Chapter 146 - YGS [146]

Luya had originally planned to price the game console at around 400,000 Mora.

However…

After hearing the crowd's discussion, he began to feel that 400,000 Mora might be too low. Yet setting it too high wouldn't be ideal either.

So…

Luya decided to fix the retail price at 500,000 Mora—100,000 more than his initial plan.

Earning a bit extra wouldn't hurt… Most of the customers visiting his shop were quite well-off anyway.

His goal was for this console to reach countless homes and let more people experience it. After all, the game console itself wasn't meant to be his main source of profit.

What Luya truly aimed to earn from… was the in-game purchases inside the console's software!

The more consoles sold, the more he could profit from the game. Besides, as Xianyun's technology advanced, newer models could always be developed to satisfy the needs of wealthier clients later on.

For now, this model was meant for the widest possible audience. That's why he kept the price low—to let more people afford it. By doing so, Luya could speed up his mission of spreading Yu-Gi-Oh! throughout Teyvat.

....

"Everyone, please listen~"

"The price of this console!!!"

Luya's voice rang out, immediately drawing everyone's attention.

All eyes turned toward him, eager to hear how many Mora this new device would cost.

Luya disconnected the console's link to the display screen.

On the monitor appeared the price:

[500,000 Mora]

"This console costs 500,000 Mora each."

"They'll be available for sale in just a few days!"

When the crowd heard that the console would only cost 500,000 Mora, excitement filled the room.

"Whoa!!!"

"Really?!"

"Only 500,000 Mora to bring one home?!"

"That's amazing!"

"I can't wait to buy one already!"

"So cheap! It's seriously a bargain!!"

"With this, I'll be living my best life!"

Charlotte, too, was stunned by how inexpensive it was. She stared in disbelief at Luya and the console before him.

Such a high-tech product… for only 500,000 Mora!

Charlotte could hardly wait to write her news article and publish it in The Steambird.

She already had titles in mind:

[Liyue Harbor's Duel Monsters!]

[The Birth of the Game Console — The Rapid Rise of Technology]

And many more…

Standing on the stage, Luya looked out at the eager faces below. He knew then that the console's unveiling had been a complete success!

So he said:

"Well then! Everyone, please look forward to it! This concludes today's console press conference!"

Then, with a tap of the Shop Renovation function, the platform he'd built in the store vanished instantly.

The crowd, long accustomed to Luya's miraculous abilities, wasn't surprised at all. They chatted animatedly, discussing how much they were looking forward to the console—and how curious they were about the game's online dueling feature.

....

With the console's debut complete, Luya's next step… was to find a suitable location to build an electronics factory—and recruit workers to help him.

For that… he'd need Keqing's assistance.

Luya walked up to her and said with a cheerful smile:

"Miss Keqing I have something I'd like to ask your help with"

Keqing chuckled. "Oh? What's the issue? Speak freely."

Seeing her agree before even asking what it was, Luya was delighted.

"To produce these consoles, I'll need to open a factory. And I'll need quite a few people to work there. Could you help me arrange that?"

Keqing thought for a few seconds, then her eyes lit up.

"That's easy! Though… what kind of pay are you offering? If the wages are too low, even I might have trouble finding people for you."

Luya considered it for a moment.

"How about 2 million Mora per person? With meals and lodging included?"

Keqing nearly spat out her jasmine honey tea.

"Cough—cough!"

"That high?! Are you serious?!"
