The elder's expression remained unreadable.
Aira took a deep breath, gathering her courage. Although she was nervous about confronting him, she had already made up her mind. She might not know the whole truth, but she was certain that the elder was hiding something from her.
"It's because you've been very insistent about keeping me here," she said firmly. "You've also arranged for the elf prince to stay close to me." She paused, holding his gaze. "At first, I thought you were simply trying to help me. But now, I'm beginning to think you have another reason for keeping me in the Land of Elves."
The elder continued watching her without saying a word.
Aira swallowed nervously but refused to back down. "Did you keep me here because you wanted me to get close to the elf prince?"
Silence fell between them.
