Missio sat crossed-legged on the balcony floor. His chest rose and fell like the waves in the ocean. The air flowed through his hair; the birds chirped in unison like a choir. He took a deep breath smelling the breath of fresh nature. Then, a knock came from his door. He opened his eyes, grabbed his katana and stood up.
"Come in."
The door opened slowly, a man wearing a blue suit walked in. Missio entered his office, approaching the table. The man's lips parted open, and he said in a neutral tone.
"Sir, Dick has been found guilty."
Missio shrugged.
"Great, has he been bailed out?" He said, sitting down in his chair.
"No."
Missio's eyes narrowed. "He hasn't been bailed out?"
"Y-yes, sir." The man replied horridly.
Missio slumped back into his chair. He frowned.
'…Something's not adding up. Dick has the connection and its just one crime on his clean record so why…has he not been bailed out?'
A few minutes passed without any words. Then, Missio mouth opened and he said in a low voice.
"You can leave."
The man nodded and left. Missio sat in his empty office, his mind spinning. The music from his music box flowed through his ear like a river. Then, his phone rang. Sighing, he picked it up.
"Yes?"
"Hey, Missio. I need you to come to Dick's home right now."
"Eira? Why?"
"Yes, it's me you dum-dum. Now, come over I think we found out the origins of the drugs.
Missio perked up. "Alright, I'll be there in a few."
Then, he paused.
"What about Krishna and Henry?" He asked.
"Their coming too. Now, hurry up!" Eira answered.
Missio cut the call and rushed out of his office. Then, he stopped. He patted his back and remembered something. He went back inside, picking up his katana and sliding it into its sheath. He headed downstairs and after a while, made it outside. He activated his bike, putting on his helmet he sped off towards the politician's mansion.
***
Missio parked near the sidewalk. He took off his helmet, placing it on his bike and walked into the front yard. He was saluted by the guards as he passed the gate and entered the mansion through the front door. He found Eira, Mary, Krishna and Henry reading something on a tablet.
"Hey, Eira. What are you reading?"
Eira flinched, the others turning around.
"Oh, you're finally here." Henry commented.
Eira turned around and realized it was Missio.
"Oh, Missio. The tablet has all the data we could gather." Eira replied, handing him the tablet.
Missio took the tablet from her hand. Eira tugged Mary along, wanting to give Missio space.
"Me and Mary will be in the living room. See ya soon~"
Missio nodded, looking at the screen filled with large blocks of texts and diagrams.
'Why are there diagrams? It's not like we need to know every little details of the things in the cocaine…'
He frowned and began reading the text on the tablet at an unnaturally fast pace. His eyes glided through the explanation, comprehending every section like a computer. Krishna and Henry approached Missio to check the results with him.
"Hey, slow down. I can't read a thing." Henry complained, barely keeping up his captain.
"…I'll go at a slower pace." Missio acknowledged.
"My god, how do you people even read this fast?"
"You're too slow, tortoise. Perks of being a Stratos graduate, am I right?" Krishna mocked, meeting Henry's eyes.
"You and your Stratos Academy. I studied at one of the most prestigious universities in the world." Henry hissed.
"…Do I have to say it, or do you understand?" Krishna held back his laughter.
"What don't I understand? I'm a valedictorian." Henry stated.
"…For your ignorance, Stratos Academy is the best university in the damn world. You'd be average there." Krishna chuckled.
Henry opened his mouth, trying to respond but couldn't. He helplessly bit his lip and continued reading the analysis. Krishna grinned like a maniac and did the same. A few minutes later, they walked back to their team, sitting down on the soft sofa.
"So? Have you made a theory because I feel with the evidence the analysis has gathered, I might know where the origins are."
"Same here." Krishna added.
"…Same." Henry looked away.
Eira's eyes darted towards Henry, her face full of worry. Mary patted her on the back and whispered with a smile.
"He's fine. Just a little down because of Krishna."
Eira narrowed her eyes and stared at Henry with a blank face. Krishna felt her gaze and glanced. He felt a sense of fear and quickly looked away. Eira sighed and began explaining.
"The plants – well, there not technically plants since they don't do photosynthesis – Anyways, the plants used in the cocaine do not grow here. It's the type that grows in extremely harsh conditions."
Then, Mary added.
"The drug dealer is probably in Kharagen. If we estimate it, the trade of those drugs has been going on for around a decade."
"Are ya sure?" Krishna tilted his head.
"Yes, the remaining major Drug lords are located in Kharagen." Mary answered.
'Just as I thought…'
Missio and Krishna nodded, confirming their theory. Then, Krishna asked in a puzzled tone.
"Any idea on who it could be?"
"Not right now but for this many drugs, it has to be someone powerful." Mary replied.
Missio rubbed his index finger and thumb on his chin, seemingly pondering something. After a while he said in a rough tone.
"I don't think he would have connections with many dealers… It's too inconvenient."
Eira snapped her head towards him. "You're right on that one, captain."
"Don't…call me captain." Missio responded in a shy voice.
"If he had contact with several dealers, he would've have surely been caught. Cause big or not a dealer always has a client list!"
As Eira finished speaking, Henry tapped his finger on the table. This action drew the attention of the others and invited curiosity to their minds. Henry adjusted his glasses, saying in a deep voice.
"I'd like to address the elephant in the room…" Henry stated. "If Dicks team knew about these scandals, why in the ten years he's been buying drugs would someone had not exposed him. Better yet, how had some third party not interrupted one of his shipments?"
The room fell silent. Even Missio froze and Krishna smile turned upside down.
