Codename: Onmyoji World
While Alistair remained unaware of the specifics in the Kyokou Suiri world, he could guess. For Najenda, Akame, Murasame, and Akane Kosaka, a world of that caliber was child's play. The four women alone were more than sufficient.
"Now, then…" Alistair paused, gazing at a void before him. "Step through, and we enter the Underworld."
"Let's go," he said.
Persephone followed without hesitation, stepping into the Underworld alongside him.
Their target was clear from the start: Yama.
For Alistair and Persephone, securing Yama, the ruler of the Underworld, was paramount. Hell had been without a master for too long—it was time to bring her back.
As they entered, the world trembled, ripples of unrest spreading.
Step. Step.
Footsteps echoed through a beautiful city, heralding new guests.
The City of the Sun Wheel, trapped in an eternal daily cycle, welcomed its visitors. Few could escape its relentless loop.
Now, two newcomers had arrived.
"Is this the City of the Sun Wheel?" Mine asked, blinking curiously, uncertain.
Leone stretched lazily, like a languid cat. "Yep, this is it. Let's move, Mine. We've got yokai to capture, and plenty more to do."
"Alright," Mine replied.
The two strode boldly into the city, unconcerned by its mysteries. Both wielded sixth-sense small universes, nearing the seventh, bolstered by Alistair's divine power. Handling the City of the Sun Wheel was well within their grasp.
As expected, their brazen entry drew attention. A figure appeared, clad in ornate shrine maiden robes, long black hair adorned with a wide golden headpiece. Behind her floated a birdcage-like ornament, her bare feet hovering above the ground, a radiant mirror before her.
Leone glanced at it. "The Yata no Kagami, one of the Three Sacred Treasures. So, Himiko really has it."
"It makes sense," she added. "Without it, sustaining an 800-year cycle over this city would be impossible for Himiko alone."
The figure was Himiko, the city's ruler, who had ensnared it in an 800-year loop.
"Outsiders," Himiko said, her dark eyes gleaming as they opened. "Leave now."
Ordinarily, she'd eliminate threats without warning. But Himiko wasn't foolish—she sensed the immense power within Leone and Mine. Asking them to leave was the safer option.
"Sorry," Leone grinned, her lazy demeanor gone. Her body shifted, sprouting lion ears and a beastly aura. "We're here for you and Takiyasha-hime. Leaving isn't an option."
"Takiyasha-hime," Mine echoed, aiming her weapon at a figure emerging nearby—another striking beauty.
"Woo-hoo!" Leone smirked. "Another gorgeous yokai. This world's full of them. Surrender, and no one gets hurt. Trust me, you don't want to know the consequences."
Takiyasha-hime stood silent, stepping protectively before Himiko. These intruders meant trouble.
"So be it," Leone said, her grin widening. In a flash, she lunged, while Mine fired her Pumpkin cannon.
The battle ignited.
It would end swiftly.
Snow-white hair fluttered in the breeze, clad in a translucent dancer's outfit, paired with short white socks and wooden clogs. She stood atop a pavilion, gazing at the moonlight, her eyes filled with wistful longing.
The great yokai, Shiranui.
A voice broke her reverie. "Great yokai, Shiranui."
She turned, her crimson eyes wide with surprise. A purple-haired woman with glasses stood behind her—unnoticed until now.
"Great yokai, Shiranui," Sheele said softly, tilting her head. "Will you come with me?"
"Can I refuse?" Shiranui asked, her voice gentle.
"No," Sheele replied, shaking her head. "I'd be troubled if you did. I don't want to disappoint His Majesty. Will you comply?"
Shiranui hesitated, then relented. The terrifying aura in Sheele's eyes at her refusal left no doubt—she had no choice.
Clang! Clang!
Blades clashed fiercely—a sharp katana against an ice blade.
The tall, imposing woman wielding the ice blade toyed with her opponent, a crimson-eyed, horned yokai with a red katana, radiating cold, murderous intent. Yao Bikuni.
