At this moment, a gentleman who had been sent ahead rode back to report that the tracks 600 feet in front of the train had been moved about 50 feet.
The engineering rescue team on the train could reset them, but it would take 3 to 4 hours.
After a conversation between Henry and a few train guards, two guards rode to Marshall Town train station, 6 miles ahead.
There was a police station and a telegraph office there, where they could report the incident to the police and send telegrams to other train stations to announce the event, preventing any train rear-end collisions.
The other six guards returned to the ordinary carriages to report the situation and calm the passengers.
Tom and Conrad quickly ran to the baggage car, took out their cameras, and frantically took pictures of the corpses scattered everywhere.
There were also two reporters from Chicago in another Pullman car, and they did the same.
Henry walked back to Linda and Peter.
By this time, everyone had seen the ground covered with bandit corpses and knew what a dangerous and fierce gunfight had taken place ahead.
Yet, miraculously, no one had died; only a dozen unfortunate people had been struck on the head or shoulder by bandits with gun butts.
The unluckiest one only had a thumb-sized hole blown open in his right palm.
Therefore, everyone was deeply grateful to Henry for saving them all, and at the same time, they found his power incredible and admired him wholeheartedly.
Fortunately, there were two doctors from Chicago in one of the Pullman cars, and they provided simple care for the injured.
Henry walked over to lawyer Carlson and said, "Lawyer Carlson, I would like to ask you to handle the police here. I don't want this incident to delay my trip, if that's possible?"
Carlson said decisively, "Of course, I would be happy to assist you with this free of charge."
Henry said sincerely, "Thank you very much, I'll leave it to you then."
"My pleasure, Sheriff Henry," Carlson said with a smile.
Henry strolled towards Edith, who was now with Consuelo and the others.
At this moment, Henry was carrying a rifle on his back, with two revolvers tucked into his waistband, and a row of Flying Dagger. His tall and upright body, illuminated by the rising sun, was tinged with a golden glow, making his incomparably handsome face appear as if Ares, God of War, had descended.
Edith, Chris, Amanda, Cathy, and Consuelo, the five noble ladies, were somewhat dazzled and captivated by Henry's radiant presence, their hearts fluttering.
"Edith, are you all alright?" Henry stopped two meters away from them and asked with concern.
Edith smiled sweetly and said softly, "I'm fine, Henry, that was brilliant! You've amazed me once again. Let me introduce you."
Then Edith turned to the ladies beside her and introduced, "This is Henry Bruce, the Marshal of Denver, Freesca Town."
Then Edith faced Henry and said, "This is Miss Consuelo of the Vanderbilt Family."
Consuelo extended her slender right hand, adorned with a white silk glove, to Henry. Henry extended his right hand and gently shook hers, saying, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Vanderbilt."
Consuelo bowed slightly and said, "The pleasure is mine, Sheriff Henry. I am very grateful that you rescued me and my companions. No words can express my sincere gratitude."
Henry released her hand and said with a smile, "You're welcome. Fortunately, no harm came to you."
Then came Cathy, Amanda, and Chris.
Chris was particularly emotional, unable to speak for a moment.
Because Henry not only saved her but also recovered the sapphire necklace, which was of great importance to her family.
Mark and the two gentlemen, Robert and Edward, who had returned from the front of the train, all greeted Henry, followed by the other six gentlemen.
At this moment, Tom ran up to Henry and said excitedly, "Sheriff Henry, a total of 68 bandits! You took down so many in just a few minutes, with only 3 bandits still alive. It's incredible!"
Henry shrugged and said, "There were too many bandits; I couldn't hold back. You know how brutal they are; an entire car of thirty to forty guards was mowed down by their machine guns."
Tom suppressed his excitement slightly and said, "Indeed, I noticed they seem to be bandits from the James Gang and the Younger Gang. The four Younger brothers all seem to have died here."
Henry said, "Two bandits escaped by threatening the safety of the gentlemen and ladies. According to them, they are from the James Gang."
Tom asked, "Sheriff Henry, may I take two photos of you to publish in the New York Sun?"
Henry said seriously, "Yes, but the article about me must not distort the facts, or I will be very displeased."
Conrad, who was standing by, immediately stated, "Absolutely not, Sheriff Henry, please rest assured. Moreover, we plan to do a series of reports on you."
So Henry walked a few steps away and smiled for two photos.
One photo included Henry, several fallen bandits, and the train, while the other was Henry alone, smiling towards the sun.
Conrad asked, "Sheriff Henry, do you have anything to say about this attack and other Western criminals?"
"This was clearly a premeditated and targeted attack. Criminals had better not appear near where I am. My duty is to eliminate this evil, and I am very good at it. I want to say here that law and order will surely be established in the Western frontier," Henry spoke eloquently.
Others applauded enthusiastically.
At this moment, a somewhat portly middle-aged white man asked, "Sheriff Henry, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Davis, editor-in-chief of the Chicago Tribune, from that Pullman car. May I take two photos of you and interview you once? It will only take half an hour."
"Photos are fine, but the report about me must not distort the facts. As for an interview, let's talk after this matter is handled," Henry emphasized again.
"Of course not. All right, Sheriff Henry, please hold that pose, Andy, come over and take two photos of Sheriff Henry," Davis loudly instructed a young reporter who was taking photos of the corpses and the train.
Andy immediately ran over and took two photos of Henry as instructed by Davis.
After the photos were taken, Henry said to Davis, "You can first talk to my deputy Peter, who is holding a little girl over there. And Mr. Richard is also one of my combat partners; you can interview him first as well."
"Okay, thank you, excuse me, Sheriff Henry, see you later," Davis walked towards Peter with Andy.
Storyteller Peter ushered in another highlight moment, but this time with a much larger audience. Many passengers from several Pullman cars, including Consuelo and the noble ladies, gathered around him.
Conrad whispered a few words to Tom, and Tom ran back to the carriage, sat down, and began writing his article.
