Chapter 52 - Chapter 52: Anthony's rage

Ren slowly approached Cosmic, who was still bleeding heavily and barely conscious.

"Goodbye," Ren said softly, raising his sword.

Cosmic couldn't move due to his injuries and could only watch as death approached. He barely managed to give a half-smile to his friends… and in the next instant, his head was severed.

Silence swallowed the battlefield.

For a moment, no one spoke. No one moved.

Adrian trembled violently, his mind unable to process what he had just seen. Riley stood frozen, her lips quivering.

Anthony, however… snapped.

"YOU BASTARD!" he roared.

Ren smiled, clearly enjoying their reactions.

But then his smile faded.

Despite being pinned down by overwhelming gravitational pressure, Anthony forced himself up through sheer brute strength, veins bulging across his arms and neck. The ground beneath him cracked as he stood.

Before Ren could react, Anthony vanished.

In the next instant, his fist collided with Ren's face with catastrophic force, launching him through multiple buildings. The impact obliterated the military base, steel and concrete erupting into the air as the battlefield exploded outward into the open sky.

Anthony teleported again, appearing in front of Ren mid-flight, grabbing his collar and hurling him across the planet toward a distant mountain hundreds of miles away. The mountain shook violently as Ren's body slammed into it.

Anthony was already there waiting.

He unleashed a relentless barrage of punches, each strike carving massive craters into the mountain. Rock shattered. Shockwaves rippled across the landscape. The entire mountain range trembled as Anthony beat Ren deeper and deeper into stone.

By the end of it, Ren's body was mangled beyond recognition. Every bone shattered. Blood pooled beneath him. His vision blurred as warmth left his body.

He was seconds from death.

And yet… he smiled.

Within moments, flesh reformed. Bones snapped back into place. Blood reversed its flow. In seconds, Ren stood up completely unharmed, as if nothing had happened.

Flashback:

Ren turned his head.

It was the naked woman.

"Do you need anything, God of the Planet of Discoveries?" Ren asked.

"Hm? How about not killing them?" she suggested lightly.

"No. A local god like you shouldn't interfere with my plans," Ren replied coldly.

Adrian, watching from afar, felt his thoughts spiral. Local god? She's a god? How does Ren know her?

The woman leaned closer and whispered into Ren's ear.

"If you don't kill them, I will grant you the ability to instantly regenerate whenever you want."

Ren paused only briefly.

"Deal."

Present:

"H-How?" Anthony whispered, his rage dissolving into fear.

"You don't need to know," Ren replied calmly.

He sighed. "To think… a mere Light of Justice forced me to use regeneration. Disappointing."

"You had regeneration…? Why didn't you use it before?" Anthony asked, trembling.

"I possess many powerful abilities," Ren answered casually. "I prefer not to use them. Fights would end too quickly."

He stepped closer.

"But that wasn't bad," Ren admitted, almost impressed. "Come on. Do that again."

Anthony didn't move.

His hope had shattered.

Ren leaned close to his ear. "Or would you like me to kill another one of your friends?"

Cosmic's death flashed through Anthony's mind.

Rage ignited again.

Anthony threw another punch, smashing Ren into a wall.

But Ren instantly teleported in front of him, expression bored.

"Hm. Not as strong as before. That little power-up was a one-time thing, wasn't it?"

Anthony ignored him and began unleashing blow after blow, fists colliding with Ren's face and torso repeatedly. Cracks formed in the ground beneath them from the force.

But Ren didn't move.

His wounds regenerated instantly after every strike.

After a while, Ren sighed.

He casually backhanded Anthony, sending him flying across the terrain. In a blink, Ren teleported in front of him again, their faces inches apart.

"Do you know what happens when I launch someone upward using my gravitational abilities?"

Anthony glared weakly.

"They get sent into outer space," Ren whispered. "And eventually… they suffocate."

Ren slowly raised his fingers, gravitational energy condensing at the tips.

Before he could release it—

Adrian lunged in and kicked Ren across the jaw, breaking several of his bones.

They regenerated instantly.

Adrian froze. "W-What?"

"You're late to the party, Adrian," Ren replied with a grin.

Ren formed a gravity sphere in his palm and fired it point-blank.

The compressed gravitational ball tore through Adrian's side, blasting a massive hole through his body. Adrian collapsed instantly.

Adrian lay on the ground, barely conscious. And then… he remembered.

When He was in the planet of discoveries, he had summoned a portal using his new ability, which had teleported him to Earth.

A portal.

Adrian's mind raced. If I can do that again… maybe I can send Ren somewhere else.

He didn't know how to use it.

But he had to try.

Ren casually sat on a large rock, resting his chin on his hand.

"So," he said calmly, looking at the broken duo, "which one of you, wants to die first?"
