The customers who had originally come intending to buy Yu-Gi-Oh! Scratch Cards or other products were now completely captivated by Luya.
For a while, everyone watched intently, eyes fixed on the device in Luya's hands.
Ganyu knew this was the new invention Luya had taught her master to create. Luya clearly valued it greatly. However, Ganyu herself didn't really understand what that tiny machine in Luya's hand was supposed to do.
Yet… from the looks of it, the answer would soon be revealed!
Zhongli knew that this was something Xianyun had spent a long time working on. When he asked her what the machine was for, even Xianyun couldn't quite explain it—only that it was "something quite extraordinary." The technology involved was apparently very advanced.
Just as Zhongli was wondering when he would finally learn the purpose of this mysterious device, Luya suddenly announced a press conference!
It seemed the machine's secret was about to be unveiled.
...
Luya picked up the game console, turned on the screen, and the display lit up. He connected the console's display to the large monitor behind him.
On the console's home screen, there was an app icon featuring Paimon hugging a Kuriboh.
Luya began his introduction.
"This device is called the [Portable Game Console]."
"With it, you can play Yu-Gi-Oh! duels anytime, anywhere!"
"Even if your friends aren't with you, you can still duel with them remotely!"
As soon as Luya finished speaking, the store erupted into excited chatter.
"What?!"
"That tiny thing?!"
"It can actually run Yu-Gi-Oh?!"
"And you can even duel with friends…?"
"I can't believe something that small can handle duels!"
"Whoa!!"
"With this, I can play Yu-Gi-Oh! whenever I want!"
"That's awesome!!"
"Shopkeeper, tell us how to use this thing already!"
Hearing the crowd's excitement, Charlotte couldn't help getting swept up in it as well. She lifted her Kamera and started taking rapid shots of the moment.
...
Then, Luya began his demonstration.
He tapped the icon featuring Paimon and the Kuriboh. A gentle piece of music played from the console, and a white light curtain filled the screen as the game's opening animation.
As the light faded, bold black letters appeared:
[Welcome to Yu-Gi-Oh! Teyvat!]
[Press Any Key to Start]
Since Luya had projected the console's screen onto the large display behind him, even though the console itself was small, everyone could clearly see what was happening.
As the game started up, the console emitted two scanning waves that swept across Luya's body, followed by a voice prompt:
[Verifying identity…]
[Registering account…]
[Enter nickname…]
Following the console's prompts, Luya casually typed in a name:
[yoyoyo]
Then came the character creation screen. Luya adjusted a few features and quickly had his starter avatar.
"What the—?!"
"The shopkeeper's tiny console can actually handle all that complex stuff?!"
"Incredible, truly incredible!"
"This is unbelievable—what a feat of craftsmanship!"
"Too amazing… I really want one of those consoles now!"
"With this, I could play duels at home whenever I want…"
Charlotte, visiting from Fontaine, was completely stunned by the sight. That tiny device could perform such complicated functions—it had to be something extraordinary!
She felt an instinctive certainty that this console would change all of Teyvat in the future.
...
Under everyone's eager gaze, Luya successfully entered the game. The game began with the tutorial stage that Luya himself had designed.
He paused the game and smiled at the audience.
"Next, I'll randomly choose one person from among you… to be the first to try out this console!"
The moment Luya said that, the crowd exploded.
"Me, me, me!"
"Pick me!!"
"I really want to try it!"
"Shopkeeper, please! Choose me!"
Spotlights lit up around the shop, circling through the crowd.
"Well then… whoever the light lands on will be the first person to experience the console."
The lights dimmed. A single white spotlight swept over the crowd, moving back and forth—until finally… it stopped on Charlotte.
"Wow! Me?!"
Charlotte was thrilled… she was really going to be the first one to try the console?! She didn't fully understand what it was, but she was overjoyed nonetheless. After all, to write a real news story, personal experience was absolutely essential!
"Ahhhh!"
"So jealous of that girl… she gets to try it first!"
"Ah well, just gotta envy her~"
"But hey, the console will probably go on sale soon, right?"
"Yeah!!"
"Awesome! I'm definitely buying one!!"
"Just wonder how much it'll cost."
"Hmm… probably expensive…"
Under countless envious gazes, Charlotte stepped forward to stand beside Luya. Luya handed the game console to her and patiently explained each button's function.
Charlotte quickly picked it up.
Next came the beginner tutorial stage.
