Chapter 81 - Chapter 81 Soul Reaper

"You finally made it!"

Maiev collapsed into Gale's arms, feeling his heartbeat, and found a special sense of peace.

Unfortunately, a spoilsport appeared. Carlos jumped down from the watchtower and rushed to Gale's side in a few steps, "What took you so long?"

Gale spread his hands, "I am, after all, the Quartermaster, in charge of the entire logistics force. I can't just abandon the troops."

Carlos was speechless. He knew Gale was telling the truth, but he still couldn't help but say, "If you had been any later, we might have been killed by this monstrous loa, Hakkar."

Gale then looked at the big guy in the sky, his eyes almost popping out: "Hakkar!?"

"You know it?" Carlos asked, puzzled.

Of course I know!

Gale shouted in his heart. Not only did he know Hakkar, but he also knew a lot about Hakkar. This wind serpent was definitely the number one among the troll loa. Neither the loa king Rezan, worshipped by the Zandalar Troll, nor the already slain Hydra Nash, were as powerful as Hakkar.

Hakkar possessed Corrupted Blood, which not only contained dark energy but could also spread plague. The more blood he drank and the more souls he devoured, the stronger he became. Given enough blood and souls, Hakkar could probably evolve into the world-devouring serpent, Jormungandr.

If any loa could rival Hakkar, it would probably only be G'huun. G'huun, though called a loa, was actually an artificial Old God. Though a failed experiment, his power far surpassed that of a loa. He merely shed a little blood and instantly killed Rezan; the so-called power of the loa king was truly touching.

Maiev also felt embarrassed to stay in Gale's arms. She helped Gale stand up and reminded him, "You need to be careful; this Hakkar is incredibly powerful."

Gale nodded gravely, "I will fight him in a moment. If I don't have a chance of winning, you two retreat immediately. Then notify Tulan, and have him inform Grand Magister Elisande and Prince Farodis."

Maiev nodded. No matter how powerful Hakkar was, could he withstand three Titan artifacts? The Hydra Nash, much larger than him, was defeated with just Aggramar's Shield and the tide stone.

Gale took out Aggramar's Shield and Nash's Fang, looking up at Hakkar.

Hakkar also saw Gale. This newly arrived Dark Troll was the strongest among everyone present. Moreover, the two pieces of equipment he brought out contained powerful divine energy, clearly not ordinary artifacts. Especially that dagger; he felt a very familiar divine energy from it—the divine energy of the loa, Hydra Nash.

Is Nash already dead?

It's not Hakkar's fault for being so ignorant; his main base was in the Gurubashi Empire to the south. However, the current Gurubashi Empire bordered the Amani Empire, and a group of ostracized Hakkari chose to go north. To spread their faith, they came into contact with the Bloodbark tribe.

This is also why Hakkar needed to be summoned, instead of appearing directly like Nash and Shadra. He was too far from here to arrive immediately.

So, it was normal for Hakkar not to know that Nash and Shadra had died.

Nash's death didn't scare Hakkar. Nash was indeed powerful, but his weakness was also very obvious; as long as his regeneration could be stopped, he could be easily killed. Hakkar was different; once he was injured, he would cause a lot of trouble for his enemies.

Corrupted Blood is a common term in the World of Warcraft game; as long as a creature falls, their blood can be called Corrupted Blood. Even the nascent Titan Argus, after his fall, his blood was called Corrupted Blood.

However, only Hakkar's Corrupted Blood was special; it was also called the Blood of the loa. If trolls consumed it, they would fall into endless darkness, remaining in a state of constant rage, which could enhance the trolls' combat abilities.

But once the Blood of the loa was used as Hakkar's spell, it would turn into a powerful plague. In the game, the Blood of the loa erupted in Ironforge, reportedly killing over a million players. If this were to happen to the Kaldorei, the Kaldorei Empire would be annihilated.

Of course, reality and the game are different. The effect of Hakkar using the Blood of the loa would certainly not be so exaggerated. But even if the harm was a hundred or a thousand times smaller than in the game, the consequences would still be unbearable for the Kaldorei.

Therefore, this was also why Gale decided to use Nash's Fang—not just because it was an artifact, but also because it could instantly freeze the Blood of the loa, preventing the plague from appearing.

He raised Nash's Fang, and cold air immediately surged out, directly towards Hakkar.

Hakkar tilted his head, looking at Gale mockingly, "mortals, do you wish to challenge a god?"

Gale calmly said, "Hakkar, I know you are formidable. But you are far, far from being a god!"

"Is that so?" Hakkar was eager to see what confidence this mortal before him had to say such words.

Hakkar didn't wait too long; the cold air quickly enveloped him. Gale, to avoid alerting him, did not directly attack Hakkar with the cold air, but rather gathered power around him.

After the cold air gathered enough power, it instantly turned into ice, freezing Hakkar within it.

Hakkar was completely unable to move, crashing to the ground with the ice, but his only movable eye showed endless mockery, as if saying: Is that all??

Gale's heart tightened as Hakkar's entire body emitted a transparent energy, directly shattering the ice. Hakkar then gracefully floated in the air, slowly rising back to his previous height.

The trolls knelt before Hakkar, revering his power. At this moment, they would worship any loa capable of fighting the Kaldorei.

Feeling the faith power of tens of thousands of trolls, Hakkar stretched his body comfortably. A hint of cunning flashed in his eyes; compared to faith power, he preferred to gain power through devouring.

The title of Soulflayer was not given for nothing.

However, with enemies present, he couldn't devour these trolls. He had to put on a show in front of outsiders. But devouring these outsiders was also a good option, especially that guy with two artifacts; his soul would be very powerful.

Hakkar opened his giant mouth, "mortals, accept the judgment of a god!"

A suction force enveloped Madwind Post, and everyone felt a huge pulling power. The Kaldorei's bodies didn't move; Hakkar was pulling at their souls.

"What's going on?" The Kaldorei had never encountered such an attack before and had no idea how to resist.

Maiev quickly entered a state of prayer, but her stamina was exhausted, and the moonlight from her prayer was not strong enough, only able to protect Gale and Carlos beside her.

"Roar!"

The Proto-Dragon that had just landed at the outpost also let out a terrified howl. Clearly, it had never encountered such a situation either. However, a dragon's soul was far stronger than a Kaldorei's, and the Proto-Dragon struggled for a moment before breaking free from Hakkar's pull.
