Cherreads

Chapter 77 - Disco

Krishna pushed the door to the control room. He entered the room lit by only the light of the screens with his two teammates. He descended the small steps before sitting down on one of the chairs. Eira pulled another chair and sat down on it to. Krishna turned around, locking eyes with the agent.

"So, man. When did the minister die?"

The agent adjusted his glasses. "…Yesterday."

Krishna clicked his tongue. 'Okay…Alright, yesterday's footage.'

He leaned forward and placed his hands on the keyboard, gripping the mouse. Without turning back, he asked the agent once more.

"Time of death?"

"Around 12 am." He replied.

Krishna paused, whispering. "Same time…"

He shook his head a clicked away. His hand sped across the keyboard in a flash as he switched the cameras, eventually finding the minster's room. He went to the 'past footage' section in the storage of that specific camera and searched for the 12 am mark. He found and clicked on it, taking a deep breath.

"Alright, ladies. Get ready. If I miss something, catch it immediately."

"Yes! Let's go." Eira leaned in.

"Okay, I'm ready." Mary focused.

Krishna clicked paly and the recording started playing. He saw the minister's office be empty for a few moments before the minister himself, entered. He looked closely. The man was holding his head and leaning on his desk. Then, he started going in circles while crossing his arms and tapping his finger.

'He looks stressed…'

Eira thought as she watched the footage. After a few minutes of circling, he seemed to mutter something to himself. Krishna instantly, paused.

"Hey! Why did you stop the video?" Eira exclaimed.

"I need to catch that." He replied with calm.

He reversed and increased the sound output. He played it again. They could hear the clock tick, the wind moved past and the furniture creak. Then, it came back to the part where the minister muttered to himself. Right at the moment, the sound stopped. Mary raised a brow as only the ministers voice came through.

"What am I going to do…?"

Mary furrowed her brows.

'What's he stressed about? That could be crucial…'

Then, something utterly of this world happened. The minister froze and floated. The trio's eyes widened.

"Wait! What the hell is this? Somebody, help!"

As he cried out, he suddenly became very stiff and stood at attention in the air. Then, he raised his arms, making himself a cross. He looked straight at the camera before red light poured out of his mouth, blocking their vision.

The trio were left speechless – not knowing what to do of that situation. Then, the red disappeared and only the minister's body was left…where they found it. Then, they noticed something – a figure had appeared after the light disappeared. The figure wore the same black and red-striped robe that murdered the deputy but…he was different. His height was below average – shot – dwarf-like even.

Then, he raised his arms forming a cross with his body.

'What's he gonna do now…?'

As Krishna expected the figure to do something more or leave a hidden imprint like the one before or at least escape…the man started dancing. Krishna, Mary, and Eira watched as the murderer danced on the desk with no care in the world.

'Is this man emoting on the ministers body?' Eira's mouth twitched in disbelief.

After a few moments of waving his hands and breakdancing, he looked straight at the camera. Mary looked closer.

'He's wearing a face mask…?'

The figure wore a black face mask that masked his identity. With that, he disappeared as reality glitched for a moment. Right after, agents swarmed the office. Krishna paused and leaned back, letting out a long breath.

'I am trying so hard not to laugh…'

Eira turned towards Krishna.

"Are you laughing?"

"No." Krishna denied as a smile couldn't help but form on his lips.

"It's a death! Don't laugh." She hissed.

"You're so like Henry. Please, I know that was funny." Krishna covered his mouth.

Mary also started slightly chuckling, trying to contain her laughter.

"Not you too, Mary!"

"Forgive me, heavenly father. For I have laughed at the death of a man, may his soul rest peacefully in your kingdom." Mary clasped her hand with a smile.

The agent behind them coughed, drawing their attention. The trio spun around, listening.

"Are you done yet?" He asked.

"Yeah…let me just save it to my hard drive."

Krishna pulled out a small USB and plugged it into the computer. He saved the footage to his hard drive and pulled it out.

"All done."

He stood up and the girls followed. He locked eyes with the agent and said in a solemn tone.

"We'll investigate this and update you. You do your own thing and sure to heavily protect other officials."

The man nodded. "We already are."

Krishna smirked and exited the control room. The trio enforcers strolled through the hallway – one side of glass and the other of lustrous metal. They reached the entrance and stepped out, finding Missio and Henry waiting for them.

"What's up? Find anything?" Henry asked, raising his hand.

"Yeah…the next Michael Jackson." Krishna joked.

"What?" Henry blurted.

"My man…I need to – I need to show you the footage when we get back to HQ." Krishna contained his laughter.

"What the hell do you mean? What did the murderer do?"

"That guy danced on ministers' desk after killing him." Eira said calmly.

Krishna burst out laughing as Henry asked in a perplexed tone.

"What the hell is happening? Fine, dammit! I'll look at the footage myself when we get to HQ."

As the girls passed him, Missio asked in a tired tone.

"Was it the same guy?"

Eira froze and looked at Missio was silently listening to his music box, distracting himself from the world. She shook her head, replying with a solemn tone.

"No…It isn't."
