In Darkmoon City, Moon Rage stood on the city walls, watching the approaching Kaldorei.
"At such a critical moment, we are still fighting among ourselves."
Metri sighed, his aluneth continuously casting spells, injuring any warriors who dared to approach the city walls. However, against the Mages, Metri struck to kill.
These Mages were the ones who decided to attack Darkmoon City.
Turan and Vaschi ascended the high platform, also looking into the city. They had been attacking for over a month, yet they still hadn't managed to breach Darkmoon City's walls once.
"Moon Rage's subordinates are all veterans from the First Legion, all elite warriors. And I don't know where Metri got that artifact staff; it's incredibly powerful."
As he spoke, Turan looked at the artifact staff in his own hand, which paled in comparison to aluneth.
Vaschi the Mage sneered, "So what? Darkmoon City is already a dead city. As long as we keep at it, their magical materials will soon run out, and that will be our chance to break through Darkmoon City."
Turan's mouth twitched, "But, our losses will also be severe."
"Serving His Majesty, even if we all die, we must take Darkmoon City."
As Vaschi the Mage spoke, the Mages behind her all looked at Turan with unfriendly gazes.
Turan chuckled awkwardly, "You're right."
He deeply regretted it now; if only he hadn't listened to Savis's incitement back then. Now he was already on Savis's pirate ship and couldn't get off.
Just then, a rainbow streaked across the western sky, arriving in an instant. The rainbow descended from the sky, landing precisely in the middle of the high platform, kicking up a large amount of dust.
Before the light had dissipated and the dust settled, a large number of soldiers had already rushed out, attacking the surrounding Vashj'ir and Dalaran armies.
"Carlos?"
Turan exclaimed, and the Dalaran army, seeing Alpha Squad appear, also stood frozen on the spot.
At this moment, the rainbow light dissipated, and a gust of wind scattered the dust.
Gale held the eternal spear high, "Azshara summoned demons and massacred the Kaldorei; she is a traitor to the Kaldorei race. Lay down your weapons and surrender now, and I will let bygones be bygones. If anyone dares to resist, kill them without mercy!"
The Dalaran army, hearing this, immediately fell into hesitation.
Seeing this, Turan immediately flashed before Gale and shouted, "Dalaran was deceived by Azshara and Savis, which is why we participated in this war. I am willing to pledge allegiance to you on behalf of Dalaran; please forgive our past transgressions."
The Dalaran army, seeing this, put down their weapons one after another.
Vaschi the Mage was furious and raised her staff, casting a spell at Turan: "Turan, you traitor, die!"
Antaria raised her hand, conjuring a shield for Turan.
Mejia lifted his mechanical-like head, "No one dares to defy my King's command!"
He raised the Lich Bane, condensed soul divine power, and pointed at the high platform. The high platform was instantly frozen, and Vaschi and her attendant Mages were encased in a massive block of ice.
The Vashj'ir army was stunned; what kind of monster was that?
On the city walls, Moon Rage watched the changes outside the city, somewhat at a loss.
Metri, however, immediately spotted Gale, "It's His Majesty!"
He immediately cast a mass teleportation spell, teleporting the soldiers on the city wall to below the city.
Moon Rage also reacted, "Attack!"
The Vashj'ir soldiers were caught in a pincer attack and were no match. Due to a lack of command, many soldiers were fighting individually. Morale gradually dropped, and coupled with constant comrades being killed, these soldiers also became afraid and chose to surrender.
Carlos led Alpha Squad across the battlefield. Seeing Moon Rage approach, he greeted him and continued to be busy.
Moon Rage looked at Carlos's body in surprise; why was he wearing a low-ranking officer's insignia?
"He made a mistake before and was demoted to the bottom by His Majesty," Metri explained.
"I see!"
Moon Rage thoughtfully looked at Gale; if he could punish his own cousin so severely, it was no wonder his subordinates were so loyal to him.
Walking up to Gale, Moon Rage hesitated a little.
Before, he was Gale's superior; later, although Gale became the leader, it was still an alliance. Now that Gale was King, how should he conduct himself?
Should he kneel before Gale, like Gale's subordinates? He found it difficult to do.
But if he didn't kneel and declare allegiance, he would probably be far from the political center in the future.
While he was thinking, he heard Turan confessing to Gale again.
"Your Majesty, please forgive my sins. I was deceived by Azshara and Savis before and did many wrong things, which now fill me with immense regret."
"When we supported Heda'shal, I led the ambush of the logistics troops. Savis wanted to use this to frame Your Majesty, but fortunately, Your Majesty successfully resolved the crisis and helped the First Legion defeat the Trolls. It was during this battle that I admired Your Majesty's wisdom and no longer wished to be an enemy of Your Majesty."
Turan's words greatly astonished all the surrounding soldiers.
Many of them had participated in the battle of Heda'shal, and if it weren't for Gale, they would probably have died at the hands of the Trolls.
Especially the Dalaran soldiers, their gazes towards Turan were not good. They never expected that the lord Mage they always respected had once tried to kill them.
Turan naturally knew the soldiers' reactions, but he could not bear the condemnation of his conscience.
"Your Majesty, this attack on Darkmoon City was also due to Savis's deception. He said that Your Majesty was killed because of a rebellion, and Lord Moon Rage was involved in this matter. If I didn't send troops to attack Darkmoon City, once Darkmoon City was breached, he would lead troops to attack Dalaran. I was afraid, so I led the army here, but as soon as I arrived, Vaschi took over military command. Vaschi the Mage sent trusted aides to watch me and forced the Dalaran army to participate in the attack. Please, Your Majesty, do not blame them; it is all my fault!"
The Dalaran soldiers were once again moved; Turan's words absolved them from the matter of attacking Darkmoon City.
"Turan!"
Gale said, "From the very beginning, I knew it was you."
Turan looked up and asked in confusion, "Then why didn't you expose me?"
Maiev said from the side, "If it were up to me, you would have been sent to the Temple of the Moon for judgment long ago. But Gale said you were deceived by Savis and were not inherently that bad."
Turan cried tears of joy, "Your Majesty, please punish me! I am willing to atone for my sins."
Gale scanned everyone and said with a solemn expression, "I declare the dismissal of Turan from his position as Lord of Dalaran, the revocation of Turan's title, and the confiscation of one thousand gold coins from Turan's property, to be used to comfort the families of the logistics troops and to erect a monument in memory of the logistics soldiers who fell in battle."
The Dalaran soldiers breathed a sigh of relief. Although Turan had almost harmed them, they still felt some sympathy for Turan.
Gale's punishment neither harmed Turan's life nor failed to compensate the logistics troops who were harmed, which was as fair as could be for them.
