Chapter 70 - Cooperation

A week had passed since the Nightclub in the dock district was cleared out.

During this week, New York's underground was extremely active, with countless scoundrels, who seemingly had their heads tied to their belts, searching everywhere for Vampires.

They shone fluorescent lights on everyone they met, and their actions caused much dissatisfaction among New York citizens.

But the citizens couldn't afford to offend these scoundrels, so they could only call the Police station for help every day.

The entire New York Police were incredibly busy, but they couldn't do anything about it.

They could only warn these guys who were flashing people with fluorescent lights, and the Police also knew the reason why these people were doing it.

The bounty offered by Orokin Technology was simply too tempting; a living Vampire could be sold for ten thousand.

If it weren't for the overly crude actions of these scoundrels, which suddenly increased the Police's workload...

The Police would have wanted to go catch Vampires themselves; the bonus was just too tempting.

Moreover, many Vampires had been captured these days, often starting with more than ten at a time, which made the Police incredibly envious.

Unfortunately, with the gangs' investigations and the official clean-up, the number of Vampires that could be caught was steadily decreasing.

However, the bounty issued by Orokin Technology was still active, indicating that Vampires had not been completely eliminated.

As long as residents got used to the fluorescent lights of those scoundrels, the Police could also go make arrests.

Furthermore, this couldn't be considered dereliction of duty; capturing Vampires was also to protect the lives of residents.

In the underground darkroom of Orokin Technology, over two hundred Vampires had been continuously added these days.

These Vampires had their limbs cuffed together, each one folded up and confined in a cage only fifty centimeters in length, width, and height.

Only Abel, the traitor among the Vampires, had it easier, residing in a single-person cell.

Initially, the Vampires who were brought in were restless, always wanting to escape this place.

After a few were electrocuted by the current released by Audis, they all settled down.

But they still thought about ambushing Andy, slowly killing the humans who captured them, and draining every last drop of blood from their bodies.

Meanwhile, the three Vampires who had been tortured beyond recognition by Andy remained silent.

They were filled with disdain for these lower-tier Vampires; even the three of them combined hadn't gained an inch against Andy.

These 'rotten fish and shrimp' caught by ordinary humans, did they really think they could ambush Andy, a scientist with explosive combat power? They were dreaming.

Amidst the clamor of these Vampires, the underground darkroom was opened.

The darkroom immediately became silent, eerily quiet.

The light from outside entered the darkroom through the open door, adding a glimmer of brightness.

"Whistler, this is where the Vampires are kept."

Andy's voice echoed in the darkroom, making all the Vampires tremble.

They had personally witnessed a Vampire, who thought he was powerful, being dismembered piece by piece by the owner of that voice.

The Vampire's remains were still soaking in the specimen pool beneath the darkroom.

Soon, Andy appeared in the darkroom, accompanied by a white-haired old man.

Some of the more powerful Vampires had seen this man; he was also a ruthless individual, and many Vampires had died at his hands.

"A small portion of these Vampires I caught personally; most were brought in through bounties."

As he spoke, he turned on the lights in the darkroom.

Looking at the hundreds of Vampires in cages here, Whistler gasped; he hadn't expected so many Vampires to appear in New York.

When he usually went out hunting Vampires with Blade, he would at most encounter an ambush of thirty or so Vampires.

The situation here was almost comparable to some large Vampire gathering places; how many Vampire strongholds had to be cleared to catch these?

Whistler couldn't imagine; no wonder Blade had been consistently unsuccessful lately—it turned out all the visible Vampires had been caught and brought here.

"Mr. Andy, what do you intend to do with these Vampires?"

Whistler couldn't be blamed for being curious; the number of Vampires here was simply too many, even for research, so many Vampires weren't needed.

"Haha, don't worry, these are just experimental materials.

I've found them to be quite good as test subjects; at least there's no need to worry about death due to experimental failure."

Saying this, Andy also opened the transparent floor of the darkroom and said, "Look, that pile of bones soaking in the specimen pool is one I dissected a few days ago.

Their body structure is almost identical to humans, which makes them very suitable for the products I will develop in the future."

Whistler nodded in understanding; he had always only had one option when dealing with Vampires: kill them.

Today, he realized that being able to be killed directly was also a kind of happiness.

"Blade and I can help you capture Vampires; of course, we'll need a small reward."

Making a money gesture and rubbing his fingers, Whistler looked at Andy with some embarrassment.

He felt a bit awkward, even a little ashamed.

Andy had captured more Vampires in these few days than he had killed in several years.

But Andy seemed particularly pleased; having professional Vampire hunters help with the capture.

It was much better than those amateur thugs who only caused trouble all day long.

Chief George had called him countless times these past few days, demanding that he revoke the bounty.

"No problem, you can call more Vampire hunters over; I can cover all your salaries.

If possible, I hope you can be stationed in New York; I'll ask Wilson for a place for you to use as your headquarters."

As if startled by Andy's sudden enthusiasm, Whistler took a while to realize that Andy was serious and not joking with him.

"Is this really possible?"

It wasn't that Whistler didn't believe Andy; it was mainly because they had never done anything like this before.

In Europe, they always received hunting missions in churches; Vampire hunters had never established their own headquarters.

"Of course, but I can't be the only one paying for this; those guys need to bleed a little too."

After saying that, Andy led Whistler out of the darkroom and had Audis connect calls to a few people.

"Long time no see, Andy, is something wrong?" This was Norman Osborn; he was always so meticulous.

Tony Stark, on the other hand, was more annoyed: "I'm designing equipment to hunt Vampires; if it's nothing important, don't bother me."

"Hey! Stark, adjust your attitude; I have some good news to tell you all."

Lying on the sofa, looking at the virtual projection in front of him, Andy was a bit displeased with Tony Stark's attitude.

"There are professionals who want to help us with the Vampire capture work. Stark, do you agree to cooperate?

And Norman, I have a large number of Vampires here that can serve as experimental materials; do you want to consider it?"

Their interest was piqued by Andy; they were both super-rich, so naturally, they couldn't personally maintain New York's security.

However, the existence of Vampires posed a considerable threat to themselves and those around them, forcing them to consider such matters.

Now that Andy told them there were professionals who could accomplish this task for them, they were too happy to refuse.

"Tell us, what are their demands? Money or equipment?"

Tony Stark, with his naturally unrestrained personality, quickly realized that Andy wanted them to jointly employ these people.

Norman Osborn also strongly agreed; employing these professionals would naturally incur costs.

If it was merely about money, Andy could afford it himself; the money he earned in a day was enough for these people to squander for several years.

Now that he had contacted them, it meant that they possessed something Andy needed.
