Chapter 23 - David vs Allura 2

Suddenly, Eldon's lungs ruptured from the pressure, and he coughed up a mouthful of blood that drifted weightlessly in the void. David couldn't help but laugh at the sight, the sound echoing unnaturally in the silence of space. Without hesitation, he grabbed Eldon by the legs, completely ignoring the searing pain as raw magical energy burned against his flesh.

With every ounce of strength he had, David hurled Eldon's body toward the blazing sun, his movements precise even in zero gravity. He made sure not to look directly at the light—it wasn't worth losing his sight over. Once the body vanished from view, David let go and allowed himself to free-fall back toward Earth, the vast curve of the planet growing larger beneath him. The camera orbs followed faithfully, spinning in his wake, but he ignored their presence, more focused on the faint glow of the atmosphere rushing up to meet him.

[Goldengold] So, he just took a life?

[The Allmighty Snake] Smart, Superman, and those other heroes would have never thought of that… and fuck the whole no killing thing..

[69overlord] He didn't kill him, the guy killed himself… but I'm sure the government is going to use this against him.

[The Allmighty Snake] He didn't even kill the guy; the guy didn't know how space worked, lol, that was pretty smart on David's side.

[Ima Homeau] Is it me, or is that guy's body getting closer to Judge's body?

[Rick] What a weird movie this is…

[I Can't Believe It's Not Butter] Guy above, it's called a stream. Lol.

[Rick] A stream? Interesting.

[Your Momma] Old people nowadays. I'm shocked you could tap that out.

[He Who Watches] Judge, behind you!

The stream fell into complete silence as David's body rocketed toward Earth, flames streaking across his form from the sheer friction tearing at the atmosphere. The heat was enough to melt steel, yet it barely affected him—his skin barely singed, as though his body itself refused to burn.

Mid-fall, David turned sharply, catching sight of Eldon diving after him, the necromancer's mangled hand reaching out. Acting on instinct, David's body twisted with perfect control. His legs coiled around Eldon's outstretched arm, breaking it in the process, and with a powerful pull, he launched himself forward. In the same motion, his elbow crashed straight into Eldon's face with a thunderous crack..

Eldon tried to fight back, but in a contest of pure physical strength, who could ever match David? The difference between them was overwhelming. Desperate, Eldon poured everything he had into his descent, hurling himself toward Earth with reckless abandon. The air screamed around them, the pressure warping the sky itself as they fell faster and faster—so fast that even the speed of lightning felt sluggish in comparison.

David pushed through the chaos, his body straining under the immense force. Even with his near-limitless endurance, the sheer velocity made it hard to keep control. Then, in one blinding instant, they slammed into the ground. But instead of the catastrophic explosion the world expected, the earth beneath them seemed to soften, bending and absorbing the force like a living sponge that swallowed their impact whole.

David staggered slightly as he hit the ground, coughing up a mouthful of blood that splattered across the dirt. Across from him, Eldon's mangled body twisted unnaturally, bones cracking and reforming until he stood whole once more. Without hesitation, Eldon tore himself free from David's grasp, stumbling back to create distance between them.

"For a human, you're truly remarkable," Eldon said with a twisted grin, his voice dripping with malice. His amusement only grew when he saw David looking at his wounds, failing to close. His burnt body refused to heal, the bruises refused to fade—his healing had stopped entirely.

It wasn't hard to see why. Allura, who had now taken full control of Eldon's body, had sealed away the negative energy that David relied on to form his curse energy. For the first time in a while, David found himself unable to draw upon his power… and forced to fight on nothing but sheer will and strength.

"I want your body… no, I need your body," she said with open greed, her voice carrying an unnatural hunger. How could she not covet it? David's body was unique—an existence capable of channeling power from the emotional spectrum without a ring.

At first, she had merely desired his form because he stood as the strongest mortal, someone who had single-handedly defeated a Lord of Chaos. But now, seeing him up close, she realized his body was far beyond what she imagined—something that defied logic, a vessel fit even for a higher being like herself.

"At least buy me dinner first," David said with a tired sigh, stretching his arms as if this were nothing more than a mild inconvenience. His gaze drifted to Zatara, who was standing a short distance away. It was thanks to him that the earth hadn't been obliterated—his quick spellwork had altered the ground's structure, absorbing what would have been a devastating explosion.

You think—" Allura's words caught in her throat as David suddenly appeared before her. He had moved without warning, covering several meters in less than a heartbeat. It wasn't teleportation—just pure, overwhelming physical speed.

Panicking, Allura quickly raised a shimmering barrier, layers of magic rippling across the air like liquid glass. But the moment David's fist met it, the barrier shattered like fragile crystal, the force of the impact sending her rocketing through the air. She tumbled backward before stopping herself midair, her body glowing faintly as she stabilized her position and glared down at him.

"How are you this strong?!" she screamed, disbelief twisting her expression. "I sealed away your connection to the emotional spectrum!"

David didn't answer. He simply looked up at her, with a calm and relaxed. To her, it was impossible—how could a human's mere body move faster than lightning itself? How could a single punch carry the weight of an earthquake?

"You thought I was going all out when fighting that Lord of Chaos?" David said with a faint smirk, shifting his stance as he began bouncing lightly from side to side. "That was just training." His tone was calm, but the confidence behind it sent a chill through the air.

Allura's grin widened, excitement flickering across her face. The more power he displayed, the deeper her desire for his body grew. To her, David was the perfect vessel—one that could finally contain her full essence without shattering.

Raising her hand, she began chanting in a dark, ancient tongue. The air rippled, and with a blinding flash, reality twisted itself to her will. Space bent, light dimmed, and for an instant, David's form seemed to unravel as her spell took hold. His powers vanished completely—or so she thought.

Her confidence faltered when her pupils shrank in disbelief. The "David" she had targeted dissolved into mist, revealing it to be nothing more than an afterimage left behind. The real David stood behind her, untouched, watching with quiet amusement.

A sea of afterimages erupted around Allura, each one moving with terrifying speed and precision. They closed in from every direction, forcing her to abandon her attempt to warp reality itself. She quickly shifted her focus, trying desperately to sense David's next move before it came.

Her instincts screamed at her—she spun sharply, slicing through the very fabric of space. The air tore apart like paper, and a sharp line of crimson splattered across the sky as a severed hand tumbled through the air.

But before she could process what had happened, David was already upon her. His fist shot forward, punching straight through Eldon's head with bone-shattering force. Without hesitation, he caught the severed hand midair and drove the entire limb clean through Eldon's chest like a spear, the impact echoing through the landscape.

"Now!" David roared, kicking off the air with explosive force, propelling himself backward just as Zatara completed his incantation.

A surge of magic burst forth from Zatara's hand, and instantly, Eldon's body began to distort—his form stretching unnaturally as it was pulled toward the enchanted necklace clutched in Zatara's grasp. The spell's power was immense, the air itself vibrating as the necklace acted like a vortex, trying to seal the entity within.

But even with her head shattered and her torso torn through, Allura's will still burned inside Eldon's broken frame. She sneered through the damage, lifting a trembling hand. With a single motion, the necklace warped and twisted, transforming into a swarm of glistening, venomous spiders that scattered in every direction across his body.
