Chapter 114 - Chapter 114: To Repay With Her Hand

Seductive and Enchanting——if Yang Yunhai had to choose a word for Dugu Yan at this moment, it could only be this one.

Her long hair floated behind her, her figure curving with a slender waist, fuller than before. Her beauty had risen to a new level, facial features delicate like carved jade, eyes bright and glowing with a strange charm. That waist, those emerald-green eyes—they carried an allure all their own.

Elsewhere, a girl like this would be called a temptress.

"Not bad, not bad, my Yan Yan has become even more beautiful." Dugu Bo chuckled, shooting a glance at Yang Yunhai.

"Grandfather, you…" Dugu Yan was startled at Dugu Bo's change.

Dugu Bo nodded slightly. "My Martial Soul has evolved. Naturally, the body changes along with it. Didn't the same thing happen with Xiao Hai before?"

"Yan Yan, looking at your transformation, I'd say your Martial Soul must have evolved as well?"

"Mm…" Dugu Yan's heart was stirred, her cheeks tinged pink. She thought of the way her grandfather had just glanced at Yang Yunhai, and assumed it was a reminder to express her gratitude. Twisting her slim waist, she walked up to Yang Yunhai, bowed deeply, and said solemnly, "Xiao Hai, thank you. I will never forget the many favors you have given me in this life."

'Why not just marry him and repay with your hand?' Dugu Bo thought to himself with a smile.

Perhaps her clothes had become a bit tight, for when she bowed, the forceful motion was all too apparent. Standing so close, Yang Yunhai couldn't ignore it. He quickly rose, lifting a hand in polite refusal, and said with a smile, "Sister Yan, you're too polite! If anything, I ought to thank Grandfather Dugu."

"If not for him, neither Zhuqing nor I would have had the chance to obtain such treasures. By fate, it seems we've all helped each other."

'Clearly this is fate. Only a push from me remains.' Dugu Bo nodded slightly. "Indeed, this is destiny."

Yang Yunhai shifted slightly, gesturing toward the empty seat beside Dugu Bo. "Enough of that. Sister Yan, please sit. I'd like to hear about how your Martial Soul has changed."

"Alright." Dugu Yan nodded, sitting down. Under their expectant gazes, she summoned her Martial Soul.

Its body was still emerald, the color unchanged, but its form was very different.

Slender-bodied, its scales gleamed like jade. A sharp horn grew from its head, four limbs sprouted with claws that looked thin yet full of power. A spiny fin stretched along its back like a serrated ridge. The head had taken on a draconic shape, mouth opening slightly to reveal rows of razor fangs. Two especially long ones gleamed like blades, so sharp they made the heart tremble.

Though the body was lithe, its scales alone told of formidable defense.

"Excellent, excellent!" Dugu Bo grinned so wide his face nearly split.

"Indeed. Its strength and defenses are much improved, compensating for the Blue Phosphorus Serpent's weaknesses." Yang Yunhai smiled, looking at her. "Sister Yan, I'd wager your physical strength has grown as well? And what about the potency of your poison?"

Her spirit power was surely at rank 40 already—there was no need to even ask.

"Yes." Dugu Yan nodded. "My body feels far stronger, filled with power. As for the poison… it seems to have mutated again. The venom is definitely more potent."

'No surprise. Anything linked to dragons, especially a Nine-Grade Dragon Ganoderma, enhances the body the most.' Yang Yunhai thought.

"I nearly forgot," Dugu Bo interjected. "My poison seems to have mutated too. I'll test its strength later."

Yang Yunhai nodded. "Grandfather Dugu, Sister Yan, with your Martial Souls evolving, you'll both need time to explore your abilities and truly make them your own."

"Of course." Dugu Bo agreed. "To avoid exposing ourselves too soon, I'll leave quietly tonight." He turned to Dugu Yan. "Yan Yan, your changes aren't as drastic. Stay here and train with Xiao Hai for now."

"Don't worry, Grandfather. I'll work hard to master it quickly." Dugu Yan nodded, withdrawing her Martial Soul.

Dugu Bo's gaze shifted to Zhu Zhuqing's room. He glanced at Yang Yunhai and asked, "Zhuqing's absorption took longer than ours. Do you think her Martial Soul might have evolved too?"

"Unlikely." Yang Yunhai shook his head. "The treasure she absorbed was meant to strengthen her foundation, not transform her Martial Soul. It may enhance it somewhat, but not like yours. The long absorption time is due to the herb's gentle nature. It works slowly but lasts longer, continuously aiding her cultivation."

'I see. Ours were domineering, swift but harsh. Hers is mild, slow but enduring.' Dugu Bo understood, sighing. "Each immortal treasure has its own mystery."

"Exactly." Yang Yunhai nodded with a smile.

Time slipped by as they chatted, until footsteps finally sounded. Zhu Zhuqing emerged from her room.

Yang Yunhai turned—and his eyes lit up. She was more beautiful, her aura tinged with ethereal grace. To outsiders, the change might be subtle. But to him, who knew her best, it was clear.

'Her figure seems fuller too. These immortal herbs truly are miraculous.'

'Her changes are modest… I suppose the grade of the Cloud-Immortal Peony really is closer to the Nine Treasure Purple Zoysia, not as high as the Nine-Grade Dragon Ganoderma.' Dugu Bo sighed inwardly, feeling more indebted to Yang Yunhai.

"Zhuqing, your soul power must have reached rank 30?" Yang Yunhai asked knowingly.

"Yes." Zhu Zhuqing's eyes softened as she nodded.

"Any change in your Martial Soul?" Dugu Bo asked bluntly.

"It doesn't seem so." She shook her head and summoned it.

Its form looked unchanged, though a noble aura faintly lingered about it. Yang Yunhai, knowing her well, could sense the subtle difference.

Dugu Yan also noticed something had shifted, though she couldn't name what.

Dugu Bo, however, saw nothing and only felt more guilty—these two children had gained less than he and his granddaughter.

Sighing, he stood. "Since you've all finished absorbing, go on with your training. I'll continue studying my Martial Soul and refining the medicine."

The three of them nodded, watching him return to his room.

That evening, after dinner, Dugu Bo departed under the cover of night.

Days later, Yang Yunhai slipped into the dark, leaving the academy under Yin'er's guidance. With her perception, he avoided the patrols and flew swiftly to Heaven Dou City. Entering Spirit Hall with Chrysanthemum Douluo's Token, he was ushered before Salas, who accepted the sealed letter with a nod.

After a brief exchange, Yang Yunhai bowed and departed.
