Chapter 74 - Arthur's Attribute

The morning came rather quickly. Enforcers woke up later due to yesterday's emergency. Major and his group were sound asleep not even realizing it was dawn. Arthur entered the tent and looked at them. With a frowning face, He kicked Major.

"Hey, wake up. It's already eight."

Major groaned. "But…"

"Ah – Ah, I don't want to hear any excuses. Get up or else I'll reconsider telling you attribute." Arthur interrupted.

Major groaned once more before sitting straight. He stood up and stretched his arms, cracking a few bones while at it. He turned around with tired eyes and began waking the others up.

"Hey, Jasper. Wake up or the lieutenant general won't tell us his attribute."

Jasper jolted up after hearing the threat and immediately began preparing. Major woke the others up with relative ease and after, they washed themselves up and exited the tent. Major looked around and finally, he saw Arthur sitting on the ground. Major approached and asked in a tired voice.

"Why are you sitting here, Lieutenant general?"

Arthur waved his hand. "Sit down here with me."

Major shrugged it and sat down. Jasper, Saul, Frank and Elke also sat around, forming a small circle. While Arthur picked the grass, he asked a question.

"So…what do you think my attribute is?"

Major scratched the back of his head. "To be honest, something explosive since I heard you make that explosion yesterday.

"Good guess but no." Arthur replied. "Anyone else?"

The others shook their head.

"Our guess is as good as his. We haven't even caught of glimpse of your attribute." Frank said.

"Okay, then. I'll tell you." Arthur stopped picking the grass.

Just then, Maple approached their little circle.

"What's going on over here?" She inquired.

"Oh – Instructor, the lieutenant general is telling us about his attribute." Elke replied.

"Really? Is that so? Then, I must not interrupt."

Just as she backed away, Arthur stopped her.

"Stop. Come and sit down with us."

Maple's heart skipped a beat. Major made some space for her, opposite of her captain. Maple blinked and sat down in the circle.

"Okay. So, as I was saying. My attribute is…"

The group leaned in closer to clearly her Arthur's attribute.

"…star."

Silence took over the air as the team leaned back.

"Star? Does that mean what I think it means, sir?" Jasper questioned.

"Can you manipulate stars?" Saul added.

Arthur laughed. "Do I even have a star to manipulate here?"'

"Oh, yeah. You're right." Elke stroked his chin.

Arthur opened his palm. As he narrowed his eyes, a small orb appeared. He pointed at it with his other hand.

"See it up close."

Major leaned forward. Taking a close look, he felt heat exuding off the orb as well as light and immense energy.

"I usually have to create stars to use my ability."

"So…" Major leaned back. "Can you do anything else?"

Maple spoke up. "Of course, he can do all that a star can. It's a given."

Major paused and blinked. "Does that mean you can also perform nuclear fusion and fission?"

Arthur widened his arms. "Of course!"

Their jaws literally dropped other than Maple who happily smiled. Arthur rested her arms and said in a neutral tone.

"The thing I can do are all from experiments. There may be more even I don't know I can do."

Major shook his head, snapping himself back.

"Only experimental? Then…can you perform a…supernova?"

Arthur nodded. "Yes, but I don't usually use it. That explosion you heard yesterday was a supernova explosion. It's extremely lethal so I don't use it much."

"What about a blackhole? Can you make a blackhole?" Elke questioned in excitement.

Arthur shook his head. "Making a blackhole is theoretically possible but I can't produce a star with enough mass to turn into a black hole. It's simply beyond my capacity."

"But can you make other stars like dwarf, neutron stars and red super giants?" Saul asked.

"Dwarf – yes. Neutron – No. Red super giant – No." Arthur replied.

"Well, that's a bummer…How big of a star can you make?" Elke asked.

"Probably one the size of a country."

"Shit, that is big." Frank blurted.

"Anything else you want to know before I end our little session of ours?" Arthur inquired.

"Wait…can you do Nucleosynthesis?" Major asked.

"Nucleosynthesis…I forgot what that is. Enlightenment me." Arthur stroked his chin.

"Like element generation. Can you make elements like carbon or iron or at least harness them?"

"Huh…I've never tried that."

"Really? I would've thought that you knew this. Especially, since sir. Sterling trusts you the most with science."

"Oh yeah, right. Astronomy was a pretty big thing in Stratos but I was more interested in chaos theory. I think that I read about Nucleosynthesis somewhere there but I've forgotten about it."

"Why wouldn't you focus more on astronomy, lieutenant general?"'

"Don't know but It's been like almost a decade since I went to Stratos so, I guess I forgot."

"How good were you when you were in Stratos?" Elke asked.

"In theory, I always got into the top 10. In extracurriculars, Top 5."

"Wow, looks like you were a top student in those days." Saul said.

"Yes…Yes, I was but that time is long gone now…Anyways, Maple, take them to training."

"Yes, captain." Maple stood up.

"Hey, ma'am. I've been meaning to ask this but…why does the lieutenant general call you by your name but you call him captain?" Elke whispered.

Maple chuckled. "He's a bit prideful so, he prefers being called that for a sense of superiority."

"Aren't you like, his friends?" Elke inquired.

"It's in his blood to be prideful but he's a good leader and that's all we need. Now, let's get to training before he reprimands me." Maple smiled.
