"Young Mistress," the two men greeted in unison the moment Nevaeh appeared.
"Come inside, it's chilly out here," Nevaeh said softly before turning to leave.
But after taking a few steps, she paused. Something felt off. When she looked back, Sawyer and Frank were still standing there, frozen like statues.
"Why are you two still standing there? Is Cassius not around?"
At her words, Sawyer lifted his head and replied respectfully, "Young Mistress, we didn't come to see the Young Master."
"Then what are you doing standing here?"
Sawyer looked at her with guilt written all over his face. "I'm sorry, Young Mistress. It was my duty to protect you at the banquet, but I failed."
Nevaeh blinked, finally understanding why they hadn't left. They were still punishing themselves for what happened at the banquet.
"It's not your fault," she said quickly, shaking her head. "I went to the lounge myself. The other lady was just too cunning, it has nothing to do with you."
