"He will arrive at any moment." Ed confirmed this after entering the room.
Mary Allen, Judy's nanny, nodded calmly. She had made a serious mistake in her work and hoped it could be resolved before the day was over.
If Daniela remained possessed a little longer by the cursed spirit tormenting her, according to the Warrens, she could die.
At that moment, a series of black vans stopped outside the Warrens' house, and without even introducing themselves, the men in black who stepped out of the vehicles went to the nearby residents' houses to begin the evacuation.
Right then, Jonathan knocked on the door, and it was opened by Ed, who extended his hand to greet him.
"There are more people than I imagined." Jonathan was surprised by how many people were inside the Warrens' house; he definitely hadn't expected this.
"Priest Jonathan, this is Officer Brad. He is here because of his duties as a police officer in the area and wants to witness your work."
Brad, simply put, was the toughest one among those present. He looked at the priest in front of him—who, in simple sensations, was stronger than Brad—with awe in his eyes, took a step forward, and introduced himself in detail. "Hello, Priest, my name is Brad Hamilton from the local Police Department… Nice to meet you!"
In the presence of a police officer, Jonathan was slightly surprised, but he knew it wasn't unusual, so he shook his hand and said, "Hello, Officer Hamilton, a pleasure!"
Seeing they had finished getting acquainted, Lorraine continued introducing the last young man, who was about the same age as Jonathan. "This boy next to me is Drew Thomas, our assistant who is in charge of helping us with technical equipment."
Drew also took the initiative to step forward and extend his hand to greet the priest who would be performing the magic inside the Perron house. "Hello, Father, if you need any tool, you can tell me."
Just like before, Jonathan extended his hand again to shake it and nodded calmly. "Yes, that's what I'll do!"
Jonathan, who thought it appropriate to introduce his right hand, briefly extended his own hand and said, "Everyone, meet Priest Doug, he is my assistant and will be supporting me closely during my stay here. At my side is Wednesday, she will make sure you all are not a burden."
Everyone looked at Father Doug, who had a carefree appearance. He seemed like anything but an assistant priest, but they all nodded toward him.
At this moment, everyone had been introduced, and Ed—who had decided to help Doug with the luggage—had returned. "Priest, forgive my curiosity, but will you need all those things?"
"That's right, everything in there is my Exorcism equipment." Jonathan looked toward the house and said, "Very well, you must know it's a pleasure to meet new people, but I need to speak with Mrs. Warren. Mr. Ed, can you take everyone to the living room? Father Doug will be with you at all times."
Ed nodded toward Mary. She knew Jonathan needed space, so she left with the others nearby.
As everyone left, Jonathan fixed his gaze on this gloomy place, feeling how evil wrapped around every part of this area, and he discreetly sighed. He had learned that if there were no evil spirits nearby, the environment would be pleasant.
But in front of the lonely house, he could notice there was a large esophagic opening connecting with the lake.
The weather was pleasant and calm, making it truly suitable for a family to live there.
Besides this, there was a large tree, as thick as two people's arms, at the edge of the lake, but the situation above made him narrow his eyes slightly.
"Lorraine, you know how this works; you have special eyes, so tell me what you've seen and how many I'll be facing." Jonathan said this while staring at the tree, deciding to approach it slowly.
Seeing the direction the priest was heading, Lorraine unconsciously frowned, but knowing Jonathan needed to hear her, she followed him closely.
In the distance, Drew approached Ed, who was watching Priest Jonathan, and whispered, "Mr. Ed, why am I thinking those two things in the backpack are weapons?"
Ed withdrew his gaze, lifted the heavy backpack just like Drew, and replied indifferently, "There's something special about each priest's exorcism methods, after all, they don't only face the unseen." With that said, Ed began telling everyone to enter the house.
"Don't think about it, they are weapons." Wednesday said this while looking at the house with curiosity, eager to see something supernatural.
Drew, with a surprised expression, murmured, "I hope it isn't anything dangerous."
…
"Lorraine, how many have you seen during your days in this place?" Jonathan walked deliberately toward a tree, able to see with his own eyes a black aura, observing it with a calm expression.
"Priest, Daniela was possessed by an unknown cursed spirit. Her body only reacts when its name is mentioned, but it is dangerous to do so."
Jonathan looked at the tree's branches in silence but did not hurry to respond.
As he focused on the tree branch, Jonathan soon saw the figure of a female body dressed in white, releasing a sinister aura. This female body was hanging from the tree—exactly from one of its branches—and her expression couldn't be seen due to her messy hair.
This was a residual trace composed of resentment, hatred, and a deep sense of grievance—the source of the evil spirits in this house.
"Are you aware that bringing things into your personal museum will turn your home into hell?" Jonathan pointed at the branch of the tree and asked Lorraine, since she should have all the information about what had actually happened in this place.
As paranormal investigators, the Warrens' methods naturally kept up to date, and like him, they preferred physical methods—that is, they used various tools such as infrared cameras, temperature control machines, and recorders to identify the reality of the supernatural and the phenomena surrounding it.
Besides this, if supernatural events were real, they would focus on tracking the truth behind the source of the evil spirits to prevent large-scale supernatural incidents that could cause chain reactions.
Jonathan believed the Warrens had already discovered the cause and effect of the evil spirit's resentment before his arrival; otherwise, they would not have requested help from the church, who put them in contact with him since he was the closest.
Lorraine took a deep breath and said, "Yes, I know, but everything was under control until…"
"Until they attacked."
When Jonathan learned everything the Warrens knew, he made a strange sign with his hand and said, "I will grant them eternal rest…"
"All the objects here carry death, and you brought that into your home. To prevent things from growing, we must eradicate the source and expel this evil spirit."
Lorraine, seeing Jonathan walk quickly, followed and asked, "Priest, will you only focus on the spirit that possessed Daniela?"
In her eyes, there were at least several evil spirits in the house.
Jonathan's expression remained unchanged. He knew the aura chasing Daniela wasn't from one but two.
One contained extreme malice and the other was ordinary—meaning there were two evil spirits that had appeared alongside Carolyn.
"Something is strange, but I want to know what's happening in more depth…" Jonathan unconsciously looked at the sky; it was already afternoon, and the best time for the evil spirit to appear was at night.
Entering the house with Lorraine, seven people were sitting on the living room sofa.
There were some mats in front of the sofa; it was obvious they had slept together in the living room the night before.
Jonathan looked at the design of the house and unconsciously held his breath. Compared to the fiery lava smell of the devil, the evil spirit smelled cold and rotten, which was very unpleasant.
At the same time, this house appeared full of black, cold resentment, and the residual resentment could be seen floating in all directions.
The residual resentment varied in size, proving that indeed there was more than one evil spirit in this house and they were, in theory, dangerous.
"Doug, did you prepare the report?" Jonathan looked at him slightly to know how much he had seen.