Despite her ferocity, Yao Bikuni couldn't land a blow.
Esdeath smirked. "Impressive killing intent, but your strength is lacking. Without power, resolve is meaningless."
"Enough," she said, exerting a fraction of her power. Yao Bikuni's katana flew from her grasp.
As they passed, ice enveloped Yao Bikuni, freezing her solid. Esdeath glanced at her, then departed with the sealed yokai. Yao Bikuni was her third capture, joining Hozuki and Menreiki.
Utaha Kasumigaoka closed her book, tilting her head. "This must be the Sea of Eternity."
"Looks like it," Megumi Kato agreed, eyeing the frozen ocean.
The Sea of Eternity, home to the long-lived merfolk. Consuming their flesh granted eternal life.
"What's the plan, Utaha?" Megumi asked softly.
Utaha smirked mischievously. "We storm in and take Senhime. No time to waste—there's plenty more to do."
"That direct?" Megumi asked.
"These yokai are just the start," Utaha replied. "There's much more ahead."
Megumi nodded, understanding. The yokai capture was merely the first step.
The two stepped onto the sea, entering the domain of the merfolk. What followed was inevitable.
In half an hour, Utaha and Megumi had captured Senhime and every female merfolk, including the Sea God's Halberd—a trivial task.
Kanae Kocho entered a vibrant flower grove. "Sakura Demon, Peach Demon, may we speak?"
The mature, gentle Sakura Demon, radiating Yamato Nadeshiko grace, and the lively Peach Demon emerged.
"Will you come with me?" Kanae asked warmly.
The two yokai hesitated, unsure how to respond.
"Pity," Kanae sighed. "Please, rest for a while."
Her telekinesis surged, and the wary demons fell into a deep sleep. With a gesture, two crystal orbs, each the size of a child's fist, encased them.
Seven such orbs floated beside Kanae.
Shinobu Kocho joined her, exasperated. "Sister, why ask when you could just act?"
"As guests, it's polite to ask," Kanae smiled. "No harm in it."
Shinobu sighed. Her gentle sister was growing cunning, likely from Utaha's influence. "Snow Woman, Sakura Demon, Peach Demon, Peacock King, Three-Tailed Fox, Nine-Lived Cat, Ryūgyoku…"
"Let's go, Shinobu," Kanae said. "Much more to do."
The sisters vanished, their tasks far from over. This world's conquest demanded efficiency—no time for idleness.
Eriri Spencer Sawamura crossed her arms, indignant. "Ubume, I'm almost an adult! Stop treating me like a child!"
Ubume, a great yokai, gently stroked Eriri's hair with maternal warmth, leaving Eriri flustered.
Unlike others who fought or negotiated, Ubume had surrendered instantly upon meeting Eriri, signing a kin contract. Her origin and rank elevated, she became a true great yokai.
Ubume's maternal love was undeniable.
"Eriri, stay calm, or you won't grow," Ubume said softly.
Eriri sighed, helpless. "Next, we target Snow Woman, Kiyohime, Onikuma, and Aoandon."
"Oh my!" a refined voice interrupted. A tall woman with snow-white hair, seated atop a blue lantern, appeared. Aoandon smiled playfully at Eriri and Ubume.
"That's Aoandon, right?" Eriri asked.
Ubume nodded. "Indeed."
"Strange," Eriri mused. "You knew we were capturing yokai, yet you didn't flee?"
Aoandon chuckled. "I knew. But could I escape? You'd catch me eventually."
"Exactly," Eriri said. "Running just makes it harder. Knowing Esdeath and Leone, they might rough you up."
"Hey!" Leone's voice cut in, annoyed. "Eriri, talking behind my back?"
Before Eriri could react, Leone scooped her up in a hug.
Eriri flushed, flailing. "Leone, let me go, you big-chested menace!"
