Most of the audience couldn't understand Shrek's strategy at all. Some had already started shouting insults, making their displeasure clear. Was the captain sitting at the back just some kind of mascot? They were all waiting to see what would happen to him. Surely, he wouldn't just walk off the stage after his team lost. That would be beyond embarrassing.
The crowd in the Great Spirit Arena was a mixed bag. They didn't care about your background or reputation. If they liked what they saw, they would cheer. If they didn't, they would immediately start cursing.
Bang!
Just then, Dai Mubai was sent flying back dozens of steps after taking a heavy blow from one of the frenzied fighters. He was panting heavily, his energy nearly gone.
"Boss Dai, are you okay?" Ma Hongjun called out from behind him.
Dai Mubai glanced back at Fatty's bruised face and snapped, "You should worry about yourself."
The other members of the Shrek team were in bad shape, too. Only Oscar, who had stayed in the back, was relatively unharmed. Ning Rongrong's spirit power was almost completely depleted from maintaining her support.
"You've all worked hard," a calm voice said. "Step back now. Leave the rest to me."
At this critical moment, Huo Feng slowly rose to his feet.
"He's getting up!"
Seeing Huo Feng finally move, the crowd below began to stir, pointing excitedly toward the stage.
"After sitting there for so long, is he finally going to fight?"
"I want to see what kind of power you have to act so calm until now."
"This better not be all for show. It'll be a joke if he can't even handle one of them."
It wasn't just the audience; the other Shrek students were also confused by Huo Feng's sudden command. What does he mean, 'step back'? Let him handle it? Isn't this a team battle?
Even with the enemy's support master unconscious, there were still six opponents on the field, and all of them were in a berserk state. Did he really intend to fight them all by himself? One against six? That seemed impossible.
"Oscar, make a few Flying Mushroom Sausages. One for everyone," Huo Feng said calmly as he walked forward, noticing their confused expressions.
"Huo Feng, Oscar's sausages only let us fly for one minute!" Dai Mubai protested. "And Oscar himself can only fly for half that time!"
Dai Mubai quickly figured out Huo Feng's plan: they were supposed to use the sausages to escape into the air. He had already analyzed the Berserker Team's sudden power-up. It had to be the thousand-year spirit ability their support master used before he was knocked out. It gave them a massive, temporary boost in strength. However, besides the spider woman, the rest of them had clearly lost their minds.
If he was right, their berserk state wouldn't last forever, just like Oscar's sausages. And when it ended, they would surely suffer from severe side effects. Otherwise, that support master's martial soul would be as powerful as Rongrong's Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda, which was impossible.
The problem was that he had no idea how long the enemy's state would last. If the sausages wore off while the Berserker Team was still in a frenzy, they would just be delaying their defeat. He strongly disagreed with this plan. He felt they had a better chance of facing them head-on, all seven of them together.
"One minute is enough," Huo Feng said with an indifferent shrug.
By the time a minute was up, his five thousand sacrifice points would have already been secured.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Dai Mubai was completely baffled.
As if reading his mind, Huo Feng added, "I've been observing them this whole time. Now, it's your turn to observe." He paused, then finished, "From the sky."
"What?!" Dai Mubai finally understood. Huo Feng was going to fight alone while the other six of them watched from above.
"Th-then what about you?" Oscar stammered. Unlike Dai Mubai, he had considered this possibility, and Huo Feng's words just confirmed his fear.
"I don't need one," Huo Feng replied with a small smile and a wave of his hand.
"Are you… are you sure about this?" Dai Mubai asked, his face a mask of disbelief. As the team's captain, Huo Feng's orders were absolute, and he would have to take full responsibility for the outcome.
Huo Feng just nodded, a bit exasperated. Why did these guys have so little faith in him? They were nothing like the three girls, who hadn't said a single word. In truth, Xiao Wu, Ning Rongrong, and Zhu Zhuqing were simply too shocked to speak.
Just then, the Berserker Team, sensing something was wrong, charged forward again.
There was no more time to think. In an instant, six strange-looking mushroom sausages appeared in the mouths of the Shrek members. As the enemy team closed in, their bodies suddenly felt weightless. Wings made of light appeared on their backs, and they shot into the air, rising to a height of twenty meters in seconds.
With their targets gone, the berserk fighters skidded to a halt, confused.
As the only one still in control, the spider woman was horrified. She never imagined her opponents had a way to fly. The Berserker Team had no flying Spirit Masters and no powerful long-range attacks. From twenty meters up, they were completely out of her reach.
"Wait, one of them is missing!" Her eyes widened in shock. There were only six people in the sky!
The one who was missing was the Spirit Master who had been sitting at the back the whole time—the same guy who had knocked out their teammate with a single punch in the lounge. She had been wary of him from the very beginning, but now she couldn't see him anywhere. A sense of panic began to set in. A person couldn't just vanish into thin air, could they?
"First Spirit Ability: Breaking Sword Slash!"
Suddenly, a violent surge of spirit power erupted from directly behind her. The spider woman's heart froze. Before she could even react, a blade of blue energy, crackling with terrifying electricity, slammed into her back.
Sizzle!
Chain lightning instantly leaped from her body and arced between the other five members of the Berserker Team, engulfing them all. The shocking scene left the entire audience speechless.
"Wh-when did he get behind them?"
"I don't know! I just blinked, and the kid was gone! I thought he flew up with the others."
"That spirit ability… it's insane!"
