Catherine stared at the gifts in front of her, suddenly finding them disgusting.
She almost fooled herself for a minute, thinking the gifts were because he cared for her.
Her hands came down on one of the gifts, and she sent the tray flying across the room.
It shattered against the wall, and the jewels in it scattered.
She turned to the next one, doing the same, and the silks slid across the floor.
The servants screamed, startled.
"Your Highness, these are gifts from the King," Emily warned, terrified by her outburst.
But Catherine didn't care and continued to flip the rest.
Her face burned with anger at the thought of Emilia getting another title to her name.
She had tried in the last few days to curry favor with Lucas, trying everything to make him forgive her family and spare them.
But all she got each time was a cold response, and that made her livid.
Just like Emilia, she had also known him from the time she could walk.
