Tina looked like she'd only just noticed Anna walk in. Pale and shaky, she slowly sat up with Linda's help.
Her eyes filled with fake pity, and the moment she saw Anna, tears started streaming down her face. Sniffling, she begged, "Sister… I'm already like this. Won't you forgive me?"
Anna's reply was calm, almost casual. "I forgive you."
Tina froze, the speech she'd practiced collapsing in her throat. She didn't know what to say.
Anna smiled, amused by the heavy makeup streaking Tina's face. Suddenly she leaned forward and reached out.
Tina flinched, bracing for a slap but Anna just pinched a patch of makeup off Tina's cheek and mocked, "You're still wearing makeup in the hospital? Looks like you're almost recovered."
Tina's face went even paler. She swatted Anna's hand away. "Anna, what are you doing?" she hissed.
Anna used the moment of distraction to peel the bandage off Tina's wrist and examine her cut.
