Yugi instantly understood Yuto's meaning and nodded heavily.
He reached toward the top of his Deck.
"My turn! Draw!"
As the card entered his hand, his eyes swept over it, and he quickly slapped it onto the Duel Disk.
"I Normal Summon Beaver Warrior in Attack Position!"
A flash of light burst forth, and a rat warrior clad in finely made leather armor, short sword in one hand and round shield in the other, eyes sharp and vigilant, appeared at the starting square of Yugi's field!
"According to the rules of the Labyrinth Field!"
Yugi gave a crisp command.
"Beaver Warrior is Level 4, so this turn it can move forward four squares along the passage!"
"Squeak!"
The small figure of Beaver Warrior was incredibly agile. Its ears twitched warily, round shield held tight in front, short sword gripped firmly, as it made its way down the corridor into the depths of the Labyrinth.
"My turn!"
Para drew a card.
"I Summon Shadow Ghoul! Then I activate the Spell Card Polymerization!"
"What?!"
Yugi turned in shock toward Para.
"I fuse the Shadow Ghoul on my field with the Labyrinth Wall in the maze…"
"What?!"
Yuto didn't immediately understand why Yugi was so shocked; he only saw a dark shadow rapidly moving across the wall of the Labyrinth.
"Reveal yourself, Wall Shadow! The unseen killer within the maze! Attack!"
Behind Beaver Warrior, Wall Shadow silently took form, then lashed out with a deadly strike, instantly tearing Beaver Warrior to pieces!

"Heh heh heh, now you're nothing more than prey trapped in a snare!"
Para sneered triumphantly.
"That's right, you won't escape this Labyrinth!"
Dox quickly chimed in.
The brothers sang in chorus, but Yuto was already impatient.
"Oi oi oi, you're getting all smug over just a monster with 1600 Attack? Is your turn over yet?"
He rudely cut them off.
The Paradox Brothers were briefly at a loss for words, so Yuto immediately started his own turn.
"My turn! Draw!"
Tch, dead draw.
Who the hell starts with three H.L.V. and one Operation British in hand?
Luckily, he still had Card of Sanctity.
"I activate the Spell Card Card of Sanctity! I return three cards from my hand to the Deck, shuffle, then draw the same number of cards!"
Yuto shoved the three H.L.V. back into his Deck, quickly shuffled, and drew three new cards.
"Next, I activate the Spell Card Operation British! I Special Summon three H.L.V. from my Deck to the field!"
Yuto slapped down those three all-too-familiar H.L.V. onto his field.
At that moment, a thought struck him—he decided to do some "rule lawyering" of his own.
"Since H.L.V. are landing pods dropped from low orbit, I can deploy them at any position within the Labyrinth!"
The Duel Disk's indicator lights flashed green—rule approved!
Without hesitation, Yuto placed all three H.L.V. in Defense Position, deploying them at the spaces closest to the exit of the maze.
"Then I Normal Summon FF-3 Swordfish Fighter! I Set two cards, and end my turn!"
A sleek fighter jet roared into the air, circling above the maze.
Wall Shadow prowled within the walls, but could do nothing against the threat from the skies.
"My turn!"
Dox drew a card.
"I first Set a card, then I Summon Labyrinth Tank in Attack Position!"
In the center of the field, a massive war machine bristling with savage drills appeared with a thunderous crash.
Yuto fixed his eyes on the war machine and muttered in his heart: This design style is practically identical to a Zeon Mobile Armor!
"Labyrinth Tank is Level 7, so it can move seven spaces!"
However, it had only moved one space before it slammed straight into one of Yuto's deployed H.L.V. with a loud crash, unable to advance further.
"Labyrinth Tank, crush it! Then, Wall Shadow, attack!"
The massive drills roared as they shredded the blocking H.L.V. in an instant.
Meanwhile, Wall Shadow emerged once again from the wall like a ghostly fiend, striking down another H.L.V. in one blow.
"Turn end!"
Now it was Yugi's draw.
"My turn! During the Standby Phase, I activate the effect of Yuto's H.L.V.!"
Yuto blinked, surprised that Yugi would trigger one of his cards—but he quickly followed up:
"I send the H.L.V. on the field to the Graveyard, then Special Summon an MS monster from my Deck!"
He swiftly pulled MS-06 Zaku II from his Deck, placing it in Defense Position on the field.
"Next!"
Yugi didn't stop there. He revealed a Spell Card.
"I activate the Spell Card Exchange on my teammate Yuto!"
Wait—seriously?!
Yuto's eyes went wide—wasn't that card supposed to exchange hands with the opponent?
It works between teammates too?!
The Duel Arena's indicator lights lit up green without hesitation—rule approved!
The rules were set; Yuto had no choice except to hand over his only card in hand to Yugi.
At the same time, he received a card from Yugi—Celtic Guardian.
Great, ace for a throwaway. Looks like this duel's riding on Yugi now.
The moment Yugi received the card, he immediately placed it onto the field.
"According to the effect of ACE – Char the Red Comet! Its Attack and Defense increase by the original stats of the Tributed monster!"
Zaku II had 1400 Attack! Adding Char's own 1200 Attack!
The crimson Zaku, now boasting 2600 Attack, stood tall, massive bazooka resting on its shielded shoulder, mono-eye sensor locking onto the Paradox Brothers.
"ACE – Char the Red Comet is Level 5! Full speed ahead, five spaces!"
Engines roared as the Red Comet blazed across the maze, a crimson streak surging forward to break free of the Labyrinth!
"And now for the finish! ACE – Char the Red Comet, attack!"
Yugi's arm came down like a battle axe.
"Bazooka barrage! Wipe out both Wall Shadow and Labyrinth Tank!"
The crimson giant outside the maze instantly locked onto its targets. Fire burst from the bazooka's barrel!
Whoosh! Whoosh! Boom! KABOOM—!
Two deadly rockets tore through the air, striking almost simultaneously!
The pitch-black Wall Shadow shrieked as it vaporized in the blazing flames; the massive Labyrinth Tank bristling with drills was ripped apart by the shockwave of the explosion, twisted metal fragments scattering everywhere!

Para's face darkened as he drew his next card.
