The corporations controlled the city, while the families of the city, with ancient inheritances and traditions, silently supported and promoted them.
These families were the Graveson Family, Valenford Family, Wynters Family, and Langford Family.
There were, of course, other families with middle-stage 2nd rankers, but only these families had any real influence in Ashspire City.
