Chapter 83 - Chapter 83 Energy is a big problem

Luke did not answer the girl's question immediately, but jokingly said,

"Aren't you not interested in armor?"

Linda rolled her eyes and said, "That was before. It's different now."

No one would ignore something that might threaten their life.

Luke raised his eyebrows slightly, a little surprised. While sorting through the data, he casually said, "If you're interested, don't try to take it. The Ghost Armor has a self-destruct system. If something goes wrong, don't blame me for not warning you."

Linda said angrily, "Who do you think I am? I wouldn't wear such an ugly armor even if it was given to me for free."

Hey!

Luke was unhappy, "Do you understand art? If you don't, don't talk nonsense."

"Look carefully. Apart from its streamlined exterior design, Ghost 1 also has five major elements: black death, purple mystery, blue magic, metal technology, and mecha warfare. These five elements are independent in style, but I have perfectly integrated them together to create a groundbreaking work of art.

It's like an assassin who's traveled back from the future—cold, mysterious, ruthless, and merciless, yet possessing a breathtaking beauty. You've been blinding yourself by calling such a perfect thing ugly."

Linda pouted, "It's just a pile of metal, and you call it a work of art? Aren't you ashamed?"

Luke: "…"

"I can't communicate with you. There's nothing for us to talk about."

Linda pulled a chair and sat next to Luke, saying seriously, "But I want to talk to you."

Luke asked confusedly, "What are you talking about?"

"You promised to help me, wasn't it for this armor?"

"Why are you talking about armor? It's totally irrelevant!"

"Don't change the subject." Linda's face became more serious. "Although I don't like conspiracies, it doesn't mean I'm stupid. The reason you helped me is because you want to obtain Kryptonian technology from me and improve the Ghost Armor, right?"

Luke put down his work and nodded slowly.

"It's undeniable that what you said is correct, but you overlooked the most important point: fate."

"destiny?"

Linda sneered and said, "This is the most shameless explanation I have ever heard."

Luke smiled and asked a question, "Do you know how much energy that test just now consumed?"

As he spoke, he stretched out four fingers.

"40%!"

"In less than two minutes, nearly half of the energy was consumed,"

He sighed deeply, looking frustrated and helpless.

"A man isn't afraid of being short, but of weak waist and knees, and insufficient kidney power. What else can a guy who can't even last five minutes do?"

Linda's face flushed and she glared at him angrily, "Asshole!" He started talking dirty again.

Luke continued, "To solve the energy problem, I tried almost every technology on Earth. I even built a nuclear reactor as an auxiliary device, but it still didn't work."

"For two whole years, I guarded Ghost 1. Creative ideas surged in my head like a tsunami, but I couldn't realize them due to energy issues. Energy was like a dam, blocking all escape routes. You have no idea how painful that feeling was. It was at this time that you appeared, bringing even more advanced alien technology to my side."

"For me, this is destiny. I'll help you deal with the FBI and free you, and you'll help me solve my energy problem."

Linda said with a grim expression, "So, this is just a deal."

Luke shrugged. "Personally, a transaction without emotional involvement is the best option. After all, you're an alien, and I'm an Earthling. We're fundamentally different, but reality always presents unexpected situations."

"Sometimes I think, it would be great if you were a bug, then I could use all sorts of tricks to get anything I want out of you. Unfortunately, you happen to be a beautiful lady with fair skin, which is really a headache.

"

Linda narrowed her eyes and stared at him intently, "Just based on what you just said, I can kill you with one punch."

Luke smiled nonchalantly. "People love to hear lies because they sound nice, while the truth is annoying. Even if given a choice between the two, most people would still choose the former. The beautiful life in lies far outweighs the miserable reality. What do you think?"

"I don't want to listen to your twisted logic. I just want to ask you one thing. If I give you Kryptonian technology, will you use it against the Kryptonians?"

"meeting!"

Luke answered without hesitation, his serious look driving people crazy. This bastard really thought he couldn't do anything to him.

"Okay, stop testing me with such childish questions. I know what you're worried about and I understand how you feel. The reason I didn't promise you is because I didn't want to lie to you."

"The future is always changing. No one knows what will happen. Suppose one day you are controlled by someone and want to kill me. Should I just surrender and let them do the killing?"

Linda was speechless.

Luke continued, "If you're worried, you can come to ShowMe and be the president's assistant. I'm always welcome."

"I won't be your secretary. Don't think I don't know what you're thinking. You just want a human shield, a thug, and a maid. That's a nice thought."

Linda stood up and left, and when she reached the door she turned back and said,

"We'll depart tomorrow night. Before that, take care of whatever needs to be done. Once you're on board, I'll give you permission to freely learn some of the knowledge on the Fortress of Solitude. The deadline is one month. You won't learn much anyway."

After saying this, the person disappeared.

Luke raised the corner of his mouth and said with a strange expression,

"In just one month, you're overestimating Krypton's technological reserves."

For a genius who mastered quantum theory at the age of five, a month is too long.

The next morning, Luke convened a general meeting and handed over the version update plan and future arrangements to a few trusted people. He also announced that during his absence, Charlie would temporarily take over the position of president and be responsible for all the company's affairs.

Cindy, Zack and others asked why he was leaving. Luke didn't explain much, just saying that he had important matters to deal with and would be back in a month. They didn't need to worry and just do what they needed to do.

After arranging the company affairs, Luke called his family and friends, and then began to prepare food, clothing and supplies.

I have lived two lives, nearly half a century in total, and have never left the earth. The thought of leaving the earth and stepping into the vast galaxy makes my heart boil uncontrollably.

It feels like traveling abroad for the first time. I am curious and excited, but also a little worried.

At 11 o'clock in the evening, at the Seaside City Pier, a container full of things rose from the ground and disappeared like a shooting star.

Under the cover of night, the container traveled rapidly from south to north, and soon landed on an island somewhere in the Arctic Ocean.

Luke, wearing winter clothing, walked out of the container and looked curiously at the huge monster rising from under the ice.

The crystal pillars sparkling with different luster stand under the colorful sky, and the light complements each other, like a colorful ink painting with magnificent beauty.

"Is this the Fortress of Solitude?"

"So fucking beautiful!"

ps: I have been on a business trip these days and have been writing secretly. I feel so sad!
