The girl's laughter rang out across the frozen field.
"Don't be in such a hurry." She took one light step forward.
BOOM!
The air behind her burst apart. Snow scattered in every direction as her body vanished.
In the next blink she appeared above Duke Sant. Her long black hair spread in the wind as she raised the spear with both hands.
The strike came down like lightning.
The spear stabbed forward so fast that it almost disappeared from sight.
"We will kill you either way!!"

Duke Sant moved at the last moment. He lifted his sword and turned it sideways, using the flat side of the blade to block.
The spear tip slammed against the sword.
The impact was so strong that Duke Sant's feet left the ground.
His body flew backward through the cold air. The force made his injured chest burn with pain.
But Duke Sant did not lose his focus.
