Chapter 25 - A Tour to The City of Wonders

They entered the hotel suite, still chatting softly.

Vicious turned to her and said gently, "You can go to bed, Thalia. Don't stay up too late. I'll be heading out for a bit I'll be back later."

She nodded with a tired smile. After freshening up, Thalia crawled onto the bed, dividing it neatly with the pillows even taking a few from the couch to build a barrier between them. Soon, she drifted into a peaceful sleep.

Later that night, Vicious returned. When he saw her sleeping so soundly, her hair slightly scattered and the pillows separating them, he couldn't help but smile faintly. Quietly, he slipped into bed on the other side, and for some reason, his heart felt calm. Before long, he too fell asleep.

The next morning, sunlight filtered through the curtains. Vicious eyes fluttered open and the first thing he saw was Thalia's face turned toward him. A few strands of hair covered her cheeks. He hesitated, then carefully brushed them aside.

Vicious POV:

I don't know why… but I just love being close to her.

Could it be pity? Concern? Or something deeper I can't name?

Ever since that night we shared a bed, sleep feels peaceful when she's beside me.

The truth? I actually asked the receptionist to book us the same room. This hotel… is mine. I think I played the cards well. Ever since our lips brushed each other, I yearn to feel it again I wonder what it tastes like, Uggh focus Vicious, you can't get distracted

He exhaled softly, lost in thought, when Thalia stirred. Her eyes blinked open and she froze when she saw him looking at her.

"Good morning," she said quickly, sitting up.

"Morning," he replied, voice low and still rough from sleep.

Thalia rose and went to the bathroom to wash up. When she came out after her shower, her hair was damp, cascading down her shoulders. Vicious, still seated on the couch, found himself staring.

She caught his gaze and frowned. "What?"

He looked away instantly. "Nothing."

A faint blush crept up her cheeks as she turned away to finish getting ready. Soon, Vicious freshened up as well and ordered breakfast for them both.

"How was your night?" he asked as the waiter left their trays on the table.

"It was fine, as always," she replied. "Yours?"

He smiled. "Honestly, one of the best I've had."

"Really? Why was it because of the soft sheets?" she teased.

He shook his head. "No… it's something else."

Before she could question further, he continued, "Anyway, today I'm taking you around the city. I promised yesterday, didn't I? Think of me as your tour guide. We're here to relax, to enjoy to truly bask in the moment."

Thalia chuckled. "Alright, tour guide. I'll hold you to that."

As they began breakfast, Vicious reached across the table and started feeding her from his plate.

"Hey! What are you doing?" she exclaimed.

He grinned. "I've been doing this since you fell ill, remember? I did it twice then. I guess I'm used to it so no objections."

No stop but Vicious was not listening Thalia sighed dramatically. "Fine. I give up." Good girl open wide Vicious replied.

After breakfast, they set out.

Vicious hailed a taxi, and as they drove through the streets, he said, "Our first stop — Chichén Itzá, one of the Seven Wonders of the World."

Thalia's eyes widened with excitement as she looked out the window. "It's really one of the Seven Wonders?"

He nodded. "Yes. It's an ancient Mayan city, filled with mysteries, stories, and a kind of magic time can't erase. See that towering pyramid ahead? That's El Castillo — the Temple of Kukulcán. Every step, every stone tells a piece of history."

She leaned closer to the window. "It's beautiful…"

He smiled at her wonder. "Wait till you see it up close."

When they arrived, Vicious guided her through the site, describing the intricate carvings and sharing legends of the Mayan gods. Thalia asked question after question, her curiosity lighting up her face. And each time, he answered patiently his voice calm, his eyes never leaving her.
