Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Physical Assessment

"What are you all doing?" On the track, Chizuru Haihara looked speechlessly at the chaotic group and the lifted Celestial Weave.

"Reporting, ma'am! We have captured the criminal, Celestial Weave, and brought her to the track!" Nishimoto Makikusa said with a grin. She was holding her with one hand and even gave a mock salute with the other.

"You're really strong," Chizuru said, clicking her tongue, looking at the panting Kobayashi Kaze and then at Makikusa, who was holding her up with almost one hand.

"Well, I have to help with farm work at home. And Yume is pretty light," she said, even lifting her up and down to demonstrate.

"As the one being lifted up and down, I'm curious what you're thinking right now." Chizuru circled around to their side, squatted down, and asked curiously, looking at the expressionless girl.

She had her arms crossed, her eyes were dazed. If she weren't being held, she would have looked very profound. "I want to travel back to yesterday and shoot the Celestial Weave who, in a fit of emotional explosion, got herself onto this pirate ship." She never would have thought that after opening up, this group from Kasamatsu Tracen would be so wild. Was this the passion of the countryside?

"And Nishimoto-san, I think people need a little bit of a personal bubble. Can you put me down?" She looked up and said to her with a幽幽look.

With a thump, she landed on the ground. Looking up at the blue sky, she felt that she missed the Tokyo where there was a sense of distance between people. Except for T.M. Opera O, maybe.

"Alright, stop daydreaming. It's time to train. Sato-sensei has already prepared the logistics for you," Chizuru said, pulling her up from the ground and clapping her hands to get everyone's attention.

She noticed that the track, which had been empty a few days ago, was now marked with white lines, and there were suddenly a lot of training equipment and baskets of mineral water in the field. On the side of the track, Ken Sato, sitting on a tricycle and wearing sunglasses, gave them a thumbs-up.

"And if you get hurt, Sato-sensei will take you for treatment." Chizuru's voice came from the side. She asked curiously, "Did he also get a doctor's license?"

"Of course not—" Chizuru laughed and waved her hand. "But his tricycle will take you to the infirmary at top speed!"

"Sato-sensei is the best tricycle rider at Kasamatsu Tracen!"

In the distance, he seemed to have heard her. He turned his head and looked up at the sky at a forty-five-degree angle, as if he had a dark past. Unfortunately, no one paid him any attention.

"Celestial Weave, the first thing we need to train is your stride. Your steps are too light. It's a clear turf track running style."

"A step like that will get you in trouble on a dirt track. You've felt it too, right?" On the track, Chizuru was already explaining the problems she had seen, and she nodded in agreement. "If my steps had been a bit bolder yesterday, I might have been able to pull away even further."

Hearing her say this, Sumire's lips twitched. A 300-meter gap was already very exaggerated, and she was saying she could have pulled away even further. Just how strong was this girl? She looked at Chizuru with an expectant expression, hoping she would be like those old coaches in inspirational movies and use sharp words to make her focus.

But to her surprise, Chizuru nodded seriously. "Indeed. If it weren't for the fear of accidents, I wouldn't have even had you specifically train your dirt track stride."

"With your current ability, winning a local major prize and charging onto the central circuit is almost a sure thing."

This answer shocked Sumire. Not just her, but all the other horse girls except Celestial Weave were also shocked. They knew she was strong, but their only reference was themselves. They had no idea she was that strong. She had just finished her debut race, and she could already dominate a local major prize without even training?!

Celestial Weave's eyes narrowed slightly. She had already sensed that Chizuru had a good eye, but she hadn't expected her to be so sure.

"But before we practice your stride, we still have to do a routine physical assessment."

"As a trainer, I can't just rely on experience. I need accurate data."

After saying that, she had her get on the track, then turned her gaze to the other horse girls. "You too."

"Eh?!"

Makikusa was fine. She had good stamina and went straight to the track. But for Sumire, Kaze, and Suzune, it was a different story. One was a "gyaru" who hadn't run in a long time, one was a petite girl with poor stamina, and one was a theorist who stayed indoors all day studying equipment. Before they even got on the track, they could already imagine their pathetic future.

"Um, we're just here to train with Yume. We don't need a physical assessment, right?" Suzune timidly raised her hand and asked.

"You three mean the same thing?" Seeing the other two hiding behind her, Chizuru's eyebrows furrowed.

"I thought we just had to cheer and wipe her sweat."

"Yeah, yeah. Yume is so amazing. We can just cheer for her from the side."

Looking at the timid and weak trio, Chizuru snorted coldly, pulled the two from behind, and said seriously, "So-called training partners, of course, also include confrontational training partners. How can you not even be able to run!"

"No more nonsense. Get on the track!" With that, she pushed the three onto the track.

Chizuru took out a training book from somewhere, put the whistle hanging around her neck in her mouth, and said, "First physical assessment, I want to see your top speed! Shuttle run from the starting point to the first white line ahead."

"Begin!"

With a blast of her whistle, Celestial Weave was the first to shoot out from the starting point. In the blink of an eye, she had already reached the end. Sumire's pupils contracted. This speed was even faster than in the debut race. Was she not even going at her full speed then?! Before she could think further, she had already passed the finish line and was running back towards her.

Seeing her coming, Sumire gritted her teeth and increased her speed. "It's just a hundred meters! Even I can run that!"
