Chapter 140 - Chapter 140

Chapter 140: Akatsuki's Destruction

Uchiha Yu's figure appeared silently in the ANBU dungeon. Before the guard ninja could react, he'd already vanished with the frozen Kakuzu.

In a remote mountain forest, Yu pressed his palm lightly against Kakuzu's forehead. Invisible force penetrated the other's consciousness, swiftly obtaining all intelligence regarding the Akatsuki organization. After confirming the information, he casually pointed and reduced Kakuzu to powder.

Using the acquired information, Yu quickly pinpointed the underground base where the Akatsuki organization hid.

Just as he prepared to enter, he sensed a familiar presence—Kaguya had also come here.

Yu concealed all his presence, deciding to observe from the shadows first.

He wanted to know why this Chakra Ancestor had developed interest in this human organization.

Meanwhile, under Yoya's guidance, Kaguya advanced along an extremely concealed passage.

This secret route should have been known only to Nagato and Konan, but as the Akatsuki organization's original behind-the-scenes mastermind, Yoya knew every corner intimately.

"Just ahead." Yoya said softly.

Yu followed behind them soundlessly. With his strength, even Kaguya failed to detect him.

When Kaguya saw Nagato, she immediately noticed the Rinnegan's abnormality—these weren't eyes the Otsutsuki clan possessed from birth, but had been transformed from ordinary human eyes.

This discovery raised her evaluation of humanity somewhat. Besides the special case of Uchiha Yu, humanity did occasionally produce such remarkable existences.

She developed intense interest in these artificially formed Rinnegan, curious about their differences from the Otsutsuki clan's natural Rinnegan.

Kaguya and Yoya appeared abruptly in the chamber where Nagato resided.

Nagato, with disabled legs and skeletal frame, relied on specially made machinery, black rods maintaining his life piercing his body.

He stared at the uninvited guests in shock as Konan beside him immediately assumed combat stance, countless paper sheets swirling around her.

"Who are you?" Nagato's voice was hoarse and weak, though his Rinnegan filled with wariness.

Kaguya didn't answer, simply observing those Rinnegan calmly.

"Universal Pull!"

Nagato struck first. Powerful gravitational force instantly enveloped the entire chamber. Yet Kaguya stood motionless, as though that force capable of tearing apart mountains had no effect on her.

Seeing this, Konan immediately manipulated countless paper sheets into blades, assaulting Kaguya like a rainstorm. But these sharp paper edges all turned to powder several feet from Kaguya.

"This is impossible..." Nagato whispered in disbelief.

He formed seals again. "Almighty Push!"

Even more powerful repulsive force erupted with him at the center. The entire underground base shook violently. Rubble rained from the ceiling, yet Kaguya still stood in place, not even her hem stirring.

"Only this much?" Kaguya finally spoke, disappointment in her tone.

Nagato gritted his teeth, a trace of resolve flashing through his Rinnegan. He understood this woman's strength far exceeded imagination—he must use full power.

"Chibaku Tensei!"

He pressed his palms together, pouring all his chakra into this ultimate strike. A black sphere slowly rose, beginning to frantically absorb everything around it. Rock, soil, building debris were all drawn in, gradually forming a massive stone sphere.

This was the ultimate sealing technique capable of imprisoning even tailed beasts.

Kaguya looked up at the growing sphere, wistful emotion showing in her pure white eyes.

"This is what Hagoromo and the others used back then..."

She raised her hand lightly, fingertips emanating faint luminescence. The next second, the rapidly expanding stone sphere suddenly stilled, then began reversing its disintegration.

Countless absorbed rocks fell away as the core black sphere gradually dissipated under Kaguya's gaze.

Nagato collapsed against his machinery, gasping heavily. His strongest technique had been so easily dissolved.

Konan hurriedly positioned herself protectively before him, paper sheets swiftly wrapping Nagato. Hundreds of millions of explosive tags unfurled behind her, forming massive paper wings. This was her final measure to perish together with enemies.

"Don't... Konan..." Nagato weakly tried to stop her. "Run..."

But Konan stubbornly shook her head, the explosive tags on her paper wings beginning to emit dangerous light.

Just then, Yu, who'd been hidden in darkness, finally revealed himself.

"That's enough."

His voice was soft yet shocked everyone present.

Kaguya turned toward Yu, surprise flickering through her pure white eyes. She'd completely failed to detect his approach.

Yu's gaze swept over Nagato's Rinnegan before looking at Kaguya. "Is this why you came?"

Kaguya didn't answer, though the battle intent in her eyes gradually receded. She understood clearly that before this man, any combat was meaningless.

Nagato and Konan stared at the suddenly appearing Yu in shock. Seeing this powerful, mysterious woman's wariness toward this man, their hearts sank—two incomprehensible powerhouses had appeared here consecutively today.

Yu surveyed the base now reduced to ruins, his gaze finally settling on Nagato. "You're the Akatsuki organization's leader?"

Nagato forced himself to raise his head, wariness filling his Rinnegan. "Who are you people?"

Yu didn't answer but turned to Kaguya. "Seems you're quite interested in those eyes."

Kaguya nodded lightly. "Artificially formed Rinnegan... certainly worth studying."

Yoya quietly tugged at her mother's sleeve, signaling her not to say more. As the former behind-the-scenes manipulator, she understood clearly what Yu's appearance meant.

Konan watched these two mysterious powerhouses warily, explosive tags on her paper wings still trembling slightly. Though she knew it might prove meaningless, she'd prepared to launch a final attack at any moment.

Yu's gaze returned to Nagato. "What's your purpose in collecting tailed beasts?"

Nagato remained silent momentarily before finally speaking. "To create true peace... by making the world experience pain, to eliminate war."

Yu shook his head slightly. This world never lacked self-righteous idealists.

Peace imposed through violence was ultimately only temporary suppression. Should the one wielding this power change disposition, or should a stronger challenger emerge, so-called peace would crumble instantly.

Nagato saw the other's disagreement but stubbornly persisted. "This is the only way... only by making the world experience equal pain can they understand each other..."

"How would newly generated pain be resolved?" Yu calmly countered. "What if someone stronger appears to resist those you've suppressed with force?"

This statement stunned Nagato. He'd never considered this question—or rather, he'd realized it but had no solution.

Yu sighed lightly. Further words were futile with the obstinate.

"Seems I arrived at the perfect time. This organization no longer needs to exist."
