Chapter 63 - Research

Under the microscope, the Vampire's flesh and blood revealed its true form; unlike other creatures, the Vampire's muscle fibers possessed an unimaginable vitality.

Even after being separated from the Vampire's body, this flesh and blood maintained its activity.

For research purposes, Andy added some mouse blood to the flesh and blood.

Stimulated by the mouse blood, the grayish-white flesh and blood began to absorb the blood frantically, turning from grayish-white to pale pink, looking more like a fresh piece of flesh.

And this blood-absorbing flesh and blood slowly gathered together, attempting to repair its severe injuries.

But perhaps because the injuries were too severe, or because the Vampire itself was not present, the flesh and blood stopped connecting once they came together.

After some time researching, Andy discovered that the cell nuclei of this flesh and blood had been invaded by the Vampire virus; they had become one, inseparable.

This discovery led Andy to compare it with Blade's cells, and this comparison indeed revealed the problem.

Blade's cells were not fully fused with the virus like the Vampire's; when the virus entered the cell, most of its genetic information had already been truncated.

Only a small portion of genetic information could enter the cell and merge with it.

Moreover, when the virus's genetic information entered the cell, it would be partially cleared by the cytoplasm, and only information beneficial to Blade would be allowed to enter.

When Andy irradiated Blade's cells with a UV emitter, his cells were actually able to absorb a certain amount of UV light.

Perhaps this was a crucial reason why Blade's cells could clear the virus, and it was also the necessary path for Vampires to become Daywalkers.

It seemed there were still many secrets to Blade's body; at least concerning Vampires, it was certain that Blade was a true Daywalker.

However, the Vampire's cells simply could not withstand UV light; through the microscope, Andy could clearly see that the Vampire's cells began to collapse the moment they came into contact with UV light.

The cytoplasm within the cells instantly evaporated, and the entire cell resembled extremely dehydrated dry soil, turning into dust with a light touch.

And the cell nucleus directly disintegrated, becoming a wisp of smoke scattering in the air.

The cells of these two had distinct differences, and Andy didn't know what these Vampires would need to use to transform into a Daywalker state.

But one thing was certain: Daywalkers truly existed.

Perhaps someone had researched a special item that allowed Vampire cells to transform into Daywalkers, which was why these Vampires were expanding here so recklessly.

Lying on the sofa, deep in thought, Andy suddenly noticed a section of finger bone that had just been severed from the Vampire's hand.

Staring at the finger bone for a while, a strange idea popped into his head.

The Vampire's bone might hold the answer.

With this thought, Andy threw the finger bone into a pulverizer, and as the pulverizer started, the pale finger bone was ground into powder.

He put the powder into a test tube and added some of the solution Norman Osborn used when extracting Bragi's bones.

The powder and solution mixed thoroughly, then gradually separated under the action of a centrifuge.

After separation, three distinct layers appeared in the test tube: a layer of bone powder sediment, a mixture of oil and solution, and an extremely thin layer of blood-red substance.

He extracted the blood-red substance and observed it carefully under the microscope.

The blood-red substance was largely composed of the Vampire virus, with the remainder being some mutated Vampire viruses.

These mutated Vampire viruses were extremely similar to the Vampire virus within Blade, yet there were also differences between them.

The structure of the virus within Blade was reticular, while the structure of these mutated viruses was tubular.

Placing these Vampire viruses under a UV emitter, Andy observed through the instrument that normal Vampire viruses were directly destroyed by UV light.

However, the mutated Vampire viruses withstood the UV light for a few seconds before their tubular outer walls were broken and they were destroyed.

Seeing this, Andy suddenly realized that this should be the true method for Vampires to transform into Daywalkers.

However, this mutated virus only existed within the bones, and its quantity was extremely low, making large-scale production of these mutated viruses impossible.

According to Andy's estimation, the mutated virus consumed by a Vampire to transform himself into a Daywalker would need to be extracted from nearly ten thousand Vampires.

If it were done without endangering life, the number of Vampires required would be even more enormous, multiplying by a hundred times would not be an exaggeration.

This was clearly impossible; if the Vampire upper echelons truly intended to do this.

Then they would not only have to face enemy attacks but also confront their own large numbers of kin.

At that time, they would be enemies of the world, and such a thing, one knew, Vampires would not do.

"Audis, save and back up the recent experimental records."

After backing up the experimental records, Audis spoke.

"Sir, I think you should eradicate these Vampires. They seem even more annoying than Gluttony's Infested virus; at least Gluttony doesn't let the virus run rampant."

No sooner had Audis finished speaking than Gluttony emerged from within Andy.

It transformed its body into a slender spike and plunged into the speaker from which Audis's voice came.

Watching Gluttony, who seemed to be throwing a tantrum at Audis, Andy chuckled, "Don't talk about it like that. Didn't it just cover all your cameras and speakers when it was feeding?"

Gluttony's aggrieved thought was transmitted to Andy's mind, making Andy find it amusing. Gluttony was now as aggrieved as a child.

"Oh, alright! But I still have to say, it's better to clean up these Vampires. I don't want you and Miss Tina to get hurt."

Audis's voice came from the laboratory ceiling, his tone revealing a hint of helplessness.

He didn't trust these Vampires. In his logical unit, apart from humans, all other intelligent life forms were no different from ordinary experimental materials.

In the past, unaware of Vampires, Audis merely executed his usual intelligent logic, treating animals as experimental materials.

But since yesterday, when Vampires were contained in the darkroom, his logical unit underwent some changes.

Not all intelligent life forms were human, so all other non-human intelligent life forms would be regarded by him as experimental materials.

If encountered, they would be directly captured, and if the target resisted during capture, they would be directly executed.

This change was somewhat obvious, and Andy could clearly perceive it, but Andy was not worried about Audis losing control.

The Orokin Empire's intelligent technology certainly had countermeasures for such situations, and furthermore, Audis was just an artificial intelligence.

One should know that in the Orokin Empire, there were intelligent central units, which were created by directly stripping the consciousness of living people.

Even after transforming from humans into intelligent central units, these people had no power to resist and could only submit to the might of the Orokin Empire.

And a mere artificial intelligence program like Audis would be even less likely to break through the technological blockade of Orokin Technology.

"Yes, these Vampires will all be eliminated by me. They are just a bunch of dregs living in the Shadow."

Saying this, Andy recalled Gluttony into his body, gently laughing as he soothed Gluttony's emotions.

However, to the Vampire in the sealed room, every action Andy made now exuded a bloody scent, and that blood was from the Vampires themselves.

In his view, Andy would be the butcher who would exterminate the entire Vampire race, and he prayed in his heart, hoping that Andy would spare him when exterminating the entire race.
