William felt nothing from the being that held his father.
No aura.
No surge of power.
No pressure leaking into the surroundings.
And yet, the moment William laid eyes on it, he understood something was deeply wrong.
Unlike the red devil from earlier, this creature radiated no presence at all. The red devil had been loud with power. Its energy spilled outward like flames from a furnace.

It was silent.
Completely cloaked in darkness, its form barely distinguishable from the shadows surrounding it. Only two narrow eyes could be seen clearly, fixed on William with cold scrutiny.
Despite the lack of aura, the effect it had on the environment spoke for itself.
The Death Sink behind it pulsed irregularly.
Its swirling surface trembled as if reacting to the creature's mere existence.
That alone made it clear.
This foe was strong.
Very strong.
Yet William's focus was not on the monster.
His gaze was locked on the man it held.
