Japanese songs while showering in the soundproof bathroom. Finally, he returned to bed and fell asleep in Yiner's arms.

The next day, he followed the same schedule.

Thus began Yang Yunhai's fulfilling, satisfying days as a Sun Moon Imperial Academy exchange student.
