A low-class devil, daring to taunt them—no wonder all three fallen angels were seething.
"Ignorant little worm. Tonight, you'll learn what true agony feels like!" hissed one of the female fallen angels. She shot a glance at Stephanie and Reinster. "Leave this brat to me. You two—go get Asia!"
Stephanie, ever cool-headed, didn't let anger cloud her judgment. "Sever, don't underestimate him. That sword's a Sacred Gear."
Sever barely looked back. "I know."
A Sacred Gear meant nothing, she thought. A low-class devil couldn't possibly wield its true power.
What none of them expected was Draconis's refusal to play by their rules.
As Stephanie and Reinster tried to slip past him—intent on attacking Koneko and Asia—Draconis's eyes went cold.
He vanished.
Knight's power surged, and all three fallen angels reeled at his speed.
Too fast!
Reinster felt a sudden gust, a warning sting at her neck—angelic instincts screaming danger.
She conjured a light blade, barely raising it to block—
Draconis materialized before her, silver sword flashing in a furious arc.
Clang!
Steel rang out, the force of his blow driving Reinster back several steps, her balance rattled.
Draconis stood, one hand on the Regalia Blade, gaze impassive. "Did I say you could leave?"
Reinster's face twisted in humiliation. She'd been forced back—by a low-class devil?
Impossible.
How was he this strong?
Fury overtook her. Snarling, she lunged, light sword slashing, angelic power flaring. "You bastard—die!"
Her rage erased all strategy; she cared nothing for Asia or Koneko now. Only Draconis mattered.
Sever, watching, smirked. "Guess I don't need to lift a finger. Reinster's out for blood."
She was sure the upstart devil would be shredded.
But Draconis didn't falter. He met Reinster head-on, magic surging into his blade. The Regalia Blade sang with excitement, matching every furious strike.
Clang, clang, clang, clang—
Metal hammered metal, Sacred Gear against light sword, neither side yielding. In mere seconds, they traded a dozen blows, shockwaves rippling out with every clash.
Koneko and Asia braced themselves against the gusts, skirts whipping around them, eyes glued to the fight. Even Koneko was stunned—Draconis was holding his own against a high-class angel.
Crack!
Stone shattered underfoot, the plaza pitted and scarred by their battle.
Reinster, unable to break through, grew desperate. She'd thrown everything at him, yet couldn't defeat a low-class devil. Unacceptable.
"Enough! Die already!" she roared, unleashing Angel's Judgment.
Though she'd fallen, her divine arts remained potent. This was a finishing move—meant to obliterate him.
Stephanie and Sever exchanged uneasy glances. Forced to use Angel's Judgment? Was he really just a low-class devil?
High above, a massive blade of sacred light formed, drawing even Rias's attention. The super-class angel glanced over, surprised at the spectacle.
Draconis didn't blink. Calmly, he raised his hand—five fingers spread.
The silver shield soared skyward, intercepting the descending blade.
Divine Lament.
Destructive force crashed against an invisible barrier. Draconis stood beneath the shield, black hair whipping, eyes deep and unreadable.
He'd expected Divine Lament to hold. But this was the turning point. Now, they'd stop underestimating him. Maybe all three would attack together.
Against a single high-class angel, Draconis seemed confident. Against three? The odds shifted.
But hope remained.
A plan formed. Draconis's lips curled into a faint smile. He angled his sword toward the ground, eyes sweeping over the trio of scantily clad fallen angels.
"You three birdbrains—why don't you come at me together?"
It was hard to believe he'd say something so brazen.
Behind him, Koneko and Asia stared as if seeing him for the first time.
Rias and Akeno were equally stunned.
"Ara ara… since when was our little man so bold?" Akeno's voice was full of delighted surprise.
Across the field, the super-class angel sneered. "Just a cocky little maggot. Is that mouth of yours trained from sucking on your sluts' clams every night?"
Rias's killing intent exploded. "You dare look down on my servant? He's worth ten thousand of you!"
Her magic surged, flames roaring—engulfing the trio of fallen angels in a wave of fury.
Provoked by Draconis's swagger, the fallen angels lost all restraint.
"I'll rip your mouth open and make you eat your own teeth!" Sever spat.
All three attacked at once.
Koneko and the others tensed. Three fallen angels, striking together—no one could withstand that unharmed.
But Draconis barely reacted.
Magic flared in his palm, dark red circles spinning and expanding around his fingers. A silver, dragon-engraved seal shot from the array—
The Sigil of Suppression.
Draconis lifted his gaze, eyes blazing. His voice rang out:
"Magic Seal!"
Hum—
Colorless ripples exploded outward, visible even in the night.
All three fallen angels felt their power stutter—and dropped from the sky like stones.
