The crowd gathered around Liam , so the director and producer and other casts .
Everyone asked him to offer a toast .
If not for his fans and his reputation, the drama would have taken a drastic popularity fall due to lead actress Mira Palmer's behaviour.
Liam stood there clinking glasses with his admirers and offering billion dollars smile that made people around him fawn over .
The reporters inside the party room were much more civilized.Rather than shoving tthe cameras at our faces, they were gathered at the corner of the room to take pictures.
But nothing would escape their preying gaze .
That felt like an opportunity to me .
As Liam waved at me to join him , I put on a huge smile and went around greeting people .
With us there was also Palmer but she was mostly like a third party now .
Noone wanted to have a picture taken with an actress who had a recent scandal of rude behaviour.
Eventually she gave in and went to a seat and watched us from the distance.
I could see the envy and longing in her eyes .
I did not want her to look at my husband that way . A part of me yearned to claw out her eyes and shove them down her throat .
Smiling I picked a whiskey glass and walked towards her .
Even if there were eyes on us , the ears were at a reasonable distance.
So Palmer opened her foul mouth to throw insults at me ," How shameless you are to wrap your arms around another woman's man ."
" You mean , Liam ?," I laughed out ," I had been together with him for so long that everything feels natural with him ."
" Do you not understand?," she pursed her lips , barely keeping the smile on her face ," Now that we are getting engaged, keep the fuck away from him ."
" I don't think so ," I shook my head ," I think that he will like me more in his bed than you ."
" You -"
" What , throw your glass at me or better slap me across the face ," I smiled at her mischievously ,"Noone likes a jealous girlfriend, you know ."
Palmer huffed and stood up ," You can do whatever you want but you can not have him like I do ."
She walked up to Liam and went to hug him around his waist .
Liam looked at her , smiling , curious and then looked back at me , confused .
Here , the actress thought that challenging before the camera was a good thing .
I put down the glass and slumped on the chair.
It took a second for Liam to notice me . So did the others .
Soon a small group of people gathered around me .
" Miss Dane , " Liam asked , his voice sounded genuinely worried ,"'Are you alright ?"
" Did she drink too much ?"
" No ,"I shook my head ," I am still on my medication so I feel dizzy sometimes."
" Let me help ," Liam picked me up out of habit and then paused , staring at the crowd .
" Ah , thank you for helping me ," I managed for him.
" Yes , it's what any gentleman would do ," Liam said loudly for the crowd .
Today , they would just see him as a chivalrous man helping a person in distress .
People would not judge me for being sick and judge him for helping me - not when there was a positive view of us on the internet.
" I am so sorry Ms. Palmer , it feels like I am stealing your date ," I looked at Palmer .
I could see that her face was red in anger but she still kept her smile ," Not to worry , why don't these men here help you since Liam has to work greeting people in the gathering ?"
" What are you saying ?," Liam painted surprise on his face ," I can't just leave her when she is sick like this . She is my friend Mira . It will be inhumanely to do this . I am sure that people here are not cruel enough to ask me to party here after abondoning my friend ."
" Liam , I really don't feel good ," I groaned .
" See ?," Liam looked around at the people," Excuse me , but please give me a minute to see if Autumn Dane here is really alright. As you all know my friend here has been going through some tough situation. I hope you can be considerate since I can't just leave my friend in need like this ."
Everyone around us started nodding in agreement.
I could see that Liam was enjoying this drama as much as I was .
" See Mira ..people are not heartless . How can you assume that such esteemed guests will be so cruel ?," Liam scolded her softly .
" You - you are misunderstanding me ," She fumbled ," Let me also help her ."
" No , you stay and attend the guests , since you think that work is much more important than helping a sick woman ," Liam said , leaving alone Palmer in the Wolf's den .
The stares and the comments were already starting to attack her as we walked out of the party room and went to find a nursing bed .
When my manager was gone , Liam looked at me ,worried ," Are you really okay ?"
I looked at him , smiling ," What do you think ?"
He started to smile too , he bent down to kiss me .
I looked up , behind him , from the glass of the closed door , I could see a face .
It was Mira .
Liam , froze watching my eyes , he started to turn.
" Don't look back ," I pulled on the blue choker on his neck . While keeping my gaze fixed on Mira, I kissed Liam .
" Julia ?," Liam was breathless and confused ," We can not here -"
" But I want to ," I pouted ," Stay ."
The door bursted open and Mira walked in.
Her face was so red that she looked like she was in fire .
" You bitch !," she grabbed my hair ..
I let her .
The fun was just starting now...but I could not just wait to see how it would end .
